  1. Going to have to disagree with Lowbud on this one. A vehicle is just as deadly as a gun or knife and until you are in that situation you don't know how you're going to react. I don't know for sure, but I would imagine I would have done the same thing if a vehicle was racing towards me(after I got the hell out of the way). Definitely a good thing you did not open fire though! Props for handling it well.
  2. Thanks, I'll look into that one. And I'm from Lenoir City also, wouldn't be surprised if we knew each other.
  3. No I completely agree with you. I would also like to take the defensive handgun workshop. Hopefully this summer I can take a few. Thanks again.
  4. Thank you for your help. I would love to take your class but it is right around final exam time at UT.
  5. I'm thinking about picking up a shotgun for home defense only. I won't be doing any hunting or anything else with it. I have 2 questions. What are the best shells for home defense, and what do you think about the models below. I only picked them because they were reasonably priced. Here are 2 models I've been looking at made by Mossberg. Does anyone prefer a pistol grip on a shotgun? Mossberg 50411 500SP 12 18 CB 6SH SYN PGK for Sale at Buds Gun Shop $315.00 Mossberg 500 Cruiser 12g 20" 8rnd CB PG for Sale at Buds Gun Shop $321.00
  6. Very nice response. Are you a member of Students for concealed carry on campus? Students for Concealed Carry on Campus - ConcealedCampus.com
  7. Interesting concept. I didn't realize a flashlight would fit in there.
  8. This poor guy was robbed 4 times at his business. He has been shot on 2 separate occasions and he killed several BG's. Check out the video YouTube - iq201's Channel
  9. Sweet blade! Is it a Kershaw?
  10. Is that a spare trigger you carry? Do you not trust your weapon more than that?
  11. You have all the high dollar stuff I want! nice!!! I especially like the Kimber.
  12. I have a night class that doesn't get out till after 8 and that is the only time I carry the pepper spray and flashlight. And UTK campus is not very safe, we get emails almost every week about robberies and home invasions on campus. Say what you want but I don't think carrying pepper spray is that extreme.
  13. .380 more recoil than .40 s&w? interesting
  14. you will be about 3 days too late my friend. He said that on the 18th. That ammo is long gone. I did go to the W.S wal-mart the other day and pick up a box of 9mm for only 12 bucks!!! If only they had any .380 ammo
  15. yes I realize this has been done before but it has been a few months, and I figured with all the new people such as myself that it could be interesting. Also, the last time someone tried to do this everyone turned it into a debate about smartcarry. So lets give it another shot. I will get us started. primary carry- Taurus 24 7 compact 9mm. It rides in either a Blackhawk Serpa or a High Noon Bare Asset IWB BUG- Sig p238 rides in a Nemesis pocket holster. Brown wallet is my actual wallet. Black wallet is my fake. I carry it on campus. Saber pepper spray. I only carry this on campus. Nebo LED flashlight+laser. I carry when I have my night class. Gerber of some kind. chap stick keys motorola cell phone(not pictured)
  16. well I don't have a 1911 and I don't know anything about a dremel. Only reason I am asking for help is because other people have used it for the same reason I need one...
  17. Jefferson city isn't very far. I'll pm you if no one comes forward around here.

    I'm Back

sounds like a fun trip. I sold my last car before I killed myself in it. Had a 2003 maxima that would cut off around 143!
  19. I felt the same way. I did learn a few things that I didn't already know but for the most part it was disappointed. The instructor I had was also less than adequate IMO. He couldn't answer many of the questions I asked him about the current laws. The shooting is a joke, I was 100% and I'm not a great shot by any means.
  20. I have a blackhawk serpa holster and I want to cut the end off to make it easier to conceal. I read about several other people doing the same thing. Would anybody(in Knoxville) be willing to let me come over and give it a shot? I will provide a cold 6 pack of your choice:D. Thanks guys.
  21. Ok, so I'm seeing that 124gr is preferred. Anyone want to give a shot at the second part of my question?
  22. Whats up with 115gr vs 124gr vs 147 gr with regards to FMJ. Are there any advantages/disadvantages to each? According to this guy 147 grain should NEVER be used. Ammunition For The Self-Defense Firearm My second question is this. How many rounds do you test of each type before you decide it is safe to carry in your gun? I want to find a good defensive round for my 9mm but obviously I need to test it first. But since it gets really expensive to buy these I was wondering how many I need to test to be safe. Currently I carry Remington JHP's. I have put about 30rds through my gun w/o any problems.
  23. hooooly smoke, that top part looks sharp! Does that not jab into you at all?
  24. Matthew, that makes perfect sense. No wonder they charge so much for a soda.
  25. darn you for being the reason I have only found 100 rounds of .380 in the last 2 weeks...And I'M the one that has a .380!!!!!
