The same thing happened to one of our members in East Knoxville. @Spots I think.

@Luckyforward, do you have any opinions on drugs like psilocybin(magic mushrooms) treating depression? I've been impressed by the limited reading I've done.

When you go to Europe they NEVER walk away with your card. You pay right at the table with a portable card reader. I've read that when Europeans visit the US they are confused and concerned when waiters walk off with their card. Thankfully more restaurants here are starting to let you pay at your table. Having said that, I worked in a restaurant for 6 years and I don't think that many waiters are stealing card info. It's probably more likely that people are falling for phishing hacks through their email and then info is compromised.

Wow you weren't kidding about them being rare. Is yours the super rare push pin model? "It is estimated that fewer than 400 HK41s were produced and even fewer imported into the U.S. for civilian consumption. Today, HK41s can sell for anywhere between $4,500 and $9,000 depending on the condition and the economy at the time. An original 1966 model with the push-pin hole in the receiver can sell for around $37,000. "

And yet none of this is somehow going to be solved by more Government.

If you don't want your kids to see that, don't take them. Claiming this legislation is for the children is oddly similar to the left claiming they want to ban weapons for the children. It's an attempt to make us all feel guilty if we don't agree. This had absolutely nothing to do with children. If our state legislature really cared about kids there are a lot of other topics they could have focused their efforts on. Your kids are likely in more danger from their local Priest/Pastor than anyone dressing up in drag. It's just sad that out of all the issues the legislature could be working on, this is what they chose. A solution to a non-existent problem.

And also a great host of Unsolved Mysteries. One of my favorite shows as a kid.

Maybe this will clear up any confusion. Commenting on pictures where a young man is basically nude with and along with telling him "you can turn a rainy day into rainbows and sunshine" Nah, definitely not gay...Just a confused old man I guess.
-
I haven't seen proof he's come out as gay. He's married to a woman and has two kids. He says he believes in traditional marriage. He spoke out against allowing gay couples to adopt kids. All the while hitting on and grooming young boys. If I missed something let me know. As far as I can tell he's still denying having those feelings.

What a joke. I hope he comes out of the closet. Must be miserable living your entire life pretending to be someone you're not.

Weeks like this make me think our entire financial sector is just a scam that has been propped up by rock bottom interest rates for a decade. It feels like monopoly money. "Stonks only go up". I would not be surprised if the entire house of cards comes crashing down in my lifetime.

And I'm positive that no one at these banks will be held accountable yet again. When people complain about the rich, these are the assholes I have in mind. I have no issues with some self made person that found wealth through hard work and entrepreneurship. Like you said, these people in the financial sector are something completely different. I think my uncles in Minnesota are starting to retire as wealthy men after farming for 40 years. They have worked hard and benefitted the country along the way. I would never complain about someone like that.
-
Interest rates go up and down over time. How did these banks not see this coming? Greed?
-
Can you expand on this for those of us(me) that don't understand. If a bank owns a mortgage and those customers are still paying their mortgage payment, why does this matter? My wife works for a title company and we've been seeing her pay checks shrink every month as they close fewer homes. I'm curious how much worse things will get.

I don't think anyone is saying that. And that's fine. Most people seem to think MPD's issues are wide spread and started long before they murdered Tyre Nichols. Sometimes an event like this is the catalyst needed for change. The fact that they are taking this seriously and show willingness to make changes seems like a good thing to me. How often have we seen departments come to the conclusion they did nothing wrong?
-
I could be wrong but I thought the Scorpion division drove unmarked Chargers? My point was that you've been critical of every change they have made so far so I'm curious what you think they SHOULD do. They murdered him. If they didn't make any changes they would be getting criticized for that too. Unmarked police cars should not be used for traffic violations. I shouldn't have to wonder if the person behind me is a legitimate officer or some idiot impersonating an officer.
-
I think murder is a better description. Why do we need unmarked cars for traffic stops? What sort of change would you approve of after the Tyre Nichols murder?

What they said above me is right. I will admit tipping culture is getting completely out of hand. Some businesses are too cheap to pay their employees enough and they are trying to pass that cost to the customer. I don't tip a lot at places where I have to walk up to a counter to order food/drink. Those aren't servers, they are cashiers. If my tab at a place like that is $50, I'll throw them a few bucks if they were friendly but I'm not tipping 20%. Also, restaurant prices are so expensive I'm eating at home a lot more.

The assumption was that if 10% is good enough for the church it was good enough for us.
-
I waited tables for 6 years. It's well known in the hospitality industry that the Sunday church crowd is one of the most difficult and least generous group to serve. We all hated working Sunday morning.

Tell me more about this. Are you using Microsoft flight simulator?

I enjoy working on my vehicles. Until 5 years ago I had never changed my own oil. Last weekend I replaced my lower control arms on my truck. It took me 8 hours but I enjoyed the challenge. Still not sure I'm brave enough to attempt the timing belt. I bought an electric dirt bike last year that I've enjoyed riding and also working on it. My wife and I enjoy traveling (her more than me). Last year we went to Spain. This year we're going to Finland and Estonia. I also enjoy working on my house. I'm trying to work up the motivation to lay tile.

Do you still trust Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson and Laura Ingraham
Erik88 replied to Links2k's topic in General Chat
Carlson and Maddow both used this defense and won. They are more alike than they are different. A federal judge on Thursday dismissed a lawsuit against Fox News after lawyers for the network argued that no "reasonable viewer" would take the network's primetime star Tucker Carlson seriously. https://www.businessinsider.com/fox-news-karen-mcdougal-case-tucker-carlson-2020-9?op=1
