  1. OS I knew you'd come through for us!
  2. I just want to say that I've been mostly a spectator on this thread but I would like to add that it could be one of the most off topic, dare I say epic, threads I have seen in a long time. 372 posts!! Thanks to the many members who have made it interesting. Mainly Jamie and Strel...... Strel's posts are like a word scramble with little to no meaning and Jamie's are just hilarious. Thanks again for keeping us entertained!
  3. Mike I've seen your fanny pack. It's actually quite fashionable I'm sure there will come a time when I tote the fanny pack as well. Hopefully by then I will be able to afford a Kimber too! For those that are wondering what Mike looks like. Here he is in the middle of the picture. ****PICTURE REMOVED BY MOD BECAUSE OF LANGUAGE**** and just for kicks(no pun intended)
  4. Pepper spray is pretty common on campus. Just about every girl I know has it on their key chain. I know knives are off limits. OhShoot is pretty handy when it comes to looking up laws, I'm sure he'll chime in. Basically I think the law says no weapons on campus with the intent to go armed... There is a lot of grey area there.
  5. the only time I had a somewhat odd reaction was at Wal-Mart. I stopped in on my way to the range to pick up some ammo. The manager at the sporting goods counter asked me if I was an off duty officer. I said told him I was not. I guess he realized that I was just a legally armed citizen with a HCP and he said. "well I have my handgun carry as well, but I don't carry it in stores as there is really no need" I just told him to have a nice day and went about my business. Why would he get his HCP if there is no need to carry it??? I should have reminded him that there have been many crimes committed at Wal-Marts around the country. What an idiot. And what is a handgun carry?? I think he was full of He didn't even know the correct term for his permit.
  6. It must be really hard for some people to follow simple directions.......
  7. excellent about your father and brother! I think more people are going to start to OC and eventually people will be more accustomed to it.
  8. I had a 24/7 compact. Good gun, never had a jam, stovepipe, etc. Wasn't accurate at all but the rubber grips and high capacity mags were nice. Good gun overall.
  9. I got it!!!! Caveman, you are just a scary looking dude period! Even without the gun I bet the got nervous
  10. bahahaha Mike I completely agree. I look like I'm about 15 years old so I am surprised myself.
  11. no worries, and yes I would like to see it more accepted as well!
  12. Glad to hear it, hopefully people will start to be more accustomed to it and it won't seem as taboo. I've OC'd at the wal-mart gas stations, grocery stores, buddy's bbq...all sorts of places w/o incident. I'm amazing that most people don't even notice!!!
  13. you completely missed the part of me saying please don't tell me why you don't open carry!!!!!!
  14. hahaha, ok. So who OC's anything other than an AK-pistol and an old revolver in hand?
  15. first off, this is not a debate about OC vs CC!! I'm not asking why you do or don't OC. I just want to know how many people actually OC. And I'd like to know what kind of reactions you have gotten. I will OC occasionally if I'm headed to the range or to certain places I know are gun friendly such as gun stores etc. I've never had a bad experience. Most people ask if I'm a cop. So, I'm just curious because I've never seen anyone else OC around Knoxville. I'm sure it's more common in rural areas however. So, if you do OC, how often do you do it and what kind of reactions do you get. Again, please don't turn this into a debate.
  16. man, I went to have a drink with some friends and I come back to find out all hell has broke loose on this thread..........
  17. ouch, that's no good. I would definitely call Beretta, but I've heard their customer service is horrible so good luck.
  18. I called Glock last week to inquire about night sights. Over the phone they told me you could get factory night sights installed for only $57 which seems like a great deal. I was planning on doing that but was going to wait because they said the turn around time was about 3 weeks. Stopped by a local gun shop on friday and they had meprolights for 89+tax. this included installation. I went ahead and had them do it. Cost me right about $100. They aren't as bright as I had hoped but they will work. If I had it to do over though, I would probably save a little money and just send them into Glock. On the plus side, these mepro's do have a 12 year warranty.
  19. Is that a 250?
  20. I'll throw down some money as well. I have sold few things in the classifieds here recently and I have more items to come for sale. I'll use that $$ towards the cause. Let's try to beat last years total!!
  21. oh man, you are going to hate your G26. You should sell it to me for 300 and cut your losses In all seriousness, the 26 is an excellent choice. Like Bronker I carry a 19 every day and love it. Next on my list of Glocks is a 17, 26, or 23. What kind of holster are you planning on getting?
  22. I hear what you're saying. Double action only trigger is just loooooong. Much different than a striker fired pistol like a glock. Long isn't necessarily bad, just different.(please spare the, that's what she said jokes)
  23. However, if you are dead set on the 250 Buds has them cheap!!! Sig Sauer P250 9mm Nitron Contrast Sight $399.00 SHIPS FREE
