  1. I also wanted to mention that you have to first find a way to get people in the door! That will be one of the hardest parts because people are always weary of the unknown. This will be a HUUUGE investment.. But as the person above said.... CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! Another big concept they teach us at UT is "LIFETIME VALUE OF A CUSTOMER"....... Lets say you piss off a person by accident.. He leaves and you lose his business... You're thinking, ok no big deal I lost a customer... WRONG!!! You not only lost his business for life, BUT YOU LOST ALL HIS FRIENDS/ COWORKERS/FAMILY/ ETC that he complains to! just my .02
  2. I'm currently a business major at the University of Tennessee. One of the main concepts they push here is a differentiation strategy. What will your gun store offer or do that differentiates you from the other stores? Lower prices, better customer service, larger inventory etc etc... As I said in a previous thread the main thing I have noticed about gun stores is that most of the ones around Knoxville(especially Cold Creek:poop:) are rude and not helpful. If you could find a way to create an environment where you treat everyone with a warm greeting and had competitive pricing I could see a successful business. HOWEVER, I am not familiar with the Jackson area and therefore I cannot comment as to whether you would succeed in that area... But here in Knoxville, I think it could work...... hope this helps
  3. It won't let me put Mem phrica

    I'm torn G26 or G27

I have a Glock 27 that I dont care for. I just don't like the way it shoots.. But it all comes down to personal preference. I feel like the 9mm ammo is a better choice because it's cheaper and has less recoil.. just my .02...
  6. He tapped your pocket? Sorry, but if some dude started to reach toward that....area... of my body, I wouldn't have been to cool with it....
  7. I think I might make the drive down there. If anyone wants to meet up hit me a PM
  8. Where do you bartend?
  9. I was printed on 12/28, approved on 1/11 and guess what came in the mail today???? my HCP!!!!! Off to wal-mart now!!!
  10. Mine came today also!!!!! headed to go to the wally walk right now!!!!
  11. Yes, blueish green but only on a few rounds...
  12. I was searching through some old boxes and found some .223 ammo that I'm guessing is probably 20 years old. A few of the rounds have changed colors and some look like they have leaked powder... Many of the others look fine. Out of 80 rounds only a few look bad.. Is it safe to shoot these? Other than a chance of misfire, jam, etc... My friend is a LEO and has a brand new Colt AR-15 that he said I could come shoot... thanks for the help
  13. I'm having the same problem. I was approved on 1/11 and haven't received mine yet....
  14. I called the TWRA about this same question a few weeks ago. The woman on the phone wasn't sure so she asked her supervisor.. Her answer was that they did not enforce this but that it WAS ok to carry as long as you have your permit.
  15. uhhh... sry man not likely....It took modern warfare 1 a year and a half to go down in price... But no you guys aren't the only ones who play... Until I gave my soul to the University of Tennessee I played a lot!! Once I get out this summer I plan on enjoying some game time
  16. I'm amazed at how the woman with the kid just stood there while the shooting happened.....wasn't till after the dude was shot that she cowered behind the counter
  17. Has anyone seen this? Score one for the good guy! YouTube - TheArmedCitizen's Channel

  19. No idea what you just said.....can we carry or not?
  20. How do you guys find each other? I went to the show about 2 or 3 weeks ago and it was PACKED!!! are you allowed to carry there? Last time I went there were people checking in their guns but I wasn't sure if that only applied to guns for sale...
  21. ok, I haven't noticed if First Tennessee is posted or not... I do however notice the armed guard at the front....I definitely won't OC
  22. Are we allowed to carry in a bank in TN if they aren't posted? I keep reading on defensivecarry.com about all these people that carry into their banks in other states... Some even OC....
  23. Thanks Negative Nancy....you're .02 was so helpful
  24. So a friend of mine just sold me his Beretta Cheetah model 85f! It's a single stack .380! he also gave 2 nice holsters to go with it! The gun has only been test fired and is in mint condition! I almost don't want to shoot it but I what the heck, I've got to right? I'm not sure yet what role this gun will play but right now I'm wearing it in a De Santis IWB holster and it is extremely comfortable! It could make a great summer gun!
  25. Already have a Glock 27 that I'm not a huge fan of. Recoil is horrible and grip is not the best IMO.
