  1. A coworker just told me the FBI just released a report stating the shooter entered with a shotgun. The AR-15 was not his.
  2. I didn't get much from this article. Is it just a new series with different characters?
  3. Here we go again. When will people realize it just doesn't matter?   Yesterday it was a gun in DC(a gun free zone for all intensive purposes)   A few months ago it was a pressure cooker in Boston   On 9/11 it was 4 commercial airliners   In OKC it was a few hundred pounds of plant fertilizer.     At some point you would think people will realize we will never be safe. These events will continue to happen for the rest of our lives.
  4.   It's not one of my favorites. The grips are too slick and the pocket clip sucks.   Good knife but I will never leave the drawer in my kitchen.
  5. Aaron Alexis-34 from Fort Worth TX.
  6. Here is our guy apparently. Not your typical mass shooter. Unless of course it happened in Chicago..
  7.   Damn.   Sadly, even if this is true it won't deter the anti gun crowd from bitching about "assault weapons"
  8.   This^^. I'd rather him do that than speculate before all the facts come in. I fully expect him to push for gun control again.      I wouldn't be surprised if this was terrorism though but too soon to tell.
  9. Keep us posted on your brother Beretta. Hopefully all is well if he was able to call.   Black man? That's unusual for a mass shooting. Will be curious to hear what the motive was, other than the obvious=crazy!
  10. Man, that one kind of looks like my Kershaw Cyro...... ;)     Just kidding Chris. Very nice knife!
  11. Apparently they are saying an AR-15 or similar was used.   Thinking about all involved, hopefully the media is blowing it out of proportion.
  12. There was a shooting in NYC over the weekend as well.   Once again the officers completely missed the BG and hit two bystanders. Oh, and the suspect was not armed.   This comes just a few months after officers wounded 9 bystanders in NYC.   I know it's hard to hit under stress but they really need to think before opening fire in times square.
  13.   Here is a great explanation based on experienced and logic....rather than emotion.   Makes sense to me Gordon.
  14.   Why are you getting so worked up over this? Again, if you knew you were going to be shot at would you want to go alone? I sure as hell wouldn't.   That being said, I don't see how we would have seen a different result if one office responded alone.   I understand, and agree, with the point you are trying to make about SWAT teams becoming too common but I'm just not sure this is a good example of that power being abused.   I'm sure the call came in as "man threatening woman with a gun", not "107 year old gentle old man might just need someone to talk to and a nap"
  15.   Maybe I didn't fully understand the story because I typically agree with 99% of your posts Leroy.   It sounded to me that they tried several methods to get him to surrender and he didn't do it.   Did you read the 2nd article? The man had already made some questionable statements. I'm just not sure what they police could have done differently.
  16.   If you knew you were going to a call where you were probably  going to get shot at would you want to go alone?
  17. It's easy to judge from the comfort of your couch. Why don't you walk a mile in their shoes? PD's don't have unlimited resources to be able to sit and wait for someone to leave their house.
  18. My local Wal-Mart got in 4 1000 round cases of 5.56 tonight. Priced around $440. I was tempted but decided to hold off.   They still don't get consistent shipments but the one tonight was huge. They had 9mm, .38, .40, .380, .22LR .223 and a few others I think.
  19. There is a nice drive-in near Maryville. Been there many times.
  20. Wow. Holy crap David. That is amazing.
  21. What's the general consensus on the new Pentastar engine? I've heard it's a lot more efficient.
  22. I hope to have one someday.
  23. Great ending. Thanks for sharing. I hope they catch the POS. She needs to get an alarm or safe if possible.
  24. Well, I was in until I read this:   6. These will ship to a limited number of FFLs. Again, to avoid creating logistical nightmares as well as reducing cost, we're not going to have more than about 6    I can certainly understand why you would need to do this so no worries. I may see if I can partner with one of the TGO members in east TN since we visit a few times a year now.
  25. Someone already stated it but I will 2nd it. Costco-less selection but better quality. Sam's has more variety but the quality isn't as great.     The best of both worlds is BJ's but I don't think they have made it to TN. I get a free Sam's membership through work but since we moved it's not practical anymore to shop there.   We have a BJ's a mile from our house and we love it.
