  1. Agreed. My wife's 238 started showing some pretty unusual wear on the barrel(metal actually disappearing). I sent pics to Sig. They agreed it wasn't right and sent me a new recoil spring. I'd give Sig a call and they will probably take care of you.
  2. @Murgatroy part of me wants to be angry for the same reasons but another part of me thinks he would have just purchased a gun from a private seller. I am really disturbed by the fact that mass shootings are becoming all too familiar. It wasn't that long ago that something like this would have stayed in the news for months. Now it will likely be ignored by the media within a few weeks(just like Vegas). It's sad that I have to discuss possible escape routes with my wife for her work. I'm not advocating any new laws be passed but it's hard to deny we have a problem. As a country we seem to have cornered the market on mass shootings. I think we're going to get to the point that any mass gathering is going to require a high level of security. The future looks bleak when I think of what's likely to come. I'm picturing a police state that is "justified" because of repeated attacks that will continue to get worse. We're probably at the point where we need a school resource officer at every single school. My county already does that for the most part and I think it's a great idea but sad that it's necessary.
  3. Here is another longer interview. Good samaritan retrieved AR-15 with EO tech from safe, ran barefoot to the church and engaged shooter at about 25 yards. Had conscious of mind to aim for his side where he thought shooter didn't have plates.
  4. This was posted on Reddit, "I knew this guy. He went to my high school. One of my closest friends dated him. It has been known for ####ing YEARS that he is insane and dangerous. Multiple instances of abuse, and stalking my friend for years on social media (scared the #### out of her). #### this piece of ####, but also #### the system that ignored all the signs. My entire body went cold when I read his name, but I was not surprised." I have to agree with @gregintenn, it seems we're not doing enough to keep guns out of the hands of crazy people. I'm not sure how it can be done though. At minimum, we need better treatment.
  5. Someone on another forum said he knew at least 13 of the victims. This would be difficult for any community but I'm sure it will be that much more heartbreaking for such a small community.
  6. Pretty sure I have a few of these. Thanks for sharing.
  7. I have a 1" Streamlight on my 870. It's positioned just right so that my thumb can press the push button.
  8. Yikes....
  9. It's only logical for us to try and understand what would motivate a person to do something like this. Simply being crazy isn't much of a reason, even if it turns out that's all there was to it. I think it's unusual that we haven't heard anything.
  10. If the M&P is so great why has it not been adopted by any military units around the world? They are not expensive so you can't blame it on cost. Why does Glock still dominate the law enforcement market? Texas DPS had to transition back to Sig after having so many issues with the M&P's. Atlanta PD had to get rid of theirs as well.
  11. Until the past few years, nothing really matched the size, weight, and reliability of Glock. I've never been a big fan of Beretta. Sig quality isn't nearly what it used to be, and H&K's have historically been really expensive. Keep in mind that all of the companies you mentioned are trying to make guns that rival Glock. Why is that? Glocks are ugly, not the most ergonomic, and no longer innovative but they usually work very well. I do agree that as of 2017 there are probably better options for $500 than a Glock 19.
  12. I will admit that for $399 I could live with the horrible trigger. That's a steal.
  13. I handled one of these today and really like the grip and texture. It would probably be a bit abrasive after several hundred rounds but not horrible. I have to admit the trigger was a big disappointment. The take-up was long and gritty. That's really the only negative I could find. It's odd that S&W would improve every other aspect of the gun but still can't produce a decent trigger from the factory. I'm guessing this could be improved with an Apex upgrade..? I'm going to hold out and see if I can ever find a CZ P10 to fondle.
  14. That is outstanding. I'd love to have an Ed Brown someday.
  15. Is it a dual spring(gen4) or the older style? I think I may have a spare gen4 G23 spring I could send you to try.
  16. I'm sorry to hear that. Hopefully someone else will chime in but I'm almost positive that the 29 is bigger than the 27. I don't think the springs will match. Could he just leave it loaded and not mess with running the slide?
  17. Would it even fit properly? I wouldn't think so but I've been wrong once or twice. I hate to say this but it honestly sounds like it's time to switch to something easier for him to use. G29 is a lot of gun for an elderly person.
  18. Thanks for sharing this. I recently lost my Stylus Pro and have been meaning to order another pocket light.
  19. You should be able to find one under $500 based on what I'm hearing. Some shops here are around $460-475.
  20. Very sorry Doug. It sounds like she lived a good life.
  21. Fat chance of that happening. Our expectations are completely unrealistic IMO...
  22. Didn't exactly make us proud though....
  23. How are you liking the P10 so far? I've tried finding one around town but not had any luck. The guys at SIA said they can't keep them in stock.
  24. I keep $40 I'm my wallet and some emergency cash in our vehicles. That can in the vehicle has been helpful at least once.
  25. Very very sorry to hear this.
