  1. I wish it wasn't so far. I love GSSF matches so I'm sure I would enjoy this. Mayble I'll try to make it to one of the 3 days.
  2.   I'm a tiny guy and I've been comfortably carrying a Glock 19 for 6 years now. Lately I've even been carrying a Glock 17.   I don't want to derail the thread but you first need to start with a good quality belt. There are a ton of options but I love my Wilderness Instructors Belt.   Once you've laid the foundation there are 1000 holster options. I've had success with a Crossbreed Supertuck for IWB and a CompTac Paddle holster for OWB.   PM me if you want any more help. If I can carry a G19 I think anyone could.
  3. I think I'll keep buying non-American made pistols just to get under your skin Dave. :) All kidding aside I really do like a lot of Ruger products. I love my LCR and my 10/22 and someday I'll get a GP100 and a nice leather holster to accompany it, but this new pistol does nothing for me. I'm sure Ruger will sell a butt load of these simply because of Ruger's outstanding reputation and the fact that it may likely be priced lower than the competition. Also, salesman like Steelharp will steer people towards these simply because he likes them. ;)
  4.   You summed up what I was going to say. I wouldn't say you're getting screwed but also not an amazing deal. It looks to be in like new condition from the pics though.
  5. One thing I like about MAC is that he can't be called a fanboy. He gives everything a fair shake. Hell, the guy EDC's a Sphinx. Who in heck carries a Sphinx? His reviews tend to have a bit more weight in my book but that's just me.
  6.   You took the words right out of my mouth. You start to lose credibility with me when every gun you review is outstanding.
  7.   And on the flip side we have already seen folks here on TGO who will defend it simply because they love Ruger. Facts and first hand accounts be damned.
  8. While ugly as sin, I really like my Ruger LCR. I've had it almost 6 years now. Most people say the LCR trigger is noticeably better than the Smith but have never fired a S&W so I can't give an opinion. I'm sure you can't go wrong with a 442 though.
  9. All kidding aside, I think it's more likely that the dog is allergic to something you're giving/putting on the baby.   Our husky has never had a problem around babies or kids.
  10. I don't know about dogs but I'm definitely allergic to babies which is why I strongly encourage my wife to stay on the pill. :)
  11. I'm just happy I made the cut.
  12. Random thought. I wonder if it only works for Benefactors?

  14. M.A.C with Military Arms Channel didn't have very good things to say about the new gun in his latest video. It's worth watching.   Cliff notes: I may have left a few off each list   cons above average recoil for its class shoots to the left for everyone that has shot it fat grip which is chaffing the thumb knuckle of everyone that shot it price point-similar guns have more features at a lower price above average weight for its size horrible trigger reset slide releases on its own when inserting full magazine Pros   good trigger takeup reliable safe takedown for cleaning-no trigger pull required.
  15. I was just able to block someone. I can see where I quoted their posts but I can no longer see the original post.   Go to your user name on the top right and then click "manage ignore pref"... Follow steps from there.
  16. I sold my last .40 a year or so ago.   I have nothing against the caliber but I prefer 9mm or .45.
  17. Pennies count my friend. :)
  18. I want to save more and spend less. We will have our Rav4 paid off in 2016 and I want to set aside money for new floors and a pickup truck. I also want to exercise more with my wife. I can't allow her to get chubby... ;)
  19. Blue Label Gen 4's only come with 3 magazines.
  20. We have Lifeshield but I would NOT recommend them. We pay $34.99/month.
  21.   I was suckered into buying 3.     They also have Troy battle mags for around $8...
  22. 3 for all except for the 42 and 43(I think).   Gen 3's only come with 2.
  23. FYI. Primaryarms.com has the Magpul Glock 17 mags on sale for $11.99.   Shipping is pretty cheap too.     http://www.primaryarms.com/mag546/p/mag546/
  24.   My dad has an SR9 and I've spent a fair amount of time with it. Musicman touches on my thoughts below. The fit and finish is not on the same level as many others. I even think the XD's are far better.   The trigger on my dad's pistol was gritty and the position of the thumb safety gun my palm open when I went tried to rack the slide.     I'd say the price is speaking to people more so than the design. I've also seen people point out the SR because it's "pretty"... While I admit they are good looking guns I'd rather have function over looks.
  25.   Calm down guys. I never said anything about S&W revolvers. I'm talking specifically about the M&P semi autos.
