  2. I'll likely never go back to a gas trimmer. I don't even have a great battery powered unit and it still cuts through almost everything. I agree with the statement above that it will only struggle with real thick brush.
  3. She's a home care nurse. I'm not sure if they were wearing maks in public or not.
  4. 2 of my friends in Knoxville have it. Both in their 20's and otherwise healthy. They said it's not pleasant, similar to the flu. They also have no idea where they got it.
  5. Yep. I respected the founders statement. It was one of the most honest apologies I've seen. I buy their tools for working on my truck and they work just fine.
  6. They recalled the jack stands that replaced the ones they previously recalled. That's embarrassing.
  7. Around 2010 I was in a First TN bank about 10-15 minutes before a guy tried to rob it. He didn't realize that branch had an armed guard. I was carrying my Ruger LCR at the time and always wonder what might have happened. I'm glad I wasn't there. Last year my wife and I were dead asleep around 0100 when our home alarm started blaring. I never realized how jarring that would be. I was up, out of bed, Glock 21 in hand, round chambered in maybe 5 seconds. My wife was so scared she wasn't much help. I had her deactivate the alarm from her phone. Once that noise was off I just stood there and listened while keeping my G21 pointed at entrance to our bedroom. I realized pretty quickly it had to be a false alarm because our dog wasn't barking or growling. I don't think he would bite anyone but he wouldn't be silent. The alarm was saying kitchen window breach which I determined was closed. The sensor had just failed in the middle of the night. I was thankful for my weapon mounted light and the fact that we could control the alarm from our phone. It taught us some good lessons which we later talked about. I hope I never have a real encounter.
  8. I need a new EDC light that doesn't take up a lot of pocket space. I'm really unhappy with my Streamlight Microstream. Which Olight fits the bill? Sounds like @Smith likes the SR2 but it's a bit thick. What's this first one? Edit, I squinted. It looks like it says 3T EOS.
  9. No requirement has been given to wear masks outdoors. I'm wearing a mask at the gym everyday while doing weight training and cardio. I'm surviving. But yes, I'm sure wearing a mask behind a paver would be horrible. I believe you there Greg and I wouldn't do it either. I think the discussion here is around wearing a mask to the store.
  10. It's not about the inconvenience. No one can really argue that wearing a mask is that bad. For many, they have written COVID off since the beginning as media hysteria/conspiracy/etc etc. Wearing a mask now would give validity to the virus and they aren't willing to do that.
  11. I'm going to wear a mask even if the only reason is to try and put this pandemic behind us quicker. Can we at least agree that would be a good thing? I do believe that this thing will end quicker if we all make a little effort. If I'm wrong, then the worst thing that's happened to me is minor inconvenience from wearing one. I just don't feel like they are asking that much from us at this point. Shutting down businesses was far worse than wearing a mask.
  12. I still can't believe we're so divided that we can't even agree on masks. I seriously wonder what would happen if we actually had a pandemic that killed a much higher percentage. My guess is that the rest of the world would handle it much better than us. We're the 9th worst country in the world right now for deaths per 1 million. I can't help but shake my head when I see headlines like this and I've seen at least 6-7 similar to this one.
  13. I guarantee one thing, and I'd bet my truck on this. If Trump had come out 2 months ago and told everyone we need to wear masks, that it was a minor inconvenience but also the right thing to do, most of the country would get behind it. It would be a non-issue, just like the rest of the world where they are doing it. Instead, it's turned into this giant political #### show. Seriously, we have folks comparing it to a muslim hijab. COVID isn't Trump's fault but he may get absolutely crucified for his response this election. I guarantee there are a bunch of older voters in Florida and elsewhere that are seriously conflicted on who to vote for. Some of these people may like his policies while also feeling like America doesn't care about them. It's been mentioned here many times. "They were old and going to die anyways". "Gandma's dead but at least we owned the libs and didn't have to wear a mask. It's what she would have wanted." From a purely political standpoint this was a poor choice. Those that like Trump would still vote for him if he had told us to wear them. Instead, he's refused. Trump needs these people in order to win. Preferably alive....
  14. Because "muh rights" :shakes fist: Because we live in a time where even a pandemic has become politicized. We can't come together to do anything even remotely kind and decent because everything is viewed through a partisan lens. If we wear a mask it means the libs have somehow won. Next we'll all have to turn in our guns and have Bill Gates microchip our assholes. Anything scientific is also suspicious and linked to the liberal overlords. We can't trust them either.
  15. I don't get the propensity many have towards conspiracy. Who exactly are the puppet masters here? It would be easier to believe if this was only happening in the USA but the entire world is fighting COVID in some capacity. As for why it's spreading in Knoxville.. Social distancing is a thing of the past. Every age, race and sex seems to have stopped caring. I'm seeing maybe 10-15% of people wearing masks.
  16. Government tells us we have to wear pants in public. How is this different? I don't like being told what to do either but this is a pretty minor inconvenience. If it keeps us from having to close businesses again I see it as a win.
  17. I can't believe how passionate some people are about not wearing a mask. Talk about 1st world problems. Is it really that big of an inconvenience?
  18. Edward Jones has value for someone who 1)knows little to nothing about investing and 2) isn't interested in learning. They were perfect for me at 26 when I first opened my Roth IRA.
  19. That's a good point I left out. My friends that invest on their own consistently see higher rates of return than I do. I realize we're likely invested in different funds but if I'm paying a premium for Edward Jones I expect more than I'm getting. I'm going to see how 2020 ends. If my Fidelity account does better than Edward Jones that will say a lot.
  20. I've been with Edward Jones since 2014. The fees are too high. I've been slowly educating myself on investing and I'll be firing Edward Jones soon. I can't even say the service has been that amazing. I recently moved my previous 401k to my new one with Fidelity. I like their platform and I've been buying low cost index funds. Vanguard also has a great reputation. You seem to have a decent grasp on this already. I don't think you need the high cost service from E.J.
  21. I'm not sure that's true. "Two hair stylists in Missouri interacted with a total of 140 clients and six coworkers before learning they both had COVID-19 — thankfully, the stylists didn't pass the virus on to any of these contacts, according to a statement from the local health department. " https://www.livescience.com/hair-stylists-infected-covid19-face-masks.html
  22. Yeah but I can't keep a bar of soap in my truck and wash my hands every time I leave a business. As soon as my wife and I leave the store we lather up with sanitizer. I've always done this though as shopping carts are nasty!
  23. I also have a Halosun on my MPX. Can't remember which model but as soon as you pick up the gun it comes on which is neat. Definitely wouldn't want this feature if it's in a vehicle though.
  24. +2 on the Safe House. I used their Knoxville location and they were great to work with. It's always advised to buy more safe than you think you need. I actually ended up buying 2. One Browning, and one Cannon. Both were used but you couldn't tell. I think the fire rating is more important than the manufacturer so I wouldn't get caught up on a specific company but instead buy one with a good rating that suits your needs. The reason I bought two is because I filled the 2nd one with around 80% of my ammunition.
