I don't know much about the FNP9 but if you like it then keep it. Save up your money for a few months and then buy a SR9. The good thing about the SR9c is that Ruger seems to be cranking out a big # of them so you won't have to worry about having a hard time finding one. Unless your just dieing to get one RIGHT NOW then take your time. And you can do like I did, take your coin jar down to coinstar and cash them in. Last time my dad did that it was $1000 worth of coins! Just a thought. Best of luck.

And I didn't mention that the only reason she liked the Kahr was because of the stainless steel. She didn't even hold it. Women sure are funny.

I would post pics but I'm not sure she would appreciate that:cool:... oh and I have never seen a Kahr PM9 below 600! Plus I was thinking it might be better for her to have a side safety. JMO though.

I went on a first date with a girl today and I couldn't believe what she suggested we do. She wanted to go shooting:love:. I met her down at Coal Creek today and she said she wanted to rent a gun. She told me her favorite was the Desert Eagle. I thought she was kidding until she walked into the range area practically dragging that thing behind her. Must say though, she shot it like a champ. We also shot a Sig p229 I think it was. She was a hell of a shot. Next date is this weekend TO THE GUN SHOW!!! her idea:D. She wants me to help her pick out a gun for her. Did I mention she also wants her carry permit? So, on that note. I need some suggestions on what kind of gun she should get. Obviously caliber isn't a factor, but I need some suggestions here. She liked the Kahr pm9 but I don't think she wants to spend that much. Thanks guys.

I didn't realize it was that important to clean the magazines. How often to you guys actually do that?

wow, I would think you had a forgiving LEO, but since this whole debate has been up in the air, maybe we really don't know what the law is( yes we know what it says but not what it means). As OS said there is a lot of gray area... Either way I'm glad it worked out for you.

NC Star light goes to lowbud
-
And I just got the light to come on again so with a little work it can probably get going %100 if someone is good on working with
-
I have an NC Star weapon light, it mounts to a handgun with a picatinny rail and maybe others. I bought it off ebay and it worked for a little while then quit. There is something wrong with the connection between the battery and the receiver thingamabob. I think anyone with a little bit of technical skills at fixing things could get it going. Wish I had something better to offer. PM me if your interested.

Good story about talking to someone about HCP!
Erik88 replied to macville's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I keep mine next to my drivers license and its visible when I get carded, no one has ever said anything other than a co-worker who saw it when I was getting money out. He asked me a couple questions and said he wanted to get his when he turned 21. A lot of guys mention they like to keep their hidden, but honestly most people don't look at anything other than the date and are to oblivious to notice what it is that you have. I'm a server and there have been several times when I have carded people and they have both their HCP and license visible, I've often wanted to strike up a conversation about it but I don't because some guys would be upset if I asked about it in front of who ever they are with. Some people with HCP's don't want anyone to know they carry so I don't ever ask. -
I have a Taurus that has been 100% flawless with a few hundred rounds through it... It isn't the most accurate but I love it. I have also owned a Beretta 85 FS, I never got a chance to shoot it but you could tell they make a quality weapon. It's going to have to be your call on this one.

Link? price?
-
Most of the people I have seen selling ammo on here have been selling for good prices. One guy was selling 1000 rds of .380 ammo for $360 which is a lot cheaper than you will find in stores

Those are strictly for hunting purposes right?
-
hey thanks guys, those were all great suggestions

TN has a zero alcohol limit for HCP holders who are carrying. Now just because you leave the gun in your car doesn't mean it's okay. The only way I think you could avoid trouble is if the gun was unloaded and the gun and ammo were not easily accessible. Some states allow permit holders to drink while carrying with a very low limit .02 I think. That basically allows you to have 1 drink and still be legal. I love to have a beer with dinner when I go out to eat so it would be nice if we could do that here but I doubt that will ever happen. My advice: don't drink while you carry even if it's in your car. If you do, make your wife friend etc. drive home.

I'm headed to pick up a Sig p238 today and I was wondering if anyone had a pocket holster they would recommend that won't break the bank. And yes I can do a google search, but I'm asking for personal experience with a holster. Thanks

Now that is pretty cool, but does he/she actually bring the dogs to the houses? Seems like most people wouldn't want a dog in their house...Interesting concept though
