    OUCH!

    Darwin, is that you?
  2. I rarely go shooting anymore. Just enough to stay proficient but never just for pleasure. I won't risk reducing my stash to a level that would make me feel vulnerable.
  3.   while I agree it would be expensive I highly doubt it would bankrupt them. If they are paying the workers union level wages I would imagine it might actually be cheaper in the long run for them to relocate.
  4.   I just made my own "MRE" using many of the things you listed. I plan on starting a separate thread on that.
  5.   If I may make a suggestion. When MRE's are left in heat(such as a hot vehicle) their shelf life is rapidly reduced. Additionally, I've never had one but I hear they taste terrible and will cause horrible constipation. Also, MRE's are expensive.    You should consider ordering some freeze dried food. MRE's last 5-7 years if stored properly while freeze dried food lasts 10 for the pouches or 30 years for the cans. The freeze dried pouches will be lighter than the MRE's and probably much tastier. The only advantage the MRE has is that you don't need hot water to eat it.   Here is what I've been buying lately.    http://www.thereadystore.com/food-storage/brand/mountain-house/mountain-house-just-in-case-essential-assortment-bucket   http://www.thereadystore.com/food-storage/supply-size/pouches?p=3     I don't work for The Ready Store, I'm just a very happy customer. If you sign up for their emails you become a VIP customer which earns you points which equals $$. Also, they will notify you of special sales via email. The run sales often but for the VIP customers you can call at any time and they will take additional dollars off your order just because you called.    If you decide to order, here is a coupon code for $10 off. If you spend $100 you get free shipping. I would recommend you call Marc and see what kind of deal you can get over the phone.   Marc Silva 800-773-5331x107   Coupon code-- 10C132
  6.   The sellers should have asked for ID but I believe Mac is correct that they didn't break any laws. I agree it looks bad but CNN's actions were much worse.
  7.   Typical Obama supporter....I'm sure you're proud of King Obama's push for gun control.    http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/54663-i-voted-for-obama/
  8. Didn't these guys break the law by purchasing guns in a state where they are not residents and no background check? I was not aware you are required to ask for ID for private sale.
  9. Get a separate filter. I have the Katadyn hiker pro on my wish list.
  10. I'd personally get a Gen 4. I held one the other day and it felt great.   I have a gen 2 19 and it's a great piece.
  11. It happens. I failed many tests at UT but always managed to pull out decent grades somehow. Don't assume you will fail the class just because of one bad test grade.
  12.   Didn't realize that. Good to know.   It's too bad they caps are no longer included. I'd like to get my hands on a few of the newest pmags just to compare.
  13. The only negative thing I've heard about pmags is that they recommend you don't leave them loaded longer than 2 years. This isn't a major issue but definitely a small advantage for metal mags.   I like pmags, especially the ones I ordered for $10 with free shipping right before Sandy Hook.   I also like the $10 C Products magazines AIM sells.
  14.   Why the heck would someone need 3 cell phones? How strange.
  15. That bag looks great. My GF got me a Kelty Coyote 80 today for my birthday. I'm pulling ideas from this thread to use for my BOB.
  16.     Ah, thank god! That's not a bad price at all.
  17. I really wish people would relax. The longer you guys keep buying ammo at a %100 markup the longer prices will stay that high.   Why on earth would anyone pay $26 for a box of target 9mm?
  18. How did the damage happen to the driver side front? It appeared you hit the guard rail on the right side of the road.
  19. OP, just stick some bamboo trees around your windows. Give it two days and they'll grow so thick you won't need tint.   ;)
  20. Great advice Rusty and Greg. Appreciate it.
  21.   Can you explain why I should avoid the financial advisor? Who did you open your IRA with?
  22.   She did not mention how much I would need to open the IRA. We haven't got that far into the conversation yet.
  23.   The girl I'm working with works for Edward Jones. Glad to hear you're happy with them.
  24.   I would love to buy a house but I need to save more for a down payment before I can do so. We really don't want to stay in Orlando for longer than 3-4 more years so we may rent until it's time to relocate.
  25. I was referred to a financial advisor back in Knoxville who will help me decide the best route to take.   She said it was very rare for someone my age to be this knowledgeable and interested in investing. I told her it's too bad Americans are more concerned with American Idol than their finances.
