Man Robert, you've been in a cop bashing mood for a while now. I do agree this was a huge over reaction by the officer. The statement "why are you carrying a guy" says a lot. This is why I continually tell people not to bitch about open carry. Once you live in a state where it's not legal you will realize how important that right is and I really hope Florida eventually changes the law. The reality is that open carry is more controversial to the members of TGO than it is the general public. Florida Carry is a group of lawyers that are also huge gun advocates, they do a lot down here to help the cause and I wish every state had something similar.

Very cool of you. I bought my brother a Glock 22 as a way to try and thank him for his service and sacrifice. It doesn't come close but it's a start.

Very cool. Thanks for sharing. Exploring back roads on the weekends is something I really enjoy. We recently got to check out this empty 7,200 sq. ft. mansion. It was amazing. read more, http://www.abandonedfl.com/?p=3169 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Howey-in-the-Hills,_Florida

Ethical Question: Do you return a mistreated animal to the owner?
Erik88 replied to TMF's topic in General Chat
TMF, thanks for taking in the dog. I wanted to share something that happened to us just a few weeks ago. My GF works late, she doesn't get home until 0200-0300 most of the time. A few weeks ago I wake up to her making a lot of noise and my Husky is being really strange. It turns out Kelly was pulling into our driveway and spotted this emaciated dog wondering around. This poor guy(collar said Tucker) looked like death. You could see every bone, he had tumors and strange growths and couldn't stop shaking. Kelly brought him into the house convinced that he was some dog that had been chained up and starved. Long story short, the dog came from a great home and just happened to escape. The reason for his appearance and health issues was due to the fact that the dog was really freaking old. 18 to be exact. The owner was extremely grateful when we returned him the next morning. Things are not always what they seem. In your case, it sounds like you did the right thing. -
My first name and the year I was born. Lame huh?

What a D bag but I suspect this is not a rare occurance. -
I was going to say New Port Richie because it's on the coast but it's bigger than that. Why do so many snowbirds go to Zephyrhills?

I live in Lake County, we love it. What I'm saying is that the state is getting less rural and more "progressive" as time passes. Where are you from again, Astatula? One of my favorite towns is Mt. Dora.

Ya Pine Hills is by far the worst but Oak Ridge is right behind it. I'll be glad when we make it back to TN.

Most of Orlando is rough. I will never understand why it's known as "the beautiful city". The worst parts of the city are Pine Hills, Oak Ridge, most of Orange Blossom Trail, Goldenrod, the neighborhood directly behind the Amway center is bad. My black coworker calls it Mogadishu. People have even been robbed recently on I-drive. I'm glad we got the hell out of there. My drive to work sucks but it's worth it.

Nope. You've been gone too long apparently. A lot has changed since you left. There is a reason Florida helped elect Obama twice. Yes there are some podunk, backwoods towns in Florida but they are few and far between.

Watched it last night. I told Kelly that every big actor stars in one movie during their career that ends up being a total embarrassment. This film is unique because it was an embarrassment for several really big actors. Great cast, pretty horrible movie.

Need a good reason to have your safe professional secured?
Erik88 replied to vontar's topic in General Chat
I don't have a safe yet but when I get one it will be bolted down. I feel that my alarm system will most likely deter them from sticking around long enough to even find the same. -
If you look at the top of the mountain around the 5 second mark you can see the collapse start. Crazy.

I was very confused until I noticed the date was 2008.

I'm waiting for the famous quote from Dave...."back when I was a cop" It never fails.

Ya, and they all include a safety recall after a few months. :usa: http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Category3_750001_750051_757978_-1_Y

You know the thread is getting good when you read "sweet baby Jesus" at the beginning of a new post. Personally, I'm really cheap when it comes to clothes so I'm not willing to pay extra for American made. I do know the Toyota Tacoma I test drove a few months back was made from 70% US parts. I'm guess that's more than a lot of the Ford's and Chevy's I see driving around but I could be wrong.

More fantastic plastic with no soul. I'll keep my 10/22. Doesn't really make a damn bit of difference with .22 being so hard to find.

Obama offers new gun control steps

Obama didn't "offer" us anything as this article suggests. He TOOK our rights away and dropped a steamer on the constitution.....again. -
Pincus suggests verbally warning home invader
Erik88 replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I think we're making this more difficult than it needs to be but that's normal for us I suppose. It's really going to boil down to the actual situation that occurs and every one will be unique. You can't put a one size fits all approach on this. If someone enters my home and I feel that a warning will allow me to avoid the headache and legal issue at come after killing someone then I'm going to take that option(this is probably less likely). I certainly wouldn't suggest that anyone should retreat from their own home unless you are severly outnumbered and it's your only option. If someone enters my home and I feel that a warning will give away my position and put me in greater danger then there is no way I'm going that route.
