The say Peppermint oil helps keep them away also. Might be worth a try.

About once every week or two, someone on the Tundra forum reports having massive wire damage caused by rodents. Sometimes it's bad enough to require insurance to pay for it. How do you feel about getting an outdoor cat?

I don't see us making any necessary changes or investments until we are absolutely forced to. By then, making those changes will be a lot more expensive and difficult. It's hard not to feel discouraged when I look at the problems that we're facing. Our inability to agree on anything is going to cause us to fall behind other nations. Interesting times ahead of us I think.

It could always be worse.

You have this backwards I think. Oil prices and oil production decreased after the pandemic started. By mid 2020 oil refineries in the US were laying people off because of decreased demand. It makes sense that they slashed production because you aren't going to just keep pumping oil you can't sell. Then in 2021 demand started to increase and so did prices. That production doesn't always ramp back up at the same pace. I'm sure much like every other industry facing a worker shortage, some of those employees went to new industries outside oil and gas.

I actually don't know much about this but someone on Reddit recently asked the same question. This article is from 2018 but explains why. TLDR from article: -Not all oil is the same. -Location. We buy a lot from Canada because it makes more sense for Northern states to get it from them apparently since most of our production is along the gulf coast. - Differences in quality. https://www.api.org/news-policy-and-issues/blog/2018/06/14/why-the-us-must-import-and-export-oil

Everything was cheaper before the pandemic.

Thank you. People seem to forget that the POTUS doesn't set gas and oil prices. In 2020, global demand for oil plummeted as people stayed home during the beginning of the pandemic. Production was slashed. Then as the economy opened back up and started firing on all cylinders, demand for oil outpaced production and we started seeing big price increases. Now add in the Russia mess and it gets worse. I read we only get around 7% of our oil from Russia.

$200/barrel would translate to around $5.80/gallon from what I'm seeing. I'm more thankful than ever that I work from home but I feel for everyone else. Even if we don't end up in an all out war with Russia it's really concerning how things are trending in the world. My wife and I both think we're going to see some really disturbing things in our lifetime.

I like that a lot as well. Is it safe to assume most of the manufacturers are about equal in terms of reliability? I assume like a lot of other purchases it comes down to personal preference.

Who makes the XT?

Thanks. I just noticed Honda calls it the CRF300 but when I pulled up the specs it's actually 249.6cc. They really rounded up! Did you get the ABS version? I see this one is liquid cooled which I assume is more complex but probably "better" depending on who you ask?
-
I like the look of that one a lot. It seems the CRF Rally is now a 300. Do you think that's too much power for a new rider? Also, in a emergency, could a 2nd person fit on the back of that? I can't tell if there is a 2nd set of foot pegs or not. Also, love the ammo box. Was that easy to mount?

Seems like more than anything else, politicians like getting re-elected. There is a lot of pressure to stop buying Russian oil and increase US oil production. I suspect that's what will happen but might take some time. $3.99/gallon by house today sadly.

He said cyclist so I assumed a guy on a bicycle.

I'm still most interested in a Dual Sport bike. I want to get a hitch hauler for my truck and ride down in Tellico. I saw a guy on one a few years ago and he drove right through the creek crossing on one of the roads. Water was probably 8" deep. It looks like he was having a blast.

I'm signed up for a two day class at Pellissippi State later this month to learn how to ride a motorcycle. The way gas prices are headed maybe I'll get a moped .

What would that be? Make us all buy a Tesla?

Springfield Armory trots out the new Hellcat Pro OSP handgun
White Goodman replied to TGO David's topic in Handguns
Of course, a month after I buy my Hellcat.... Thanks for mentioning that adapter plate. I didn't know that was an option. @Chucktshoes was trying to get me to do some slight modifications to my slide. My nickname on the Tundra forum is The Mangler so I've been reluctant to try it. -

This is a thread that is not about the Ukraine
White Goodman replied to Ronald_55's topic in General Chat
I was hoping you'd come join us on the east side. You'd make a good mountain man. Congrats on the move though. Change can be good. -
I appreciate those of you that keep this thread updated with funny and ridiculous content. It's a nice break from the madness in the world right now.
