Not sure if this counts as a fun video but it is interesting. This is a neat YouTube channel and lately they have been exploring Memphis canals and creeks. Guess what they found...

I think that's exactly what he was saying. It's all orchestrated by Democrats to drum up support for more gun control and we're idiots for not realizing it.
-
So I guess you aren't going to explain what it is that we are missing? I think I have an idea, but I want to see you put it in writing. Enlighten us please.

80% of that list were domestic issues that wouldn't rise to the level of media attention like the shooting in Colorado. I still maintain my stance that 2020 was a relatively slow year for mass shooting events compared to the previous years which is a good thing. I wouldn't be surprised if more attacks like GA and CO happen since that's usually how it goes. What exactly are you going on about?

That's essentially every 2A lobbing group I belong to. I get daily emails from the FPC about how the gun apocalypse is coming. They won't admit it, but for fundraising purposes they love having the Democrats in control.

I haven't seen that mentioned yet. It honestly seems like a decent bill to me but the TFA is not happy with it.

Good point. I'm sure by definition we had mass shootings last year. But we didn't see the sort of high profile shootings like those that have occurred this month in GA and now CO. If we did, I missed them. I only mentioned that because I remember thinking last year that it had been a while since we saw one and if anything, you would think more angry people would have lashed out last year during all the COVID stress.
-
I'm not sure how everything is a conspiracy with some if you. Maybe stop watching people like Sidney Powell? Once you have one mass shooting, it's not uncommon to motivate another person to do the same. For whatever reason, we had almost no mass shootings last year compared to previous years. I was thankful for that.

My fault. I misread your post.

Why is land so cheap there?

Have you spent much time up in that area? It's a beautiful part of the state but it's extremely poor. We go hiking/camping/off-roading in that corner near Ducktown and there is nothing there. It's hard to even find a grocery store in some of those towns. I understand wanting to get away from people, but you may want to try and be a bit closer to Chattanooga. I don't think you will find fast internet in most of that area. I wouldn't want to live there full time but it would be nice to have a cabin there.

I thought that initially but now I'm not so sure they actually hit it the first time. I think they heard the rumble strip and freaked out. It's hard to tell if they actually hit the cables the first time. If the goal is to keep people from going across the median into oncoming traffic, the cable system failed. Had that median not been so steep they would have been in the opposite lanes. It's really a miracle this wasn't a lot worse. I'm not sure but I think so. We saw them moving around inside the cab but it was too dangerous to cross the interstate on foot right there. We hung around a bit and then continued on once it was clear the damage to their car likely wasn't enough to cause any injuries. I'm sure they all shat their pants.
-
I caught this single car crash on my dash cam today. This person was almost certainly on their phone and it nearly killed them. Does anyone know the purpose of those cable style guardrails they seem to be switching to? This sedan went right through it like it didn't exist. A note about the quality, the video quality was downgraded when I moved it to my phone. It's much better on my laptop.

A friend of mine was passing through MS Friday and they tried to stop in Tunica for the night. He said they tried 2-3 places and none had vacancy. Everyone was out blowing that stimulus check at the casinos.

That looks like it but the Saucer is described as a big shrub or small tree on wiki. This is definitely a tree with a main trunk. I'll see if I can snap some better pictures. There are 3 of these on our street.

3 different answers so far. We might need @Lumber_Jack for this one.

I know. In 11 years we've only pulled a few off her. Once we feel the tick, it usually takes 5 minutes to separate her coat and actually see it.
-
Interesting. The ones I knew as red buds don't have nice flowers like this. Must be a different variety as you mentioned.
-
Alright tree experts. I've been seeing these around town. What is it?

Pulled a huge tick off my dog last night. Nearly impossible to find in Husky fur.

I would assume they mean something like my Sig MPX. I'm not positive though.

One more hurdle was cleared yesterday as this passed the Senate. I get daily emails from TFA about this and they seem really dissatisfied with this bill but it doesn't seem that bad to me. They are unhappy with the parts in bold. "In 2020, Governor Bill Lee announced that he was going to file a “constitutional carry bill” in the Legislature. At the time, he stated “The Second Amendment is clear and concise and secures the freedoms of law-abiding citizens to keep and bear arms, … I am pleased to announce Constitutional Carry legislation today that will protect the Second Amendment rights of Tennesseans.” That bill was filed weeks later in 2020 and it was immediately clear that it was not real constitutional carry. Instead, it imposed limits on the rights of citizens to carry firearms by generally limiting the right to a) Tennessee residents b) who were at least 21 years old and c) it was limited only to handguns. That bill failed to pass in 2020 perhaps due to Covid. Governor Lee refiled his bill in 2021 as Senate Bill 765 (House Bill 786). It is one of 3 bills on this issue this year. It is not the most “constitutionally” compliant bill. As noted in prior reports, which are available on TFA’s News page, the Governor’s bill falls short of real constitutional carry. It is limited generally to those 21 and up and it prohibits carrying any firearms other than those that meet the statutory definition of a handgun under Tennessee law (not all handguns are “handguns” under Tennessee law)."

It's a mass shooting where 8 people were killed. Why wouldn't it be national news?
