  1. While buying ammo at Wal-Mart tonight there was a sticker near the register that said "no guns allowed" over a gunbuster.    I took it down. Not sure who put it there but it's clearly not Wal-Mart policy.
  2. Once you live in a state that doesn't allow open carry you will appreciate the freedom that much more. I OC'd several times while in TN and I can only  recall one negative reaction(Wal-Mart manager while buying ammo). Other than that most people were so clueless they never noticed and I had several people make positive remarks. I didn't do it to make a political statement and I was pretty selective on where I would OC.   I don't believe any of the open carry theories have ever been backed up back fact. I remember one dude in Wisconsin who was targeted because he was openly carrying but what we don't know is how many crimes have been deterred by OC.   I really miss the option down here in FL. There are some nice state parks near us that we go to and it would be much more comfortable if I could OC while on the trails.
  3. I got lucky last night and scored a brick of .22lr for the first time in months. I also got a 100rd box of 9mm and .380   My store has a 1 box limit.
  4. Figured I could just bump this thread instead of starting a new one. I picked up a Morakniv on amazon and I'm quite impressed. Lightweight, wicked sharp, and affordable. I could see myself getting more of these in the future. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004TNWD40/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The sheath does not bother me.
  5. So we spent the entire day Sunday planting bushes and flowers at our house and it decides not to rain for the first time in two months.   This is the first time I can remember in months that we've gone two days without rain.
  6. Thanks for sharing Chucky. Happy to see this.
  7. What's sad is how these people haven't let the capital since he was acquitted. They clearly don't have jobs and I'm sure taxpayers are sending them a check every month.
  8.   We passed through there back in March. I told Kelly the story about the elephant and being the animal lover that she is, was not amused at all.    Quite a strange story.
  9. It's nice to see more common sense for a change. This guys is very well spoken and I especially like the "we're not the federal govt. we can't just print money, we have to work within the constraints of our budget".   I love the fact that they received 58 hours of training. I need to do the same.   http://video.foxnews.com/v/2597558032001/ark-school-district-to-arm-teachers-staff/
  10. That was an incredible video. Makes me appreciate the drivers I bitch about in Orlando.   The guy walking in front of the semi was clearly intentional. And nuts!
  11. I had a Delica 4 for a while but ended up giving it to a friend. I had a hard time keeping an edge with it where as my Sage 3 is wicked sharp despite being used on everything from roofing shingles to scraping drywall plaster.    To be fair, I don't have a good sharpening method so I don't try very hard. My friend still likes it.   (can't post a picture, "you're not allowed to use that image connection on this community") never seen that before.
  12. Very nice. I prefer those over the ZT honestly.   I ordered 2 Kershaw's from Amazon the other day. They are offering $10 off $50. This will be my first time branching out from Spyderco.
  13.   True, but it only rains for 20-30 minutes and then the sun comes back out. I prefer it because I don't have to water my lawn.
  14. I think it's rained for at least 50 of the last 60 days here in central FL. I know we had 30 consecutive days of rain.
  15. I'm sure Midway is charging more for shipping than it actually costs as a way of making additional profit this way they can't be accused of gouging us on ammo costs.   I'm not falling for it. The Wal-Mart near my house got 10 bricks of .22LR in just the other day.
  16. I scored a 100 round box of 9mm last night(WWB). This is the first time I've seen FMJ 9mm at Wal-Mart in 8 months.   The cost was $25.   The Wal-Mart near me receives an BOL/inventory list for their shipments at 1300 every day but the truck is unloaed at 1830-1900. They advised me to call at 1300 and they would be able to tell me what they are receiving that night.   It worked for me yesterday.
  17. Renters shouldn't be allowed to vote?
  18. I will not vote for Christie. I don't see much hope for the Republican party at this point.
  19. I agree with Robert.   We get the government we deserve.
  20. Unless I need the funds I will never sell ammo. It's only going up in price and will last longer than I will so I see no reason to ever sell ammunition. YMMV.
  21. I spoke to a Wal-Mart employee yesterday who told me he received 10 325 round bricks of .22LR and it only lasted 10 minutes on the shelf.   I was able to score some .380   Off topic, TulAmmo has a new line called Brass Max. Wal-Mart had it in .380 for $14.97 per 50.
  22.     I'm not sure you can compare an isolated lightning strike to an EMP. I've seen lightning strike a transformer while cruising down I-4 and the damn thing sparked like crazy and the street lights went out.   If a storm rolls through and knocks out power to a city supplies are brought in from elsewhere to repair everything. The idea behind the EMP is that everything is fried(including vehicles) so there won't be help any time soon.   Again, I'm not an expert but you seem pretty positive it's a non-issue so I was just curious why. I hope you are right.
  23.   What makes you say this? What do you know about the grid that makes you feel this way? I'm not saying you're wrong, just curious what you know that makes you feel this way.(seriously, educate me because I'm curious).   Everything I've read indicates our power grid is decades overdue for repair and upgrades and much more fragile than people realize. Hell, look at how much work our bridges and highways need.   While One Second After is definitely a work of fiction the results of an EMP or massive solar flare would most likely be devastating.
