A couple of things, I am more accurate with a NAA Mini than my LCP, P32, or j frames. My Cobra derringer gas actually been 100% reliable firearm but it takes some planning to deploy and fire it. It has Heavier trigger pull and a heavy hammer to pull back. Honestly the Cobra (.32H&R Mag & a great round) is about as big as the p32/LCP. The NAA is a lot smaller and I carry it almost all the time. It is very seldom the NAA is my only firearm being carried. It is very easy to learn how to effectively pull and cock the NAA and fire. I actually don't even think of it as a single action because it is such a second nature. I really miss my 22lr version, I sold it to buy the magnum. A lot of people buy the short and cut the tip off of .22lr bullets to shoot out of the short. I knew a guy that carried the short in a pack of cigarettes. I know someone that has a friend wearing a .22lr mini velcrowed inside his hat.

I can hit milk jugs at 25 yards with aNAA 22lr. They are great quality, very easily carried, and a blast. Unfortunately I sold my .22lr to buy a 22 mag version. I miss the .22lr, I think it was a little bit more accurate than .22lr out of the magnum version. I strongly recommend the slightly longer berrels.

Co-worker says it's illegal to have more than 10,000$ on your person?

Sure, but it is not on qualification standards. -

dlm37015, a dog will sit on any substance that has traces of drugs on it to include clothes, money and even possibly metallics. However dogs are not trained to sniff out money and it is not part of their qualification. My brother's friend's, second cousin's neighbor, Yadayada.. I do not know those landscapers nor do I know those cops. I try not to watch the news at all because they will present all the facts from one side of a case and not the facts of the other. I grew up around nurseries and have been landscaping on and off most of my life. Most of the landscapers I have met have used drugs, that's the reason they are a landscapers, but anyway I am sure there was more than just the fact they had money that led the police to believe they were rotten. -

^He probably didn't even care what you said, he was evaluating your speech, smelling for alcohol and such. I have asked a drunk at 2am where they were going and they told me church. -
I can't tell much of a difference either in the same Glock in 9 or .40. The shield in .40 is a lot milder than a Glock 26, maybe even more suttle than a G19.
-
The only disappointment in the Shield was I found it was only a fraction of an amount more concealable than a Baby Glock. The Shield is actually taller.
-
I don't know how S&W did it but the .40 Shield had less recoil than most .40 fullsize pistols. I have a LCP that has a lot more snap than a Shield.

I really don't have any experience but do you really think a loaded canoe would weigh anywhere near what a loaded bass boat would weigh? I understand a loaded bass boat ~3500lbs would only be going a couple miles a hour under trolling motor power.

-
I do wish I would have stocked up on 22lr. I really focused on .40 s&w more than anything, which was stupid because it is the easiest to find.
-
They make them for the 30, I tried to post a link but it failed.
-
I had not noticed there wasn't one for a Glock 30. I know they make them for Glock 20/21's though. They even make them for J frame revolvers, I would love to have one for a j frame.

They aren't bad, I have seen a few break away from the platform under pressure. The safariland ALS is about the same price or even a few dollars cheaper and a lot stronger. I had one but gave it to a friend that had a lot more need for a daily carry retention holster than I did.

I am going into a grey area but if he had a criminal charge he is not entitled to legal fees. If all they did was seize money and did not have a charge it is a civil forfeiture. If he wins the civil case he is entitled to every dime of legal compensation. It is crazy but that's the way the legal system is. The good news is you have good odds of reclaiming the seized money. I have heard just showing that you are employed making $xx a year, is enough to show you could have that much money, especially with bank receipts. A unemployed guy driving a Mercedes across the country with $50k would not cut it. The Clinton administration did a wonderful job creating an unjust act. -

I wouldn't be too suspicious if I stopped you and it was your car(wife's, mother, son.etc) and you could tell me where the money was and how mic was there. These people get paid $300 to drive a car from FL to NY and are not told why. They do not know $32k is hidden under the spare tire, if they did they would take it. Story time; I had a California Hwy Patrol friend who responded to a fatal wreck in southern California to find bales of marijuana and money blowing across the hwy from where the car was loaded. The driver pulled through but could give no explanation as to why they were driving the car or who the owner was. Police found out the owner of the car was paid $500 to register the car a mont before. She lived in the projects and was on welfare for her three kids. The driver was a SoCal University student, the passenger was ejected and died but had several convictions for narcotics violations. This is a pretty typical story. Nowadays 18wheelers are the big targets and what drug runners are using. Putting a loaded car on a transport trailer is common also. -

That is because we do respect your rights. A stop of a car with out of state plates, a driver with no relationship evidable to the cars owner, weird story of why they are going to a place, and a large amount of cash is a once in a career event for most of us. I am sure I have had one or two drug trafficers escape from my stops but most of the time these guys are really unlucky and really stupid. -

This has gotten a little out of hand. You don't have a reason to fear riding around with a little cash in your wallet, not from the police anyway. You do not want to ride around with $100k in the trunk of a car that is not yours with no proof of where it came from and no proof of what it is for. Actually, when money like this is seized the driver more often than not cant tell the police how much is there or they completly deny the money was there. The police would be a damn fool to give $32k back to a guy that doesn't own the car he's driving that says it isn't my money and I dont know where it came from. Don't hide $32k under the spare tire either. -

No your right, I normally only search a lunging area when a crime is involved, not an infraction like traffic violations. However, the Supreme Court has ruled that an officer who is getting conflicting stories from the vehicles occupants has reasonable suspicion to believe a crime has taken place. This gives an officer more than enough for a terry search of the vehicle or to obtain a warrant. This incident occurs a lot. Also a driver telling you something that you know is false is a good for asking the driver to step out. I have seen a car outside of a drug house and the guy told me he just came from Walmart, this is another reason to suspect something isn't right. -

Once an arrest has taken place the car is subject to search. It is now called inventory of the vehicle. Same creature, different name. -

The center console, under the seat are all subject to search without consent. It actually is covered under a Terry search. "Protection of police and others can justify protective searches when police have a reasonable belief that the suspect poses a danger. Roadside encounters between police and suspects are especially hazardous, and danger may arise from the possible presence of weapons in the area surrounding a suspect. Thus, the search of the passenger compartment of an automobile, limited to those areas in which a weapon may be placed or hidden, is permissible if the police officer possesses a reasonable belief based on specific and articulable facts which, taken together with the rational inferences from those facts, reasonably warrant the officer to believe that the suspect is dangerous and the suspect may gain immediate control of weapons. If, while conducting a legitimate Terry search of an automobile's interior, the officer discovers contraband other than weapons, he cannot be required to ignore the contraband, and the Fourth Amendment does not require its suppression in such circumstances." 6.8-AR, I did leave out the fact police have consent to search upon making an arrest. It is called "search subject to apprehension". That is how telling the cop to kiss you a** over a broken tail-light or telling him you will not sign a ticket gets you a ticket to jail and your car searched whether you give consent or not. Also the police can search without consent any location in the vehicle reachable by the driver while still sitting in the drivers seat. You guys have missed the point that the money is taken from people who most of the time are claiming it is not their vehicle and the cash is hidden in that vehicle. I am not saying that I totally agree with all aspects of their practice nor do I say that I agree with Civil Asset Forfeiture Reform Act. I can tell you that it hits drug dealers where it hurts, their wallets. If you guys have that big of a problem with it get it changed. Clinton was primarily responsible for the mess. I wonder how the liberals feel about this? -

On a good seizure they normally have a tip as to what to be looking for. Of course they do get lucky. One of the best drug interdiction officers I have ever heard of was lucky to find one person carrying cash on e a month. He often would find drugs several times a month with or without cash. He was shot dead a few years back. All of this is covered under the CAFRA act of 2000. Basically it states any money believed to be associated or tied to illegal activity can be seized for investigation. The person claiming interest in the money has ten days to file the appropriate paperwork. All of this is a civil matter. Being that it is a civil forfeiturer you are entitled to any and all attorney fees associated with your case if you win. You do have to show proof of where you got the money. Eg. Pay check stubs, lottery winnings, inheritance. What doesn't fly is when you claim on the side of the road that you have been saving since you were a baby and then in court you say you were given the money from a rich uncle to go to school. This is the kind of stuff they say. Normally we are talking amounts in the 100k not $10k. Also being that it is a civil forfeiture no arrest is required. -
I got extremely lucky and found one the day after Christmas at Academy for $399. I liked it but decided to stick with j frames. I sold the Shield for what I had in it to a good home. They are great shooting guns and I probably should have held onto it.
