  1. my ex gf has the dogs now but I still go see them. We adopted both almost 2 years ago. Kona and Porter
  2. The only responses that have surprised me so far are those that say they don't visit high risk areas....I think we would all agree that it can happen anywhere anytime. I bet the cashier at S&S cafeteria didn't think he was at a high risk area. Along with the kids at Virginia Tech, my friend that was just murdered in a retirement community last week.......the list goes on. I understand there is a difference from being in downtown Memphis vs getting gas at BP in West Knoxville. I realize these are much different risk levels but there are too many crimes committed in "good neighborhoods" for me to leave my gun at home. YMMV
  3. Thats a great idea. However Outback is one of the worst places I've ever eaten so I'm not that disappointed lol. Maybe I'll write P.F Chang's a letter.
  4. Greg, I completely understand. After several hours of carrying my G19 my back is usually killing me so I feel your pain.
  5. I'm not trying to argue with you. I just wonder why people get their permit if they have no desire to ever carry. I was hoping someone could provide some insight. Maybe there are other benefits to having a permit that I don't know about??
  6. This is awesome news!! They took the sign down before they adhesive even had time to dry!!! Make sure you remember to take it off the list of carry prohibited locations.
  7. I don't look down on them necessarily but it is frustrating. Why bother going through all the hassle of getting your permit and paying for the class if you are never going to carry?
  8. your situation definitely makes sense but I don't know if I agree with that last sentence. Most of the people I've met that don't carry, have no desire to do so. Either because they are scared or lazy, they don't carry. There are probably a lot of permit holders that have similar situations as yourself, but I bet there are even more than don't carry because of choice...
  9. probably right. they treat it like it's getting a new Iphone or something..kinda sad
  10. I'm curious how many permit holders in TN actually carry on a regular basis. Last time I saw the numbers there were nearly 300,000 permit holders in TN( I think) and I would bet that only a very small number actually carry. My dad has his permit but has yet to carry one time other than when we go hiking. He will carry it in his car but not on his person. My manager at work has her permit but I don't think she has ever carried. Most of the other permit holders I've met don't carry either. What is more disturbing, is that the majority of permit holders I've met have no idea what the recent law changes have been which to me is very irresponsible. So why do you think so many people get there permit and then never carry? Is it wrong for me to say it's a little frustrating? I personally think the more legally armed people we have on the streets the better. So when I meet permit holders that never carry it does bother me a little. What are your guys predictions? I would bet that only 20-30% of permit holders in TN actually carry on a regular basis. Maybe I'm way off but that's my guess. I think the majority of us on TGO are a rare breed.
  11. Terry if you need a ride holler at me! And I'm done to shoot either day that weekend.
  12. I might go check it out saturday morning. It will be a nice change of venue.
  13. I'm sitting outside on UTK campus right now loving every minute of it. It's as close to perfect as I could ask.
  14. here is what I don't understand.... how many customers do you think they had complain because they "had not posted".... my guess, zero. how many customers are going to complain now that they have posted....... a lot more than zero. you would think those numbers would speak for themselves.
  15. congrats to your son! please tell him to be safe out there
  16. this is not good. We might need to reconsider the restaurants that will not or have not posted thread....I'm going to delete the restaurant I work at from the list. We have not posted yet, but if we do I will quit. We've already been robbed at gun point in 2009. I won't stick around to let it happen a 2nd time.
  17. I think any of those guns would be a good choice. As far as the holsters go, I hear good things about the MTAC so you would probably love it. I carry in either a Crossbreed Supertuck Crossbreed Holsters > Home or a Kholser Kholster Both are great holsters and very comfortable however I think the Kholster provides much better value. Yes their ugly, but that doesn't really matter. Kholster
  18. you must have completely miss the part where the OP said he doesn't like Glocks. I will also say the XD subcompact is a good line. Although, if you don't like Glocks I don't think you will see a huge difference between it and any other polymer duty pistol. The Glocks, XD's and M&P's are all great choices. Perhaps if you told us what you didn't like about Glocks we could help narrow down a better choice for you.
  19. I guess he got lost on the way to sarasota?
  20. I think your putting a lot of emphasis on the "not have a butt thing". you've only had your permit a few days, wait till you get proper belt+gun+holster combo and see how it feels. I only pocket carry when I have to, and when I do it's a Ruger LCR. I actually print way more with the LCR in my pocket than a Glock 19 on my hip.
  21. spyderco delica or tenacious. Both good knives and neither one is too big. Spyderco Police Benchmade Griptilian I hear good things about the Zero Tolerance knives Kershaw makes some good knives
  22. I love PBR! Enjoy yourself today
  23. supposedly....some say yes, most say no.
