  1. School Name: Knox County Sheriff's Handgun Carry Course Location: Knox Co. Training Facility Primary Instructor: Sgt. Mike Lett HCP Class Cost: $85.00 Website: Phone number: Your Personal Experience: Took this over the weekend with my fiance. Great information was provided in the course as related to use of force and basic firearm handling. There was no particular 'agenda' pushed about armed civilians like you occasionally read about on the internet, in fact they were very positive about armed civilians. Up to date and current on the changes in the law, including the current restaurant issue. The firing range is indoor and top notch. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to take a handgun carry class.
  2. Sadly, my milsurps have been neglected these days. I need to go back out now that the weather is getting better. Here are mine: 1903 Springfield manufactured in 1921, re barreled in '42 M1 Garand - Spring of '42 manufacture date w/ lock bar sights. Probably saw Danish service at some point as it has a VAR barrel. Mosin Nagant M44 - picked it up for $50.00 way back when, dated 1944 Soviet Production. Edit - tried to post some pics but I guess I don't have enough posts - sorry.
  3. They mention "have your serial number ready" in the info letter they send out. Maybe they run the numbers during the course (of course, how stupid would have to be to show up with a stolen gun at the police training course)? My fiance and I are going to share my G22 unless she has trouble shooting it this weekend. Thanks for the info.
  4. Yeah, I was talking to him about the course at one of the January shows -he 'twisted' my arm to pick up a Glock 22. I've heard good things about the course, I'm looking forward to taking it.
  5. $85.00, although I like your idea better.
  6. Thanks jcj - that was what I was looking for. I guess I won't sweat the discretionary rounds.
  7. Hello all - newb alert. My Fiance and I are taking the KCSO handgun permit class next month, and I was wondering if anyone knows what the range qualification test will be like. I know its going to be 48 rounds per person, but I'd like to know how many shots will be fired from each distance. It looks like each class does something a little different, and we are going to try and get some range time to practice before the class, so any information will be helpful. Been lurking around here for the past few weeks, but I haven't been able to find an answer to my question after some searches. Sorry mods if this should be in tactics instead of carry.
