That is ridiculous. We barely fund our public schools. The last thing we need to do is pay for private school security.

I think we're at the point of needing an SRO at every school. Private schools like this need to pay for their own though. We just have to hope the SRO does a better job than the one at Stoneman Douglas.

That is already similar to what is happening. Hospitals have to treat people without insurance. To make up for this, they rape the insurance companies anytime someone with insurance has to be treated. So those of us with insurance are essentially subsidizing those without. Our premiums continue to get higher and higher and that's just to have a policy. If we actually get sick or injured, most of us have to fork out thousands of dollars until we hit our max out of pocket. What we're doing today is not working.

Nothing is going to change. The democrats had control of the House and Senate and didn't do anything. They will continue to threaten us with gun control every time this happens. The Republicans will continue to blame mental health then refuse to actually allocate funds for more treatment.

My dad is 66. His generation was taught to suck it up. Talking about your feelings was considered a sign of weakness. I agree that we may have coddled younger people too much but I think there has to be a balance between that and how we stigmatized this in the past. My dad lived with depression most of his life and didn't go talk to anyone until he was almost 60. That was a mistake.
