  1. LEO are really supposed to carry only in schools while on official buisness. You just reminded me of why I prefer a Kholster over a Supertuck. The crosses really draw attention.
  2. No doubt about it, the Sig 220 is a mighty fine firearm.
  3. I am still waiting on a order from before Christmas.
  4. You don't, it's all about having nice new stuff and bragging that you are a CALEA agency.
  5. I was told that the last time the Catoosa County Sheriffs Department(GA) switched from Gen3 to Gen4 Glocks it cost them $79 a piece. I don't know what these agencies have paid to trade their Glocks for Sigs. Edit: I just now remembered that one agency received grant money to upgrade to the Sigs.
  6. Police Departments are no different than any other large buisness. They often make choices and purchases that are less ideal. I don't think this is a bad purchase but I do feel a 45acp has some flaws. Low capacity and poor performance against body armor are two of the biggest. The 1911 that someone saw most likely was a SWAT guy. Other than the CALEA consideration departments get new guns because they get great tradein deals.
  7. They wouldn't be able to compete with the US government selling firearms.
  8. Even more ironic that Volkswagon chose a old WWII ammunitions plant for their operation.
  9. Even though the Sig 220 has been around for ages, it is becoming adopted more than any other handgun by departments. East Ridge PD and Chattanooga PD have had their Sig 220's for about 2 years now and they love them. Really KPD is breaking away from the heard because most everyone by them uses G22 including KCSO.
  10. Someone may have already mentioned it but there is this thing called a CALEA Certification that it and $99 gets a sweet tea at McD's. Anyway to be a CALEA certified agency your hsndguns must not be more than 4 years old. Long guns can be older. Really the whole thing is quirky, but it kind of brings up morale in the department, makes everything look great, and the probably justifies more pay for the brass.
  11. There was one on gun owners club last night that read; "used, but like new in box but it doesn't have a box".
  12. Double post.
  13. I'm not trying to get you fired up but you are the type guy they don't want to sell a car to. Like I stated there is more money for them to make financing a car then selling you a car 90% of the time. The reason dealerships charge a doc fee is because a long time ago some jackass decided to sell cars cheaper and make up the difference with a doc fee. So everyone else decided to sell cars cheaper to compete and added the doc fee. Ask when you go into a dealership what the doc fee is and just keep that in your mind when negotiating. I don't care how much the doc fee is. All that matters to me is the trade difference.
  14. Someone has already mentioned it but with what I know about colleges nowadays I bet this will be gang or related to a revenge incident.
  15. I have spoken to someone, a life long family friend in management, that stated the distribution warehouse's are about empty so store orders are not being taken. Eventually ammo at Walmart will be back to normal.
  16. That actually sounds a little high but it may be market price now. Yes, it is a 2nd gen and will accept the larger magazines from 59 series.
  17. I have experienced your pain way too many times myself. It never gets any easier and you never forget them. Most of mine have been Labs also, their memory really sticks with you. The best thing is to get another one tomorrow.
  18. Also .17 hmr, 22-250, and as far as pistol the .40's haven't been too hard to find.
  19. Does Volkswagon realize a large majority of guns are in their parking lots as it is? Do they realize a lot of states you can keep a firearm in a car without a permit? This is a company that asked a uniformed police officer why he was on the property if he wasn't called.
  20. The Walmart in Brainerd had a lot of .40 self defense, (2) 45 acp self defense, 7mm, 7mm-08, 30-06, 270, 243, .17hmr, and shotgun shells. No 9mm, .380, .357sig, .38, .223, .22
  21. The academy on 153 has .35 Remington ammo.
  22. Terrible executive protection team. There is no reason why a attacker should have been able to get that close to the principal.
  23. Is that the 20rd boxes?
  24. What EMTRN said is fact. Some states the insurance company will Get with the DNV to suspend plates and license but I have never seen it in TN.
  25. What a surprise, they are normally outrageous on everything.
