  1. My step dad has a 2005. It's been a good truck overall. The transmission crapped out at 100k which is a little weak in my opinion. He caught it early so the dealership was able to fix it rather than replace it.   He has almost 120k on it now. The V6 has plenty of power to pull his 19 ft ski boat. Gas mileage is pretty weak for a mid size truck though at around 15mpg
  2. Maxpedition makes a water bottle holder but it's not cheap.   http://www.amazon.com/Maxpedition-0315-Bottle-Holder-Khaki/dp/B001OO0IQM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1363056582&sr=8-1&keywords=maxpedition+water+bottle+holder
  3. I had one of these bags for a short period of time. I sold it to a member here on TGO to upgrade to Maxpedition.   There was absolutely nothing wrong with the bag. I regret selling it after seeing this thread.
  4. The GF and I did some hiking in Big South Fork over the weekend. We had a great time. We did the Burnt Mill Bridge loop. And of course my dog loved the snow Knoxville got on Wednesday. She doesn't get to see much snow in Florida.
  5. I'm growing more and more frustrated with the show. I wish they would focus more on survival and less on the drama.   How are they getting food, gas, toothpaste, etc?    You can have your pick of any vehicle in the world and you pick a two wheel drive Hyundai? Seriously?
  6.     You and I don't always agree, but I couldn't have said it better myself. What a tool.
  7.   was this in GA or FL?
  8. This may be a surprise to some here but it is possible these 2 were just friends. I know it sounds crazy....
  9.     Sometimes you guys really take it too far. Anyone who says women like to gossip clearly hasn't spent time on TGO.   This guy hasn't even been buried yet and we've already determined he was there to sleep with this woman who must be a cheating whore.   None of us know what happened and it really doesn't make a difference, even if their relationship was inappropriate Rodriguez didn't deserve a bullet for it.
  10.   Yessir. We're leaving tomorrow though. I thought about trying to organize something but just haven't had the time. We were only here for 5 days this trip so time was precious.   I should be back in May or June though.     ETA: I was actually in Johnson City for a few hours on Tuesday and I wondered if you were around. My GF's dad lives in Piney Flats so we met him for dinner up there.
  11. Wal-Mart at walker springs was bone dry today.    But they are selling mountain house food now so I bought that instead.
  12.   This is the only thing that would make sense for the situation that I can think of. Definitely not something you see often.
  13. Hmm. I haven't asked to stop the mailings so I don't know what the deal is.   If they don't see me something soon I'll be the first member in history to complain about the lack of mail coming my way.
  14. My membership expires on 3/31. Normally I start receiving renewal letters 6 months before my membership expires but I haven't received squat from them so far and we're down to the last few weeks.   Yes I realize I can renew online but I guess I enjoy it when they beg me for money. I may opt for the lifetime membership this time if the $300 deal is still available.    Is anyone else experiencing this?
  15. Florida's carry laws are more lax than Tennessee with open carry being the only exception. No gun signs don't have any weight and you can even drink a beer while you eat if you choose as long as you are in the dining room and not the bar. Not recommending this, just letting you know.
  16. I have been trying for a while now to figure out when my Winchester Defender 1300 was made. I may give them a call to see if they're as quick as Remington.
  17.   Wow. In an effort to not derail the thread any further I'm going to leave this alone. But you can bet the next time we meet at Hooters I'm going to bring it up!    By the way, I'll be in Knoxville in 2 days.
  18.   I cannot tell if you are joking or not. I'm learning towards sarcasm.
  19. They kept saying the guns "freeze up". I'd love to know what the hell they are talking about.     Also, I was wondering why KPD would have four .22LR's. I'm trying to think of a scenario where police would find that to be useful.
  20. I really admire you for doing this. I would love to hike the entire trail someday.   Sometimes I sit in my cube at work and day dream about being out in the mountains. Please keep us posed on your trip.
  21. I was shopping for a gas can back in November and was blown away and how "safe" they've tried to make them. I ended up getting one from Lowe's that has so many annoying safety features it should come with an owners manual.   I'd love to find a bare bones gas can that doesn't cost a fortune.
  22. My only revolver is a Ruger LCR. I chose to bring it with me on vacation this week along with my Glock 19.   There is just something about revolvers that I love. We're staying in a really bad part of Savannah GA for the next few days. Today while getting gas in a horrible part of town my girlfriend grabbed the Ruger out of my glove box when I went inside. I'm glad she can feel comfortable with it.
  23. Why on earth would you think it's acceptable to plant bamboo on property that doesn't belong to you?
  24. People need to relax or this will never end.
  25. We need to do something about these deadly automatic revolvers....
