This is how I feel. The signs in Florida do not have the weight of law and they ONLY place I have ever seen one down here was a pawn shop and gun stores.

I used to think about what I would do in an active shooter situation while unarmed on campus. You really have 2 options. 1) hide under your desk and pray. 2) rush the guy and try to overwhelm him. I'm not saying I would have had the guts to rush this guy in the theater, if I was far away I would have hit the floor hoped to live. I'm always armed at the movies but I don't know if I would have been able to get a shot off. I am surprised that no one close to the guy tried to charge him when he went to reload. Then again, I wasn't there and I'm not about to judge anyone in such a horrible situation.

This. Anything can be used as a weapon. This guy could have built a bomb and taken out the entire theater, he was definitely capable of it.

I'm not saying I have the balls to do it myself, but I'm shocked no one tried to tackle the guy like they did in Fort Hood.

I cannot get this event off my mind. It is bothering me a lot more than previous events and I don't know why. I have anger that I don't know where to direct and I feel horrible for those involved. One of the members on Glocktalk is a cop in Denver. He said the scene was absolutely horrible and chaotic and he experienced Texas post hurricane Katrina.

I agree but it's easier said than done. The natural reaction is to reach for falling objects. At least for me.
