  1. All this gray area starts to become annoying...I wish the TN state website had it all spilled out for us a little better..
  2. I guess I'm not the only person who isn't sure.. 23 people have read this without a single response... I hope someone knows
  3. So unless I'm mistaken, starting very soon we will be able to carry to national parks such as the Smokies... But what about places such as the Cherohala Skyway which is part of the Cherokee National Forest? Does it have different rules b/c it's a national "forrest" vs national "park"?
  4. I would love that but the .357 sig ammo is expensive and also hard to find...
  5. I really like the value you get with the Bersa, congrats on your purchase...and ya, where did you find your ammo?
  6. The holster wear isn't that bad. I like to think of it as "honest wear"... Im going to hold onto it for a few weeks until i figure out what my next purchase is going to be. In the meantime I might ask $400 for it and see what happens.
  7. I have Glock 27 that I'm unsure what to do with. We got it used from a LEO for a steal a few years ago but I don't really care for the way it feels or the recoil. I'm still trying to find a gun for EDC and I'm looking at the Springfield XD SC 9mm. If I did decide to sell it what do you think is a fair price? It has some minor holster wear. Comes with 2 magazines and a kydex style holster. Do you think $425 is a good asking price?
  8. That's strange, he did say they had recently marked down their prices on the XD subcompact so maybe they caught on.. He also said he would price match.
  9. I stopped by Personal Defense Options located off Watt Rd yesterday and I was very impressed. Mike HcNabb was very helpful and professional and spent 30 minutes going over different options and even let me try out a few holsters... They are a small shop but they have a nice stock of Glocks, Springfields, Kel Tec, Kahr and many others. Their prices are reasonable and like most companies they offer a cash discount. I will NEVER go back to Cold Creek! These guys will have my business from now on and if you live in the Knoxville area you should pay them a visit. their # is (865)777-1010 Located at 13701 Hickory Creek Rd. Lenoir City, TN 37771....
  10. Ya I agree with you about Taurus, i love my 24/7 pro but I want something smaller.... So since you own both the XD and the Slim is there one you would recommend? I keep reading that people are having problems with the Slim... I do like the value you get with the Slim(only $370)... But the XD is also good value because it comes with a holster and magazing holster.... There are also more accessories available for the XD....
  11. So I'm having a hard time deciding on a gun for concealed carry... Some of the choices I'm looking at are the Springfield XD S.C, Kahr CW 9mm, and the Taurus 709 slim.... I like the XD the most but it is very thick and somewhat heavy for a S.C.. 26 oz!! The Kahr doesn't have a trigger or grip safety, but it is very light and thin... The Taurus has a thumb safety but I have heard mixed reviews about the reliability of both the Taurus and the Kahr... I already own a Taurus 24/7 Pro that has been completely flawless so I do trust them.. Oh, and I believe the Kahr only comes with one magazine!!! Any suggestions would be appreciated
  12. Check out this video by Nutnfancy... He also does great gun reviews and reviews of tactical gear... YouTube - nutnfancy's Channel
  13. I found it on another forum.... its lisa.knight@tn.gov
  14. I recently got to hold the Sig p238 and I was very impressed. I don't know if you can really compare it to the XD though because it is so much smaller, you should look into in anyways though because it seems like a solid weapon... The only thing holding me back is the lack of ammo available in .380 right now.... watch this review on it by Nutnfancy YouTube - Sig P238: Reference .380
  15. I emailed Lisa Knight today(Tuesday at that time) not to ask about my status but just to make sure they had me in the system because of a possible mix-up when I was fingerprinted... I was printed on 12/30 and to my huge surprise she said I had been approved on 1/11!!!!! I had to read it 4 times to make sure I wasn't seeing things... That was only 13 days ago!!!! She says it should be here within 14 days.... Anyone else have theirs approved this fast?
  16. I emailed her today just to make sure I was in the system and to my surprise she said it had already been approved!!!! I just got printed on December 30th!!! it's only been 2 weeks!!!! I couldn't believe it.....now we will see if it really comes in 14 days...
  17. Gunny's does the finger printing for free and I was told that other places charged up to $30 to have it done... Plus the drive to Maryville is a nice change of pace from Knoxville
  18. I'm new here so I will go ahead and apologize if this is and old subject but here is the first question. The woman at the DMV gave me some form to fill out and she said I would need to take it with me when I went to Gunny's to get fingerprinted. However the employee at Gunny's said he didn't need that form and all he did was ask for my ID and ask some basic questions...Anyone else have this happen to them? 2nd question: This seems to be very vague so I just want to clear this up before my permit gets here... As of right now we are NOT allowed to carry into such places such as Red Lobster, Applebees or others that serve alcohol correct??? What about gas stations and super-markets such as Kroger? My HP class was not very informative and it seemed the guy was not up to date on the laws...Sorry this was so long
  19. I was fingerprinted at Gunny's in Maryville on 12/28/09....So I should expect to have it by??????? Mid-March you think? hopefully sooner
  20. Hey everyone, I live in the Knoxville area and I'm a junior in Logistics at UTK..... Looking forward to getting my HCP within the next month!
  21. +1
