There was a crap load of .40 s&w at the Ft. Oglethorpe Walmart this morning. Very little of everything else and no 9/45/223/22
-
Sounds like a familiar story. Supposedly I have a friend of a friend with a 44 auto mag from the 80's that he has never been able to find ammo for. Obviously these do not require moon clips, but can the round be used in 9mm that normally require a moon clip?
-
I really wish these ammo manufacturers would just produce more ammo instead of inventing new calibers.
-
I'm up to speed now. I was thinking of something else.

Truthfully a 357 is so much more versatile I would not bother with a 9mm revolver. If I were a police officer or security guard that for whatever reason a 9mm would be less hassle I would but that is so few of people it's almost not worth mentioning.

The Walmart in Brainerd had about a dozen boxes of 5.56 WWB but it was $13 a box today.

Someone asked about Large Patch, treat it with a fungicide in the early spring and fall. To reduce the chances add very little supplemental Nitrogen. Honestly, of all turf grass, Zoysia needs less feeding than any of them. Keep a sharp blade on the mower, water sparingly, and rinse off the morning dew with the test cycle on your irrigation box. Someone mentioned the look during the dormant season. I have had customers in the past with beautiful clean warm season lawns tell me the get more compliments about their lawn during the winter. A completely weed free dormant lawn looks great in the winter. If it is a mixed, patchy lawn it looks terrible. I still generally recommend against zoysia, especially further north than Chattanooga. I normally recommend seeding Fescue or sodding Bermudagrass. Honestly though, the brown patch and drought is so hard on Fescue in S Tn that I recommend Bermudagrass when the light conditions are appropriate.

Let's see, a 9mm, small, with a safety? A 9mm Shield would be great. The recoil is more like a fullsize pistol. Shields are hard to find though.

Recommendation for HCP instructor in Chattanooga
Patton replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Fugates in Calhoun(above Cleveland). It's $50 and since they gave two instructors they can cut the class to only 4hrs. This means you don't sit around and wait while others are on the range shooting. -
I have been around the turf grass industry my entire life, unfortunately. Understand that zoysia grass is a warm season turf grass that requires a minimum of 5-8 hours of direct sunlight a day, which honestly is just a little bit more than a fescue grass needs. If you have this much sunlight and live in southern TN I normally recommend Burmuada grass. It is a more heat and drought tolerant turf, faster recovering, and you can use a lot more chemicals to keep it nice. I am a huge fan of Bermuada grass and most people have all the wrong ideas about it. My biggest complaint about Zoysia is large patch, this is a fungus somewhat resembling fescue brown patch. The large patch is very costly to treat and is not very successful. Also, Zoysia is a thick hard to cut turf but with a good horsepower mower you will. It notice except for frequently dulling blades. I will say that if you have enough sunlight and want a turf to just do it's thing. Zoysia will pretty much look good naturally. He chokes out a fair amount of weeds naturally and requires very little supplemental nutrients.

I don't know what it is but the Shield's have almost no recoil. Even the .40 is a joy to shoot. It's been a while since i have shot a Taurus slim or a pf9 but I remember them being a handful.

No confirmed body yet. The media jumps the gun. -
I don't think I could even intentionally squeeze the trigger of one of my j frames while it's in my waist. With the long trigger pull and having to rotate the cylinder at the same time.

That place is known for fairly high prices. They do have some neat stuff that will take you back in time. They have lots of old ammo boxes, gun accessories in old packaging, and stuff your grandpa had. I will say that they are fairly nice there though. It's one of those places you actually want to buy something.

My father almost shot me when I was a child utilizing the method of riding the hammer forward. My mom thought someone was outside and cocked the hammer back on a revolver. When my dad got home he didn't know I was on the other side of the wall when he was trying to ride the hammer down. His sweaty hands caused his thumbs to slip and the gun fired. The round couldn't have come more than 1 ft from me.

An attorney for the two women has stated they do not want to sue . They only want compensation for medical, missed wages and that kind of stuff. I'm still shaking my head on this whole thing. -

Pretty much. I have met some hardened sick criminals in my life, some will open up and talk. Those guys that will kill a cop will kill anyone and stop at nothing. -
Gov’t-Issued Identification Not Needed To Pass Through TSA Security

Yeah it's a secret that they don't want you to know. I used to be a cop in Hawaii and frequently we would have tourist get their purses/wallets stolen so they would have to just get a thorough pat down and preferably show the police report. I even DUI'd a few tourist and seized their DL. -
I have seen more .223 today than I have seen in a long time. GT's had a bunch and the reloading place in Ft Oglethorpe had .223 and about everything else except bulk .22lr.

There is something bad bad wrong here. Not one but two vehicles shot up thinking it is the suspect and it is not. -
I have not looked into it but since it is a crime for police agencies in TN to destroy working guns I don't know how they would do a gun buy back.

Walmarts have been putting boxes out at random times. A friend of mine was told to only put out 5 random boxes per hour when no one is looking.

I understand lefties feel left out but if your thinking about tactical reloads you need to be carrying a larger gun anyway. These pocket guns are BUG's or guns I use when I don't suspect trouble. The 5/ 6 or 7 rounds are to get me out of there while I'm running. I'll reload in my car or get a bigger gun.

I have never used one but I have studied them a lot. Expect to make only about 30-40 rounds a hour. If you do this route a hand primer is a must, otherwise you will eventually have a primer detonation scaring you to death.
