  1. I ordered a few as well. I wonder if they will send them to me even though I'm in Florida.   We shall see.
  2. Has anyone put any thought into buying a military style pack versus a hiking back. For example, a ALICE pack compared to a North Face.   I'm asking because a lot of people on other forums are going away from "tactical" packs due to the attention it might bring and I think they have a valid point. I originally dismissed this idea but I'm starting to agree. Military screams "gun" which will draw attention from police and others.   If I'm walking down the road with a Kelty or North Face back I feel I'm far less likely to draw attention to myself. Others argue the military type backpacks will be intimidating and keep the wolves away. That's a valid point but I think I'd rather be the gray man.   Now, if it's a real Mad Max scenario all bets are off and I'll be openly carrying a long gun so it won't matter what bag I have. But if it's a "get home" bag then I would postulate the first few days will be somewhat civil so I will want to blend in.   Thoughts?
  3. Ya I hate to say it but we are all adding to the problem. Those of you who didn't stock ammo months if not years ago have no excuse. You can't claim you didn't have the money because obviously if you can afford to pay 2x as much now you could have bought ammo months ago for a fraction of the cost.     Everyone needs to calm down, stop snatching up every box you find and let supply catch up with demand. If need be just hang on to what you have for the next few months until things settle down.
  4. down to 86 only 4 minutes after your post. I suspect it will last another 30 minutes tops.
  5.   But I got you to smile!      Sorry we ruined your ammo thread. While I appreciate the heads up I just can't justify .30 a round for steel cased crap from a company that openly rapes their customers.
  6.     Relax Francis...
  7. nope. Sold out.
  8. Funny considering Obama won Florida two elections in a row.
  9.   This^^. I will not support CTD.
  10. Big South Fork is amazing but I can't think of a trail that meets your criteria.
  11. That Land Cruiser is SICK!!!     Sadly it will be my 2012 Toyota Rav4. The only upside is that it has a lot more cargo space than one would imagine and gets about the best gas mileage one could get from an SUV.I get around 23 MPG city and 28 highway. I only wish the gas tank was a little bigger.     In the next year or two I plan on buying either a used Jeep Wranger or perhaps an old Tacoma. 4x4 trucks are not easy to find in Florida though.
  12. I don't keep up with it much anymore but I'm a Mark Martin fan also.
  13. I would take either one. They both look great.
  14.   I agree. During a long walk you're going to want comfortable shoulder straps. I had one of those Maxpedition gearslingers and ended up selling it. I went hiking with it and it was extremely uncomfortable. One strap does not distribute the weight evenly.
  15. Looks good. I keep a Maxpedition backpack in my vehicle and I built a bag for my GF's car as well. That looks like a really far walk so you may want to consider a slightly larger bag with at least 72 hours food and a way to purify water.
  16. One can never have too much ammo. I'm doing ok. I have a decent amount of .223 9mm and .40 but I won't be going to the range very often until prices drop and ammo is readily available.   I got this random idea 2 months before Sandy Hook that I wanted to stock up on .22LR. I was only able to buy 3-4 bricks before that happened but it's better than nothing I suppose.
  17.   I went by there maybe 15 months ago. There are no tours that I'm aware of and no reason to go unless you are hoping to have something inspected/repaired.   If you have an older Glock they will replace many of the parts and replace any magazine you bring in with new ones.
  18. Brian, I look forward to this story just like your previous ones. I have seen people on this forum get denied for purchases despite having a valid carry permit. I am curious to know why are denials are so much higher.
  19.   Thanks for adding this valuable comment Enfield...
  20. I still enjoy the show but it's pretty comical. Like you guys mentioned they make running one handed head shots on zomies with a revolver but can't hit a stationary person with a fully automatic rifle.
  21.     David, just curious why you(as an ammo vendor) would buy ammo from Wal-Mart. Is this something you can't get, or is Wal-Mart getting it cheaper than you can get it?   Are you reselling it?
  22.   Have you ever worked for a big company Dave? There is accounting, HR. finance, R&D, marketing etc etc. Each one of those departments likely has a manager and then a director.    Hell, at my company we have planning, tactical planing, global planning, demand planning, plant network optimization, operation, logistics, transportation, finance, accounting, HR, sourcing, IT, S&OP planning, marketing, customer care, sales, etc.
  23. Here is my point-blank response to crazy uncle Joe. KISS MY ASS!
  24. Federal. 45 is $32 here for 100 rounds. Good price
  25.   Sorry but I highly doubt it. I don't imagine any of the swing states will go red anytime soon. The GOP is all but dead.
