Anyone doing anything for the inflation that is coming?
Erik88 replied to 45guy's topic in Survival and Preparedness
What am I supposed to do about it? I don't like it at all but I don't think we have any control over it. -
I don't understand why they put him on the stand. That's pretty rare and usually only when the defense is desperate. This case is winnable without him on the stand.

Two year old shoots herself with unsecured handgun.

I don't even have kids and I'm still mindful about this. If I know kids are coming to my house I go secure all the guns. -

Shoot I'm no expert on this. It's a mix of several things if I had to guess. We get way too much from China. We're basically seeing the delayed reaction to the quarantine. On a more local level, the shortage of workers here in the US is causing manufacturing gaps. I've also seen many manufacturers are being delayed because their vendors can't keep up. It just keeps trickling down. There is also really high demand for many products. Americans are doing a ton of online shopping. Another issue I've noticed is that a lot of manufacturers and distribution centers are using buildings that are old. When I worked at Keurig our goal was to produce 100 million kcups every week at a facility that only produced half that when it was designed. That's not a problem unique to them. Most of these companies try to run as lean as possible too. Demanding more and more from people. It only works for so long. People get burned out. A lot of these issues were present before covid and the supply chain was already stressed before this. We've barely been keeping up and covid/quarantine just unmasked the issue. The average truck driver is around 54 years old. It's only gonna get worse.

Yep. That's me. We're averaging around 88% on time delivery for my customer right now which is what they are seeing from their other carriers as well. It's rough out there.
-
Just passed 10 years in various supply chain/logistics/transportation jobs. 3 weeks ago I started a new job working for one of the nations largest truckload carriers as an account manager. It's a very interesting time to work in transportation. The back up at ports, shippers and customers is quite a mess. Trucking isn't sexy but it's fairly recession proof.

I simply don't care what people call themselves. Am I going to list my pronouns in my email signature at work? Absolutely not. If you haven't watched Chappelle's latest Netflix skit on the subject it's worth a watch.

I've got a mal mix(we think). Even the vet isn't sure. I doubt I'll ever have a better dog. He definitely didn't get the hyper gene though. He loves to go hiking but is also fine sleeping all day. I wouldn't get a pure bred Mal unless I was retired and needed a full time hobby. Someone once said they knew a mal that would eat plants because he hated they were alive. As a puppy Gunner looked like this(last picture). We were convinced he was a Mal. Then he got older and turned into a handsome gray bearded mutt. Definitely has a Pitt shaped head. Unfortunately, he's got stage IV kidney disease so we're spoiling the hell out of him everyday. He's been the best dog I could ask for. Mean mugging...

I'm really curious if the trigger is different than the 509 I handled. It had the worst trigger I've ever dry fired. It was so bad I made a comment and the gun store employee shook his head and agreed. Actually shockingly bad.

Baldwin shoots two on movie set, accidental misfire???

A lot of people jumped to conclusions on this one. Alec might be a douchebag, but I'm fairly certain actors aren't really expected to clear a gun on set. I bet most actors don't even know the difference in ammo types. -

Same. If it was in fact a live round, I'm pretty sure that's gonna fall on someone other than Alec. I believe there are weapons/prop experts responsible for this. I'm curious to know what exactly went down. -
A squirrel wearing a UT jersey was tailgating Saturday....

Well said. I'm pretty critical of UT but I've seen this exact scenario happen at numerous other schools. I don't know why folks are acting like throwing stuff on the field is a new issue. Drunk kids are going to do stupid things..

Not surprising at all since we always have to pick between only two terrible choices.

I can't remember if I shared this on here or not but your comment reminded me. Somewhere around 1998 my mom, my older brother, and myself flew to Minnesota to see my grandmother. While waiting to connect at the airport we all got hotdogs from a restaurant there. During those years my brother was obsessed with Tabasco and covered his hot dog with it. Fast forward to that night and the 3 of us are sick. My mom and I are HORRIBLY sick and my brother not as bad. We found out there was an E. Coli outbreak in hotdogs and we all likely had it. We can't prove it, but the theory has always been that my brother got least sick because the Tabasco killed some of it!

My mom told me that when growing up in Minnesota beef tongue was a special treat. Last year I was in Mexico at a nice restaurant and saw beef tongue tacos on the menu and remembered what my mom said. They were outstanding! I had 3-4 different types of meat that night and the beef tongue was the best. Y'all can keep the squirrel brains...

Correct. That's what the word overdose implies. They took more than they should have because the dosage is set for livestock, not humans. But again, I retract my previous statements and now encourage the use of animal Ivermectin. Their body their choice. Let's tell Biden to shove those mandates up his ass and let people choose freedom!
-
Exactly! They were probably both trained at the same location. Deep State HQ.

When they aren't being a nuisance, Opossums aren't bad to have around. I read recently they eat up to 4,000 ticks a week and they are not carriers of rabies.

Obviously he is part of the bigger conspiracy. We have no proof he's actually been vaccinated. There is a growing suspicion that Trump actually died from Covid last year and the man we're seeing is a body-double.

The latest from the conspiracy theory world. I guess Nolte will be fired soon. "With the death count rising, at least a few Republicans appear to be worried about what their party and its allies have sown. In an article this month for Breitbart, the right-wing website formerly run by Steve Bannon, John Nolte argued that the partisan gap in vaccination rates was part of a liberal plot. Liberals like Biden, Nancy Pelosi, Anthony Fauci and Howard Stern have tried so hard to persuade people to get vaccinated, because they know that Republican voters will do the opposite of whatever they say, Nolte wrote. His argument is certainly bizarre, given that Democratic politicians have been imploring all Americans to get vaccinated and many Republican politicians have not. But Nolte did offer a glimpse at a creeping political fear among some Republicans. “Right now, a countless number of Trump supporters believe they are owning the left by refusing to take a lifesaving vaccine,” Nolte wrote. “In a country where elections are decided on razor-thin margins, does it not benefit one side if their opponents simply drop dead?” No link-this was in a daily news email I get.

I'm not sure the Vols can either.
