Titan? That's a Tundra buddy!

You like to joke but I hope I'm as active as you are when I'm your age........95 is it? Now, if you'll just ditch the apartment and buy some land you'd have even more to keep you busy. Plus, I will have a place to shoot when I come visit.

So I know it's a sin but I have a gas grill. Is is still possible to get good results on ribs via gas? If so, how long should they stay on? I'm just venturing into the world of grilling(just bought by first house) but so far I've had great results with NY Strips, burgers, and chicken. I'd like to attempt ribs next.

Things finally appear to be improving here in Florida. The store I visit during my lunch breaks has had more ammo on the shelves the past week than they have the previous 8 months combined. 9mm and .22LR is still difficult to grab but the other calibers are starting to sit. The prices for Winchester are really high though. I'm not paying $22 for a box of .380

Do you get any say in where you patrol or can they put you anywhere in the state? Also, is it a lot of driving around or actually pretty exciting?

I'd be interested in this.

That's why so many law enforcement agencies have adopted the XD line.....

In order to bug out one should have a place to go. I currently do not. I will most likely be staying put. If I must leave then we will be taking my crappy Rav4. At least it gets good mileage.

Instead of the media covering the racial aspect of this case they will use it as an excuse for more gun control.

That's a good point. My local WMT has been getting regular shipments of it as well. Time for an AK I guess.

Very nice. Congrats! That's a decent start with magazines but you need more.

I agree, but that doesn't mean we should discredit improvements in technology.

If .223 stays .70-$1 per round I won't be buying any. I'll keep the stash that I have for the end of the world and take up gardening :surrender:

You've opted for a Glock over your 1911's? Blasphemy!!

I never suggested this was some kind of conspiracy. What I'm saying is that there will be a point at which people will no longer be willing to pay for ammunition. My fear is that when that happens you will have fewer people who will stand up for their rights if they feel like they can't afford to exercise them. Since I've been shooting the price of ammo has done nothing but increase so I can't imagine prices will go back to normal levels. And Dave, I wouldn't call these small price increases. 20-40% for some calibers is pretty big, especially for those of us who do any significant shooting. I realize there is nothing we can do about it but I just wanted to mention it. I think the best thing we could do would be to stop buying ammo until things calm down, but that's easier said than done. Thanks for the comments so far.

Forgot to mention, Remington UMC bulk pack(250) in 9mm is up to $66 from around $51 before this happened.

I hope I'm not being too pessimistic but I really don't think prices are going to return to "pre Sandy-Hook" levels. It's been 8 months since the great Firearmageddon began and there really doesn't appear to be an end in sight. I stopped at the Wal-Mart in Orlando yesterday during my lunch break and to my surprise they had more ammo on the shelves than I've seen in the past 8 months combined. They had nearly 20 boxes of .40, at least 10 boxes of .45 and several boxes of .380 and .38. I didn't buy a single box because the prices were up significantly from what I remember. 100 rounds of WWB .45 is now $40---I previously bought a box of Federal for around $35 a few months back. 50 rounds of WWB in .38 and .380 was around $22 50 rounds of WWB in 9mm is now $15-previously it was $12 ish. 50 rounds of PPU in .40 is now $20---previously a box of .40 was $16-17 325 rounds of .22LR has increased from $14 to $18 .223 is still impossible to find at reasonable levels. The store didn't have a single box of .223, 9mm, or .22LR left in stock. I see the ammo situation as a bigger threat to the 2nd amendment than I do any politicians. If people can't afford these prices or can't find ammo at all they will eventually lose interest. I know I've cut back on shooting dramatically and ranges everywhere are reporting far fewer customers do to this situation. I hope I'm wrong but I really don't see things improving anytime soon. Thoughts?

The 19 is hard to beat. Concealable yet accurate and reliable. 15 round capacity but still lightweight. The 17 is probably the model everyone should own though. I have a G23 but I'm not overly in love with the .40 caliber. My next Glock will probably be a Gen 4 G21.

Good for you. I like my current job but I really hate sitting in a cube all day. My dream job would be a park ranger back in TN or a Florida Wildlife office. But as much fun as the job might be, I really like making money. It would be a 40% reduction in pay if I were to leave my current job and become a park ranger. I just can't do that.

I wish she was as mean as she looks. She is an absolutely useless guard dog. I'm slowly convincing the girlfriend our next dog will be a Belgian Mallinois to help hold down the fort.

The previous post is correct, the paste lasts a LONG time. I bought a small tub(2-3 ounces I think) probably a year ago. Since then I've used less than 15% of the container. It really doesn't take much. I followed their recommendation about heating up the metal of the guns before applying it. It's not required but they claim it helps. I recently bought the liquid to see if I like it better. I haven't had a chance to try it yet. Again, I don't know if it's any better than other products on the market but it's made in the U.S.A by a veteran and I don't have to worry about it being full of carcinogens so I'll keep using it for now. I do know that in the past the barrels of my Glocks would have a lot grime and lead build up that would be difficult to remove. Since applying this stuff one swipe of the bore snake usually does the job.

Congrats on the new pup. Here is our spoiled Husky. She has fun at the beach, But she prefers snow and ice cold ponds,

I don't know if it's any better or not but I'm positive that my guns take half the time to clean after firing. I also like the fact that it's non toxic.

NJ Governor Chris Christie Signed 10 Gun Bills Today
Erik88 replied to greenego's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I DO. Maybe to a lesser extent but it would still be happening. The NSA would still be spying on us(much like they did under Bush) and the other government organizations would still be abusing their power. -
I don't think it was a D move at all. I was standing on my porch once and a neighbor walked up with his dog. I wave, he waves back. Then his dog proceeds to take a massive dump in my yard. I'm thinking, "ok, no big deal, surely he will pick it up". Nope, that ass just kept right on walking. I was so mad I picked up the crap with a plastic bag and followed him to his house. I made it all the way to his doorstep then chickened out. I was going to either smear it on his door or just leave it there on his porch. My conscience got the better of me but I still regret not leaving it there. Fast forward to now. I'm a dogowner and a first time homeowner. I always pick up after my dog and it's really pissing me off that people keep letting their dog crap in my front yard.
