See, yours is different than mine though. Yes it appears to be rounded off, but mine is only on one side and it is definitely not supposed to be that way. You should post a picture of your magazine and I could tell you if you have the old "ski ramp" style someone mentioned above. Apparently those were only on the first models. If your gun is newer than mine you should have the updated magazine.

Mine looks just like that but with the other black grips. I just wish mine was reliable. Hopefully yours will be flawless. When you get some ammo please post a range report.

Where in Knox/blount county can you shoot 50cal?
Erik88 replied to Magiccarpetrides's topic in Long Guns
If you're talking about the desert eagle then Coal Creek has one in their rental case. Ammo is sold as a pack of 5 for $15. Not worth it IMO. -
He never shot the gun. He bought it new and never shot it. He's a nice guy so I'm sure he will make it right if it comes to that but I was trying to deal with it on my own first.

You sent back a p238?
-
Well I was thinking the chip missing from the feed ramp has to be a machining error. I'm not expert but I wouldn't think it could be cause by shooting the gun.
-
has anyone had to send something back to Sig for work?
-
here is the best picture I could take. If you look on the bottom right part of the feed ramp you can't necessarily see the missing part but you can tell the shape is different.
-
I actually found the receipt tucked inside the owners manual but the dealer is 2 hours away. I might call sig first
-
Ya, not sure how well it will show up. I don't have a great camera and it so small I don't know if you can see it. give me a few minutes.
-
If anyone has a p238 and would be willing, I would mail you the old magazine. If someone would test it, then I would know if it's the feed ramp or the magazine. Just throwing out ideas here.

I bought it from another TGO'er so I doubt I could take it back to the dealer.

So I've had my p238 a few weeks now. Took me a while to find ammo for it. Last week I found 100 rds of Aguila 95 grain FMJ. Took it to the range and had several FTF's and a few FTE's. I thought it might be the ammo. However, when I broke the gun down to clean I noticed a nice chunk of metal is missing from the base of the feed ramp. I have no idea if it was like that when I bought it or if it happened while shooting. (if that's possible?) Friday my ammo from Cabela's finally came and I went to the range today. I shot 100 rounds of PMC 90 FMJ and again had several FTF's. Then I remembered something I had read online a few weeks ago. In another forum I saw where someone mentioned that the original magazines for the gun had problems and that the new ones were slightly different. Sure enough I compared the mag that came with the gun, with the mag that I purchased from the gun show last week and they are different. I started paying closer attention today while shooting and realized that the only time the gun wouldn't feed was with the old mag(the one that came with the gun) I don't think i had a single problem with the new mag. Do you guys think the issue with the feed ramp is one i need to worry about assuming the problem is really with the faulty mag? And do you think Sig will send me a new magazine if i tell them about the problem? Anyone have experience with their customer service?

No sir! I own a Taurus and I don't drink any of the Nascar beer you mentioned.

1991 Toyota 4Runner. Fire engine red. Big off road tires. Flowmasters, blacked-out windows, sound system, horrible gas mileage, most under-powered vehicle I've ever driven. I gave it hell 24/7. I once got air by going over a rail-road track way too fast. Loved that vehicle and still miss it.

I might have been a bit extreme in calling the SR9c a joke, I just felt like Ruger didn't make the gun as small as it should have been. Lowbud, I'm sure you would probably love either gun and both are priced well. It's just not a gun I would purchase. Best of luck.
-
Lowbud, my dad has the SR9 and I have put some rounds through it. Pros: Great shooter Very accurate High capacity Adjustable sights(unless I'm mistaken) Thumb safety if you desire to use it. Cons: I didn't think the slide was necessarily hard to pull as mentioned in the other thread, however the grooves on the slide are extremely sharp, too sharp! Apparently the gun can be de-horned by a gunsmith to fix this? Another con, the fact that Ruger had to recall it and the LCP makes me not trust the company. Some might disagree but that's just how I feel. Also, the gun just felt cheap to me. Can I ask what role this gun will serve? EDC, or just a toy? As far as the SR9c, I think it's a joke, The gun is NOT a compact, nor is it that much smaller than its big brother. It does not serve any advantage over the SR9 IMO. Hope this helps.
-
Both are overpriced guns IMO but if I had to choose I would probably go with the Kahr. Ask OhShoot about his, he seems to like it. Only thing I don't agree with is the fact that Kahr charges so much for the PM9 and that there is a 200 rd break-in period. I'm not sure if Walther has the same break-in period or not.

Familiarization with handguns at TTU...it's a real class
Erik88 replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I need to see if UT has anything like that I can take. That is pretty cool -
concealed is concealed.. my mom was at a Walgreens one time while it was getting robbed... It can happen anywhere anytime

My dad an SR9 and I thought the same thing about it. Not only is it hard to pull, it is extremely sharp. I love shooting it, but I would never buy one after using his. I think it's time to trade.

Jack, I think you did fine considering the situation. If nothing else it was a learning experience but hopefully you will never need to draw again! And nice avatar btw. -

I see your point, shooting at a vehicle isn't going to do much good(unless you are Mel Gibson in his newest movie). I guess if you are safely out of the path of the vehicle there is no reason to draw/fire. But it's also easy to say what should or shouldn't be done. I'm sure his adrenalin was pumping, still can't say I wouldn't have done the same thing. So would you say then, that a person should never draw unless they plan to shoot? I'm not saying I disagree but there have been many times where just the threat of a gun has ended the threat..food for though.
