To the original post: I just acquired a Beretta 85 .380 and I have been wondering the same thing. Whatever you decide to go with Cabela's has the best prices I have found on .380 ammo... Cabela's -- Search Simple Product

Way to be rude guys...He is obviously new here so cut him some slack. If it pains you so bad to read the thread then don't bother posting on it....

So I have been a little annoyed by this for a while now and thought I would share what happened. I was home alone a few weeks ago when the following took place. I was downstairs in my basement(yes college student still living at home) when I heard the front door open. I immediately go into defensive mode and grab my gun that was beside me. This is not normal b/c my parents don't use the front door ever, nor do they come home during the day very often. A few seconds pass(seemed like hours) and I can hear someone moving around near the door. I am trying to plan what I should do next when I hear a deep voice say "hello"... This makes me somewhat at ease only because I don't think most robbers would announce their presence. But I wasn't taking any chances so I open my basement door looking up to find a repair-man staring back at me... Apparently my mom had hired him to work on the gas fireplace and decided I didn't need to know someone was going to be coming over.(she left a key outside) The frustrating part is that my parents are oblivious to the basics. They give me grief when I double check the locks and my step-dad is always giving me crap about my gun being on my hip, on my nightstand etc.... Any suggestions on how I can teach them to use a little more common sense? Sorry for the long thread...

In my short driving history I have been pulled over 11 times but only had 1 ticket... Speeding for the majority of them. I have been very lucky. I was pulled over on I-40 for going 110 in a 55.. (i was actually going closer to 120)... I told the officer I had eaten Japanese food earlier in the evening and needed to....use the bathroom... I was very convincing and he let me go.... But the other times I was very respectful..... There are still good cops out there guys.. Respect goes a long ways..

I just bought this belt in brown not long ago.. Very stylish and very tough! I now wear it even when I'm not carrying.. This is the best value I have found... Amish Work Belts - Brown

I agree with you guys, for as much money as a Kahr costs it should not require a break-in period. My primary carry right now is a Taurus 24/7 pro Compact.... I has been 100% flawless and I trust my life with it.... I will most likely never buy a Kahr...

Thinking about opening a gun store in the Jackson, TN area
Erik88 replied to 2000silverz28's topic in General Chat
I also wanted to mention that you have to first find a way to get people in the door! That will be one of the hardest parts because people are always weary of the unknown. This will be a HUUUGE investment.. But as the person above said.... CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! Another big concept they teach us at UT is "LIFETIME VALUE OF A CUSTOMER"....... Lets say you piss off a person by accident.. He leaves and you lose his business... You're thinking, ok no big deal I lost a customer... WRONG!!! You not only lost his business for life, BUT YOU LOST ALL HIS FRIENDS/ COWORKERS/FAMILY/ ETC that he complains to! just my .02 -
Thinking about opening a gun store in the Jackson, TN area
Erik88 replied to 2000silverz28's topic in General Chat
I'm currently a business major at the University of Tennessee. One of the main concepts they push here is a differentiation strategy. What will your gun store offer or do that differentiates you from the other stores? Lower prices, better customer service, larger inventory etc etc... As I said in a previous thread the main thing I have noticed about gun stores is that most of the ones around Knoxville(especially Cold Creek:poop:) are rude and not helpful. If you could find a way to create an environment where you treat everyone with a warm greeting and had competitive pricing I could see a successful business. HOWEVER, I am not familiar with the Jackson area and therefore I cannot comment as to whether you would succeed in that area... But here in Knoxville, I think it could work...... hope this helps -
It won't let me put Mem phrica

I have a Glock 27 that I dont care for. I just don't like the way it shoots.. But it all comes down to personal preference. I feel like the 9mm ammo is a better choice because it's cheaper and has less recoil.. just my .02...

Yes, blueish green but only on a few rounds...

I was searching through some old boxes and found some .223 ammo that I'm guessing is probably 20 years old. A few of the rounds have changed colors and some look like they have leaked powder... Many of the others look fine. Out of 80 rounds only a few look bad.. Is it safe to shoot these? Other than a chance of misfire, jam, etc... My friend is a LEO and has a brand new Colt AR-15 that he said I could come shoot... thanks for the help

I'm having the same problem. I was approved on 1/11 and haven't received mine yet....

Carry on Tennesse Lakes TWRA/Corps of Engineers
Erik88 replied to Justbo1901's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I called the TWRA about this same question a few weeks ago. The woman on the phone wasn't sure so she asked her supervisor.. Her answer was that they did not enforce this but that it WAS ok to carry as long as you have your permit. -
uhhh... sry man not likely....It took modern warfare 1 a year and a half to go down in price... But no you guys aren't the only ones who play... Until I gave my soul to the University of Tennessee I played a lot!! Once I get out this summer I plan on enjoying some game time

I'm amazed at how the woman with the kid just stood there while the shooting happened.....wasn't till after the dude was shot that she cowered behind the counter
