I like that area of the plateau from cookville down to crossville. And yes, once you get outside the big cities most Tennesseans are great people.

It's just a game. I spent $4 on tickets. The lottery is fine if you can play responsibly.

I'm amazed this hasn't happened at Norris. I've been muzzled there a few times during crowded weekends. -
Yep just like Walmart guns are made cheaper.
woahhh now. We've already determined that is TRUE....
My sister's boyfriend has a friend in the retail business as a merchandiser, He says that most of the stuff that stores have on sale at extraordinary discounts are manufactured specially for the sale and are usually inferior quality as compared to the same item sold a month ago. He says that name brand clothes are made with cheaper material, electronics are skimped on quality components or parts are missing altogether, such as ports on a laptop or refurbished hard drives. He also said if you compare model numbers on some merchandise, you'll see that they vary slightly, like an extra letter or number at the end. This means it was made specifically for the retailer for the sale.
I have a hard time believing any of this. All of the things you mentioned seem like they would add more work to product by making them "different", which should raise the price.
News is reporting 2 people shot at Walmart in Florida I think they said. Haven't heard nothing else about it though. Recon what makes people act like such at a darn store! What has CHRISTmas come to? Dave S
yep, not far from me. Orlando is a cesspool though.

I heard it's terrible. I still plan on seeing it though.

Yep, I keep pictures in my email of all my guns. Unfortunately I don't have the receipts for the guns I got as a kid.
-
that's right, not sure where I got 10k. Thanks,

I have renters insurance through Geico(who actually uses another company). I specially asked about firearms and the guy giving the quote was really cool about it. He has a decent collection himself and told me how much coverage I would have. Don't forget, you are also protected through the NRA if you are a member. Up to 10K I believe.

I paid $720 OTD back in June(in Farragut) and that was on the higher side compared to what friends paid(Mac) Now it would seem I got a decent deal. Still a hell of a rifle for the money.
.380 is a terrible choice for a self-defense round. Sell your .380 and get into self-defense guns. Both your life and hers are worth it. Just because a gun is cheap doesn’t make it a good choice for SD.
This is terrible advice. My GF walked through the entire gun store and ended up picking out a Sig p238. If this is the gun she is comfortable carrying then that's a hell of a lot better than carrying nothing at all. .380 has killed plenty of people around the world. She'll be just fine.

My bad, I thought this was a new story. Either way, glad to hear the outcome.

She needs to keep the gun loaded.

http://www.justicear...-grocery-store/
SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) – A citizen with a gun stopped a knife wielding man as he began stabbing people Thursday evening at the downtown Salt Lake City Smith’s store. Police say the suspect purchased a knife inside the store and then turned it into a weapon. Smith’s employee Dorothy Espinoza says, “He pulled it out and stood outside the Smiths in the foyer. And just started stabbing people and yelling you killed my people. You killed my people.†Espinoza says, the knife wielding man seriously injured two people. “There is blood all over. One got stabbed in the stomach and got stabbed in the head and held his hands and got stabbed all over the arms.†Then, before the suspect could find another victim – a citizen with a gun stopped the madness. “A guy pulled gun on him and told him to drop his weapon or he would shoot him. So, he dropped his weapon and the people from Smith’s grabbed him.†By the time officers arrived the suspect had been subdued by employees and shoppers. Police had high praise for gun carrying man who ended the hysteria. Lt. Brian Purvis said, “This was a volatile situation that could have gotten worse. We can only assume from what we saw it could have gotten worse. He was definitely in the right place at the right time.†Dozens of other shoppers, who too could have become victims, are also thankful for the gun carrying man. And many, like Danylle Julian, are still in shock from the experience. “Scary actually. Really scary. Five minutes before I walk out to my car. It could have been me.†Police say right now they have no idea what caused the suspect to go on the dangerous rampage. (We will update as soon as we learn new information.) So far, police have not released the names of the suspect, the victims or the man who pulled the gun.
Has anyone actually read the treaty? I've only seen speculation as to what is says but I did find this article that claims the following
ection III, Paragraphs 7 and 8 of the Programme of Action mandate that if a member state cannot get rid of privately-owned small arms legislatively, then the control of “customs, police, intelligence, and arms control†will be placed under the power of a board of UN bureaucrats operating out of the UN Office for Disarmament Affairs.
I would like to know if this is true or not. OC always when hiking. Never had any issues.

I bought my Sport and that gun store off Watt road in Farragut/Lenoir city. $720 out the door. Not the best price I've seen but certainly worth it.
-
My prep list includes buying 1 brick of .22LR a month. Unfortunately my local WM is hit or miss. Today all they had in stock was the Federal 325 round bricks so bought 2. I'm tempted to pick up the 1600 round case of CCI rounds they sell for $98 but the 550 round bricks are still a better deal when you do the math. I agree with Mac about the Blazer but I've yet to see any since moving down here.

The fact that they might actually attempt this scares me a little but what really scares me is that the fact that the majority of gun owners would just roll over in take it.

When I move back to TN it will most likely be Knoxville or maybe Nashville. West TN does not appeal to me. For the most part, people are friendly, especially in smaller towns. Low property taxes, no state income tax, no toll roads, great weather, beautiful mountains in a few different directions, beautiful lakes, low cost of living, great gun laws(or lack there of), occasional snow, outdoor attractions, light traffic compared to other states. Perhaps my favorite part is that fact that English is still the most common language and you don't feel like a foreigner in your own country. Here in Orlando I often go into stores where I'm the only Caucasian. This wouldn't be so bad if people were actually friendly and said hello but few of my neighbors will even wave at me. I've been told I look like a "skinhead" I'm convinced TN has to be one of the better states to live in when you compare everything it has to offer, specifically East Tennessee. I pray I can move back soon.

hahah @ Mac....you crack me up.
