Hernando Desoto Bridge closed I-40 Memphis

They built the Hoover dam in 5 years. I don't think they could do it in 15 today. Of course, 112 people died during the construction. We wouldn't allow that today. -

I agree, but that guy was also talking so fast I was having a hard time understanding him. He wasn't being very clear. -

Infrastructure is one of the few things that everyone agrees we desperately need to address but no one can agree how to pay for it. How do you find the money when we're already running a deficit like this? What are we even up to this year, $4 Trillion? More? -

Strange. Word hasn't got out here in the hood. It was business as usual at the local Kenjo/Shell station. -

How far are you willing to drive? From what I understand, Windrock is awesome. You'd have to spend the night somewhere though. -
I do wish I had bought more back when it was dirt cheap. Going forward, I'll do a better job about buying more consistently. I'm glad I consolidated calibers a while back. I would like to ditch .380 someday but my wife likes her little Sig.

From what I read, Knox City has 2 different types of officers in schools. They have School Security Officers(SSO's) and School Resource Officers(SRO's). It seems they are removing the SRO's but each school will still have one armed officer. Either way, it seems like a knee jerk reaction and a pointless change that won't accomplish anything. I'm still so disappointed in the community. The family calling for accountability needs to look inward. https://www.wate.com/news/that-is-not-our-intent-school-board-members-say-when-it-comes-to-knoxville-police-leaving-knox-county-schools/

Am I the only one who thought "man, Hershel cleans up pretty well"? -
This has been a "thing" for a while now in big cities. 50-100 people acting like idiots and I think they call it a takeover. I've even seen it on a smaller scale in Knoxville where 5-10 guys rode through the Old City on non-plated dirt bikes and ATVs. They blow through stop signs and disregard all traffic laws.

@Lumber_Jack any idea what it might cost to have someone trim that willow oak down? It's too close to the house and has clogged up all the gutters. I'm tempted to remove it completely but it's a pretty tree and I'm sure that's not cheap.

I spoke to a pharmacy tech today at Walgreens and she said their appointments have dropped significantly and they have more covid vaccine than they know what to do with. I gave up trying to get my parents to take it. They'll have to live with the consequences but I also respect their decision. I'm ready to lose my mask though. I think maybe 10% of members are still wearing a mask at my gym. -
I don't feel unsafe carrying my Kahr that's 7+1 but I recently got to handle a Springfield Hellcat and now I want one.

We just closed on our new house today. I'm gonna need help identifying some of the trees. Anyone recognize this huge one? My dad thinks it might be a sweet gum. We've got a ton in the backyard I'm curious about too. We also inherited new pets. Edit- pictures posted out of order. I'm mainly interested in the big tree in the front yard.

St. Augustine is great, but's it's not very big. After about 3 days, you may run out of things to see unless you are fine with hanging out on the beach the rest of the time or venturing out to some of the places people mentioned above. I'm one of these folks that can't sit on a beach all week but my wife can. I was going to suggest splitting your trip between there and Savannah if you've never been. It's a bit further away than I remembered though. 3 hours from St. Augustine to Savannah. Either way, I'm sure you'll have a great time.

I don't understand this. They claim they only come out every 17 years but some variation of these news articles happen every year. I hear cicadas every summer. I guess that some years are worse than others?
