I'm just thankful I'm not trying to buy a house right now. The 30 year fixed rate is now 6.75%. I plugged that into my mortgage calculator and if I had that interest rate my monthly mortgage payment would be over $750 higher. Things are about to get interesting.

Kinda strange that Sig won both the handgun and long gun contracts. I remember the RFP for handgun was written in such a way that it was obvious Sig was going to get it. Sig quality does not impress me. My experience has not been great.

Who puts on the biggest Gun Show within two hours of Crossville?
Erik88 replied to a topic in General Chat
Someone is going to punch that dude in the face one day and take his zapper. -
And it sounds more premeditated and thought out than a meth head is usually capable of.

So what happens next? I feel like this is the 4th or 5th time I've heard how the ATF is trying to pull some shenanigans and then nothing comes of it after they catch a bunch of grief about it. Can they even change laws? Wasn't that the debate last time?

I feel fairly confident there was no price listed last night when I asked.

Price?

Is that the one where he unloaded on the robbers with a full auto rifle of some kind? I remember he had several encounters over the years. I thought of that story when posting this.

Horrible story out of Georgia. Proof that any place can be a target. https://www.newsnationnow.com/us-news/southeast/police-3-dead-in-gun-range-shooting-40-weapons-stolen/

for-sale 3rd Gen Tacoma (2015+) rock sliders and skid plates
Erik88 replied to JW3Percent's topic in Non Firearm Classifieds
You should list these on Tacoma world. -
We just put our youngest dog to sleep yesterday. My wife and I were not prepared for how much it hurts. Hug your dogs every day is all I can say. We don't get them for long.

Great post. I had no idea one could still find a used Glock for around $350. Years ago my older brother didn't own a handgun. I came across a Gen2 Glock 22 in decent condition and gifted it to my brother. He hasn't shot it much but still has it. Even though .40 can be snappy, that gun has little recoil and was easy to shoot. That Gen4 22 you linked is a great value. If I still had any .40S&W ammo I would be tempted to buy one.

Did anyone hear back from Olight? I got a tracking number 7 days ago but it hasn't actually moved.

I saw this on Twitter. The guy filming said it was a teenager driving the truck. It blew out his windows and his phone was sucked out. Crazy.

I had a thread from a few years ago where I was asking about converting light fixtures from a ballast to LED. Someone found it and commented on it recently. That wasn't the strangest part though. I now live in a different house with the same issue and I had just thought about it the day before. It really creeped me out.

Dog friendly Rental Home w/a Garage Needed. Nashville area
Erik88 replied to Ridin1's topic in General Chat
The rental market is as bad or worse as the buying market right now. You will need a miracle to find what you're looking for. You may have to settle for a dog friendly apartment. -
I bought a regular Hellcat OSP earlier this year. I'll be honest that I didn't enjoy shooting it at all and that's rare for me. I enjoy shooting handguns a lot more than long guns. It has considerably more recoil than I was expecting and more than similar size guns I own. I was having issues with the slide locking back because I was riding the slide stop. I had to adjust my grip to a position that really wasn't ideal for me but that issue stopped. I also had the worst groupings of any gun since I was a beginner shooter. I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. I'm by no means an expert shot but I can usually get a grouping I'm not embarrassed about. This is the first gun I've owned with a U notch rear site so that was likey the issue. I was getting better groups with my wife's Sig P238. So that's my take. It's a neat gun with excellent ergonomics and a ton of capacity in a tiny package. It was reliable aside from the slide stop issue which was my fault. I may try to install a different rear site and see if that helps.

Man I am just really skeptical of Sig quality. I love my Sig MPX but it is my most expensive gun and also the least reliable. They seem to cut corners on really important parts. My firing pin broke after maybe 1500 rounds. Probably closer to 1000. At least their customer service is great. I just don't see myself buying more Sig products when we have so many other options in every category. I do love the older Sig pistols that were still made in Germany. I'd like to have one someday.

I already had the class scheduled and paid for so I wasn't going to skip it. She's not thrilled about it but I'm trying to sell the idea that I want to buy what is essentially a street legal dirt bike and ride it mostly off road. Here's where we are in the negotiations. She says if I spend $5k on a motorcycle, she's buying this $5k purse she wants. So I have to decide how bad I want a bike. Might need to buy some self help books on negotiating.

I thought the same thing. I asked the instructor and he said it's miserable to teach in the summer. It was only 38 this morning when we started riding but I layered up and the only thing cold were my hands in my Harbor Freight gloves. By 1000 everyone was shedding layers and it ended up being a perfect day.

It's not allowing me to upload photos from my phone like I always do. It says the files are too large. Tried a variety of different pics and none worked. I even went into my profile and deleted out old uploads to make sure I had space for my account. Anyone else having issues?

I can now officially say I can ride a motorcycle. I passed the MSF at Pellissippi State today. It was a great two day class and definitely worth the $250. A few of the people in the class already have motorcycles and said they still learned a lot.

I got a tracking number for the new light they are sending me and I have no plans to send my old one back. I'll just stick it somewhere it won't accidentally turn on.
