Even if weight loss comes mostly from diet we should all still stay as active as possible. We lose 10% of our muscle mass each year after age 40. Occasionally I'll see a person in their late 70's and 80's that has taken care of themselves and seem happy. That's good motivation for me.

I don't see the issue really. I just saw on the news a family in KY survived the tornado in one of these. It was buried in their yard though, not in the garage.
-
For the extra reasons you wrote earlier. Have you changed your mind? They had no authority to stalk, pull a gun on, and then kill and unarmed guy. Nothing about that interaction was ok. They are not police. Was their story something different? If so I've missed it. I believe their claim was that he charged them and tried to wrestle the gun away. I lot of people would fight for their life if someone pulls a shotgun on them. I don't see how a video was needed to show this was wrong. In most states you can't do what they did.
-
I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. I don't think the video was necessary to know this wasn't a legal use of force.
-
No you didn't. No one here was saying that. Exactly what I was trying to say. His fingerprints on the gun didn't matter because nothing leading up to that point was legal. It should have been obvious to the prosecutor that there was no valid self defense claim for the shooter.
-
That shouldn't even matter. At that point Aubrey was defending himself because they had no justification for pulling a gun on him. If I go jogging and two guys pull a gun on me I'm probably going to try to defend myself.

We have plenty of facts here but my initial post didn't accuse anyone of that. I just said that had their not been a video they wouldn't have been charged. To me, that's wrong. I don't know how we need video to know you can't stalk and shoot someone just because you think they may be a burglar. I grew up in small town TN. Within the last ten years I knew cops in that town that would share stores of other cops harassing black people. One told me they "had to violate people's rights to catch the bad guys." So I'm not sorry for believing that in small town GA, race wasn't a factor in these charges being delayed. That doesn't mean I believe every cry of racism we hear now but I can see why people were angry about this one.

I probably should have said prosecutors in my last post. You're former law enforcement. Two bubba's chased and then pulled a gun on an unarmed black dude jogging in their neighborhood. What would you have done had you been the responding officer? I believe their claim was that he tried to wrestle their gun away. That doesn't even matter if they didn't have grounds to pull a gun on him to begin with. You know the initial prosecutor on the case has been charged with a few crimes related to this right? She's accused of protecting the shooters. So yeah, I'm fairly confident these guys would have never gone to prison had this not been caught on camera and I'm sure race played a role here.

40-50 years ago? Hell, they likely wouldn't have been charged had it not been on video. Cops didn't do anything until it went viral and people got outraged.

I stopped by Shoot Point Blank yesterday to do some shooting. I was hoping to snag a few boxes of 9mm but I couldn't stomach $25.99/50 rounds. They had a lot of ammo on the shelves. All different calibers. It does seem like their prices are coming down though. @Moped reported 9mm was $36 in July.

Are they saying it was one tornado last night that went through multiple states? Typically it's a series of different tornados. Friend of mine sent this of what was his sisters house. Thankfully they evacuated before it hit and were not hurt.

I think we've had a thread similar to this once or twice a year for at least a decade now. TGO hates Memphis.

The more I hear from Kyle the better he looks and the worse others do. He responded well to that. The fact that conservatives are trying to make him a hero is just as disgusting as the people trying to make him out to be a monster.

That's not want the author meant. He is saying that by having a treatment some folks might have less anxiety and fear about COVID since it lowers the risk of hospitalization. There were a few paragraphs before this I didn't include where the author was talking about people still living with fear of the virus.
-
For those that don't want the vaccine, I'm curious how you feel about a treatment? This seems like positive news. I got this in a daily email from the NY Times. Two treatments are on the way — one from Pfizer and one from Merck — and they will have both medical and psychological benefits. Not only can they reduce serious Covid illness, but they can also reduce Covid fears and help society move back to normalcy, lessening the pandemic’s huge social and economic side effects. Both Pfizer’s and Merck’s treatments are pill regimens that people take for five days after a positive Covid test. The pills prevent the virus from replicating inside the body and are broadly similar to treatments that revolutionized H.I.V. care in the 1990s. Pfizer’s version, which is likely to become widely available early next year, appears to be the more effective: It reduced the risk of hospitalization or death by 85 percent in a research trial. Merck’s version, which should be available sooner, reduced risk by 30 percent. One major advantage of the pills is that people can take them at home. Current Covid treatments, like monoclonal antibodies, are typically administered in a hospital. Another advantage is that they do not attack the part of the virus that changes most with each new variant: the spike protein. That’s why scientists expect the treatments will work even as the virus evolves.

If the info in that article is true then they deserve every charge. They should have sought mental help for their son and instead bought a handgun. -
It's interesting how the party that claims to be about freedom won't trust us with the devil's lettuce.
-
Good points. Everything comes with risk though. Just ask people taking opioids.

Go to your local store and tell them you want Delta 8. Don't waste money on CBD.

I don't have kids so I'll ask the parents here a question. We've seen so many examples now where a teenager has stolen a parents gun and done this. I'm sure none of these parents ever imagined THEIR kid would do this. Have any of these shootings made you reconsider your decision to leave guns unsecured? -
I mentioned this before but when it comes to actual fake news it seems to be more prevalent on right wing websites. I'm not talking about biased news we see on liberal outlets either. I also don't trust those sites at all from a privacy and security standpoint. If I see zero hedge I won't even open it anymore.

I can't help notice the media seems to recycle COVID as the main headline every time there is a slow period in unrelated news. As soon as something more interesting happens we stop hearing about COVID for a month or so.

I mentioned it before but I fondled a FN 509 a few months ago and it had the worst trigger I've ever felt.
