What video? As I understand it, this guy was with her and had this to say "I put my arm underneath her and was pulling her out and then another guy fell on top of her, and another guy was just walking (on top of her)," Winchell said. "There were people stacked two- to three-deep ... people just crushed." Who knows though, that's why I pointed out it was unconfirmed earlier.

Let him know TGO is thinking about him.

I mean, how often do you see a cop legitimately murder someone while on duty? I found it surprising enough to share. The headline was accurate to the facts as we know them. He forced the man into his squad car. I don't really see anything that sensationalized about the story.

Add me to the group that's willing to cut them a little slack. We saw levels of online shopping in 2020 never seen before. FWIW, I've talked to people recently that have also had packages lost and delayed via UPS.

There have also been unconfirmed reports that the woman who died was carrying a Don't Tread on Me Flag and was trampled to death. Here is what her own family said about her. "The sisters also clashed over Boyland's political views and the QAnon myth, which includes wild allegations of a child sex ring. Boyland had begun following the conspiracy theory over the past six months, Lonna Cave said. Boyland explored its baseless accusations that online furniture retailer Wayfair was part of the fictional ring, her sister said, and her faith in conspiracies spiraled from there."

In the last 5 minutes I joined the TFA, GOA, and FPC that Elliot mentioned. I'm not giving the NRA another dime until I see changes. I hope the bastards in Washington like me putting my $600 check to good use. I know everyone else here got a check so now I'll ask, who's next?

I'm not sure it matters. What matters is what the staff decides. If there is one thing I've learned after being here 11 years it's that TGO is not a Democracy. I hated David's decision to shut down politics but I'm going to respect his decision like he asked. I think what they are trying to avoid now is misinformation or speculation which is exactly what was in the thread that MacGyver locked earlier. The next 2-4 years are going to be full of people constantly speculating and worrying about pending gun control. We've been down this path before. If folks are going to start a thread I don't think asking them to list a source is really that crazy of a request. I wish this was still true. I really do.

This is a headline you don't see often. "A 29-year-old Memphis Police officer is facing a slew of charges after police say he allegedly kidnapped and killed a man while on duty. While on duty, Officer Patric Ferguson, armed with a handgun, forced the 30-year-old victim, Robert Howard, into his squad car Tuesday evening, according to a police statement on Twitter. Police say Ferguson drove the victim to a separate location where he allegedly shot and killed him." I'm not that familiar with MPD. How is their reputation?

Have you been to Facebook? There are PLENTY of conservatives voicing their opinion on there.

Thanks for sharing all this. It helps explain the video I saw earlier where some guy threw a tantrum at the airport after learning he'd been added to the no-fly list.

I hope this guy isn't a TGO Member (the zip tie guy gets busted)

Just had a thought. Does @Grand Torino make any axes or hatchets?

I was prepared to recommend a Fiskars axe but I see that he wants a wood handle. Fiskars makes a great budget friendly axe but it's not exactly what I would call an heirloom.

You and I have completely different opinions on what makes someone a lost cause. I have very good friends all over the political spectrum. Friends I would do anything for and they would do the same for me. To answer you question, you don't have to sacrifice 500 rounds of ammo. Take them shooting and bring a box of 50 rounds. I would spend more time making them practice handling the gun. Dry fire. Loading/unloading. Snap cap practice etc. One can adapt their methods of teaching to fit the current situation. BTW, I took a friend shooting recently who voted for Biden. He text me this morning and asked if I would accompany him to a gun show in a few weeks. Not everyone is a single issue voter.

Anytime I can teach a new person to shoot, I do it. Their political beliefs don't matter. We need more people in our camp, not less.

Yeah I'm a bit confused. It seems all we did today was relocate the usual politics discussion to General Chat and the 2nd Amendment section. I guess we need time to adjust.

I was going to say this earlier but didn't want to deal with the ridicule. NPR does good journalism, especially when you branch out past politics. The problem is that some people are just so uncomfortable hearing an opinion they don't agree with that they will just dismiss that source as fake news. I personally try to get my news from both liberal leaning and conservative sources.

I have a Smittybilt unit I paid around $170 for. It works very well. I use it to air back up after offroad travel. The $25 units will work in a pinch but they take forever. In this picture I was able to air up 3 tires before the guy in the brown truck finished 1.

That's true. One thing I keep coming back to is that Congress has barely passed anything meaningful the past 4 years. Seriously, aside from the Tax Cuts and the COVID spending bills, there has been very little done. Prior to that the biggest item was what? Obamacare? They are so freaking dysfunctional that it's hard for them to pass ANYTHING.

I didn't want to offend anyone but I've been thinking it. A lot of the people I see hoarding ammo are in their 70's. When I'm at that age I'll be purging things, not hoarding. I don't want to leave a giant mess for everyone to clean up. I think we have some members that are like Burt from Tremors, which may not be a bad thing.

I'll say this, if I'm wrong in my previous post, and they actually do pass sweeping gun control, then the events at the Capitol will look minor compared to what I imagine will happen. I'll be praying for peace.

I have been reading some variation of this statement on TGO for over a decade. I cannot spend every day worrying about something I have zero control over. They have a tiny majority in the Senate. Razor Thin. I believe it's very unlikely that each Democrat will sign on to major gun control. For democratic senators in red states it would be a death sentence for their career. Let's be honest, they care about saying in the Senate more than ANYTHING else. The more likely scenario is some form of executive order which I believe would be taken to SCOTUS.

I'm not clicking that link from my work computer... As for the waste, my point earlier was specific to the foreign aid comments I've been hearing. Compared to $2.3T, what we sent abroad is nothing. People kept harping on that one issue as if that ALONE was the reason we should be outraged.
