  1. I'm coming up on 7 weeks. My wife keeps joking that she'll do it for free. I don't trust her.
  2. She's actually a Husky but they look nearly identical. Huskies are just smaller. She only weighs 43lbs. 40 of that is hair. Our robot vacuum has been a huge help.
  3. I took the snow pics March 1st along the NC/TN border.
  4. Fox News recently had Dr Fauci on and he cautioned against reopening the economy too soon. What does Fox do? They didn't like his answer so they get a 2nd opinion from Dr Phil. Dr Phil is not a medical doctor. He has a PhD in clinical psychology but his license was suspended in 2006. He's not even allowed to practice psychology. They'd be better off interviewing Dr Pepper. Think about what they are trying to do here. When @MacGyver said certain media outlets were lying about COVID, he was right.
  5. I was under the impression that they all(or at least most) had that feature. I've seen it in numerous police videos over the years.
  6. Don't ever sucker punch anyone....
  7. No way I'd let some uninsured friend cut trees that are already close to the house. Some jobs are best done by pros.
  8. I thought the fire was from a botched landing, not the lightning?
  9. Good idea David. Beautiful daughter too. I'm happy because my wife and I both have jobs. On top of that my job is paying me 20% extra for hazard pay even though they are letting me work from home. We got a full price offer the 2nd day our home was on the market. Just waiting to close on the 29th. Happy to be selling while prices are so high. I'm also thankful for our health and the fact that my high risk dad has avoided catching COVID.
  10. Scroll up 6 posts.
  11. We have derailed this thread but I had to laugh at Amash being called a democrat. That might be most factually wrong statement I've ever read on this forum. Even 15 seconds worth of research would have revealed this. opposes abortion voted to repeal Obamacare Introduced an amendment that would require a balanced budget pro 2nd amendment- he was a founding member of the 2nd Amendment caucus. routinely speaks out against NSA surveillance programs "I follow a set of principles. I follow the Constitution. And that's what I base my votes on. Limited government, economic freedom, and individual liberty." Justin Amash Sounds like such a liberal..... If people would be honest with themselves they would probably love this guy as president.
  12. Justin Amash is considering running. I'd vote for him over Trump or Biden.
  13. Agreed. One of my selfish fears is that we'll lose a lot of our best restaurants and breweries in Knoxville so my wife and I have been getting to go food and beers from some of our favorite places.
  14. Actually, I wouldn't have a problem with that because it would be a rare moment of honestly and accountability. You just can't seem to resist arguing with me even when I'm trying to avoid doing so with you. I had a much longer response typed up but it's not worth it. I would again ask that you simply move past my posts if you can't avoid turning it into some sort of argument. You're the only person here that keeps doing this.
  15. Our government failed to prepare for this going back at least 20 years. Trump just happens to be the unlucky President that gets to deal with it. Unfortunately he lacks the ability to be accountable for anything so we're seeing the result of him just pointing fingers every possible direction. He's also great at contradicting himself over and over so it's hard to sift through his bull#### to find bits of truth. Naturally, reporters call him out on this and he just brushes them off as fake news and his supporters claim he owned the libs. It's interesting to watch. Now he's blaming the WHO and China but here he was at the end of January.
  16. We cut a deal with major airlines. Can someone explain whey they don't have to pay back all this money? My understanding is that even the auto makers had to pay the money back during the last bailout. We're giving American $5.8B and they only have to pay back $1.7B. Similar numbers for other airlines. On a positive note, they aren't allowed to do stock buybacks but it doesn't say for how long. Why are we giving them free money? I don't understand it.
  17. You know that's Kane right? He's doing a fine job as Mayor so far. Even if he wasn't, I sure as hell wouldn't tell him that to his face.
  18. 61,000 people died in a 6-7 month period. We've had 24,000 die since March 25th. 338 a day versus 1,200. And that's after shutting down 42 states. Having said that, I still wonder if we've done more damage than was necessary. I have no idea what to think at this point but I know I'm not going to compare it to the flu.
  19. Agreed. We already know it will come back in the fall. What's the alternative though? Do we just stay indoors until August? I guess my fear is that there won't be an economy to return to and we can't keep passing $2T bailouts every month. I understand the measures are working. I'm hoping that once we get through round 1 we can take some lessons from Singapore who handled this remarkably better than the US without having to impose any lock downs. The only measures they took that I don't agree with are the harsh penalties but we're seeing that happen here in the US as well. https://theconversation.com/why-singapores-coronavirus-response-worked-and-what-we-can-all-learn-134024
  20. It is obvious or economy wasn't nearly as strong as they made it seem. I feel like we've just told all these corporations that they can do whatever the hell they want and big mamma fed and the American people will bail them out. Companies like Boeing were already struggling horribly. They should not be bailed out. Airlines have had record years leading up to this and used all their money for stock buy backs. This money should at least come with stipulations that they can't do buy backs for a decade. It really seems like we care more about corporations than working class families. I don't get it.
  21. I agree. I saw yesterday there are only ~48 active cases in Knox county, out of 500K people. There has to be a better way to handle this next time.
  22. Honestly, when it comes to AOC and others like her, I find that it's best just to ignore her. This air time is exactly what she wants and it's the opposite of what she deserves. She exists solely to stir the pot and make conservatives get worked up. I typically just read her comments with a shake of the head and move on.
  23. While we may never know, I'm guessing few of us could watch women get knifed to death and do nothing. Assuming we have a safe backstop I bet most would take the shot.
  24. We can't continue like this for much longer or we'll have much bigger problems than the virus. Is that 16 million now in 3 weeks?
