  1. When getting a low profile, some people have found the back corners hit their wheel wells. If you can take it back if it don't fit it is not a concern.
  2. No you can open a single lid from the side. You only have to pull one latch, I'm guessing that is why you asked. I too will stay away from the they button, get a latch and preferably on the side. The tallest box I could find only came about half way up the rear window on my Tacoma. It helps protect the window from a lot and makes it a little darker inside the truck. It does not block your backing up ability, I can still see the top of the tailgate from th mirror or turning around.
  3. I had tried different ones on a Tacoma I used to have. I found a single lid with the key and handles on the side to be the most advantageous. You pay a lot more for a deep box, up to you if it is worth it or not. With a deep box in a tall truck you may not be able to reach the bottom of a deep one from the side. Some boxes are taller over the rails to which I liked to protect the rear window, also a lot more storage under the box. Something else, my dad has a spray in liner that added enough thickness that he can't fit his old box in anymore. Something to consider when measuring.
  4. Gotcha, thanks for the info.
  5. I knew a FBI agent, back when the FBI actually did law enforcement, that had a 3"RB just like that. Beautiful piece, keep me in mind if you ever have the need to sell it.
  6. Tenn. Code Ann. § 55-9-402(b)(1). Subsection (d) of the statute addresses lights displayed by emergency or other authorized vehicles. Subdivision (1) provides: No vehicle operated in this state shall be equipped with any flashing red or white light or any combination of red or white lights which displays to the front of such vehicle except school buses, a passenger motor vehicle operated by a rural mail carrier of the United States postal service while performing the duties of a rural mail carrier, authorized law enforcement vehicles only when used in combination with a flashing blue light, and emergency vehicles used in firefighting, including ambulances, emergency vehicles used in firefighting which are owned or operated by the division of forestry, firefighting vehicles, rescue vehicles, privately owned vehicles of regular or volunteer firefighters certified in § 55-9-201(c), or other emergency vehicles used in firefighting owned, operated, or subsidized by the governing body of any county or municipality
  7. That is the thing, a lot of these the rider could have done nothing to prevent it. I have seen a horse and a deer cause a motorcycle wreck, completely unavoidable. We had one guy loose control on pavement that had algae from too much water runoff one time. I can only think of two motorcycle wrecks I have been to where speed or stupidity were a factor.
  8. I was talking to my wife this morning about all the motorcycle wrecks I worked in my days as a cop and how this pretty weather brings them out. About two hours later I am on I-75 and roll right up on one. The scene was secure and I could tell by the people on the scene that someone with more medical knowledge than me knew the rider was deceased so I saved myself the agony of those reoccurring nightmares and continued down the road. This one looked so innocent, no vehicle damage, no indication anyone did anything wrong. The rider looked like he did a bad lane change and got clipped. I worked a bad one a year ago where a rider hit a horse running across the road, I still think about that terrible scene daily. Everyone be careful.
  9. I was considering the gun but "tightened up" reminds me that it as a Taurus.
  10. Not in any state I know of. It's like me saying I'm under 21 and I'm going to buy beer even though I am 30.
  11. Really the only thing that has changed with all of this is that you will not be prosecuted.
  12. To my understanding you can store it in your vehicle in a foreign trade zone now but don't ask don't tell.
  13. If it is not pick and pluck, putting the foam in the freezer before cutting makes it easier.
  14. I wouldn't waist money on an AR unless it was below preelection prices. Ammo will continue to go up in price. I will also say that for a while 9mm ammo will be scarce and +$15 per box. I am seeing a lot of 5.56 at reasonable prices. Warning, all of this advice is moot if another event were to happen.
  15. Don't trust the website. I bought two boxes of 9mm last night in N GA, they only had 5 boxes or the wife and I would have bought more. Good price too, $15 for WWB.
  16. Well, $500 would be the absolute Mac I would even think about. That equals about the most expensive I have seen it for on store shelves.
  17. Since no one else will answer I would want to pay less than $375. Around $300 would probably be a steal.
  18. I'm not saying that they have not but all the guys I have talked to say they love the gen4 31's. Some of their exact words were, "357Sigs are exempt from issues".
  19. I have had some great Keltecs p11/pf9 for around $250. Kahrs come to mind but people sometimes have trouble or they need a break in. The Taurus Slim gets ok reviews. Me, I would wait until I could get a Glock 26.
  20. If you pour the wax/shot mix back into the shell, can you cut it of into 2 3/4" so it can cycle in a pump?
  21. It's hard to say. I actually found .22lr at a pawn shop in N Ga yesterday, but I decided I didnt need any. I thought about it and when I saw some at Sportsmans last night I bought a box. 100 Remington hyper velocity for $10
  22. It has been slightly over 10 years since I was walking around the reception station. While it was not a bad 4 or 5 days, it was miserable. I had never had do much time to think about life, love, family, and just why I was there. Looking back I understand but yet I still don't.
  23. You are about spot on. Truthfully there should be no restriction, except for being of age, about any store selling liquor, wine, or beer. This is my prediction, and I have some ties to wholesale liquor and wine sales. TN grocery stores will be selling wine in grocery stores within 1 year. Even on Sundays. TN Liquor stores will not be allowed to sell corkscrews, mixers, beer, and etc. Pretty much no changes for them. You will see 30% of package stores close in the next 3 years. Package store prices on liquor will increase 20%. The current TN laws were established to help small buisness' and communities. The revenue from package stores was meant to help the community. Did you know that in TN it is against the law for one person or incorporation to own more than one package store? Truthfully it should be all or nothing for these stores.
  24. Pretty much, I have been looking for a particular gun. I will post a WTT add offering a piece that I will only want to get rid of if I find that specific, desired gun to replace it. If I sell my particular firearm but I am not able to find the one to replace it I am without.
  25. I have read OhShoot's derringer experience before. I guess I got lucky, mine has always fired, top barrel hits POA, bottom a little low ~6" at 25ft. I can shoot 32h&r mag, long, short, and even 32acp. I have come really close to getting rid of it but I have had such good luck with it I don't know if I could ever get lucky and find another good one. I don't know which is better to have, 5 shots of 22mag or 2 shots of 32mag.
