I managed to fit a Glock spring in the Sig mag. I plan on testing it today.

I always wanted a Sig P250. I have eyed them for years and past on one or two that I later wished I would have bought. I won one on Gunbroker for what I thought was an amazing deal (about $250 OTD). It is used but in very good condition. It’s a 40 subcompact and only came with one magazine and no box. I picked it up yesterday to be surprised by the excellent condition and half-life night sights. Call me crazy, but I actually wanted a .40 since my department has vowed to stick with them for a lot longer and I am swimming in .40 ammo. I seriously have about 3k rounds with most being hollow points. Well, I went to the range today and was less than impressed. My groups were the size of my fist at 10yards, but the failure to feed rate was about 5% or about 10 failures in 200 rounds. I’m thinking it may be the magazine as the spring actually feels weak. I was actually wanting to trim a compact grip to work with a subcompact slide; some of my attraction to this model. I plan to try a Glock spring in the subcompact Sig mag tomorrow. I am tempted to go ahead and order a new compact mag and a compact grip hoping I can make it run. Anyone around Chattanooga got a P250/p320 mag I can borrow for testing?

I have one of the 2017 Colt Cobras and I love it. The new Colt King Cobra pushing a little north of $900 is a little much for me but the one I handled was super impressive. I may end up with one anyway.

Steelharp, what is the street price?

I have never shot a 17L or even a 34 that I can remember. One of my grandfathers had a G24 and it was a softer and more accurate shooter than a G17. I would think a 17L would shoot like many 22lr pistols. Have you thought about a H&K in 9mm?
-
I looked at a few H&Ks at GT’s the other day. I always forget how massive the H&Ks are.

Maybe they are a little higher in Nashville, but I have seen several for $399 plus fees on shelves around Chattanooga. If you buy online you can get close to $399 OTD.

I think it is a pretty good buy at $200. If you don’t have a 4” k frame buy that one; everyone needs one.

JMB thought a lot of the BHP.

I had never heard of it until I had a piece of the brass get mixed in with some similar sized and shaped brass.

A little bit of a bite, but it is a great shooter. It fills just like a 357 magnum of similar size and weight. It makes sense; a 40S&W is the ballistic equivalent of a 357 mag. I have a 60-10 and they recoil the same.

I have a Charter Arms Pitbull in 40S&W and the extractor system works wonderful. So far it is has about 200 flawless rounds through it.

I kept saying I was going to buy a new Cobra, but the price put me off. I could have had one new for less than $700 OTD; either through GT Distributors or a couple of online vendors. I walked into GT’s to find a used one for $550 with a $65 Desantis Holster. I bit, and now own lightly used Cobra. I have put about 300 rounds through it and I love it. It has a better trigger than my vintage Colt D frame and outshoots it. I am glad I found one for basically $150 less than a new one. Now it wears vintage Herretts Shooting Stars.

I have never chopped a grip, but I have always wanted to. If I had a super reliable 17 I would rather chop it than start all over with a new 19. If you messed up or even decided you didn’t like it you can just pick up a used 17 frame or a 80% Lower. I would do it myself and go slow.

I have researched the Windicators and they are decent for the money. I think one day I will own one.

My 2.5” S&W 19 w/ 357 magnums outshoots every handgun I own with longer barrels.

Here lately I have been putting guns on consignment at a gun shop. While I know the guy well, most shops offer consignment programs. The rate at my place is 10% or $35 if you are asking less than $350.

The HST in 45acp is about the most common LE load for those of us toting 45’s. The perform well in all the test I have seen. It’s also a very affordable round at normally less than $30/50. https://www.sgammo.com/product/federal/50-round-box-45-auto-federal-hst-230-grain-hp-hollow-point-le-ammo-p45hst2

The biggest weakness of 38 spl, and other low pressure and velocity cartridges, is the lack of expansion. The 110gr DPX and the old Federal Nyclad are about the only two that will sometimes expand at standard velocities.

I don’t really understand what you are trying to say. Are you saying there are -1’s that are not 3” barrels or that 3” without a full-lug lug is not rare? I looked for years for a 3” pencil barrel, or one without a full-lug like the 60-4and 60-10 has. Edit: It looks like the 60-1 is actually the adjustable sight 2”.

A 60-1 is a very rare 3” model. I have a non pinned 60 no dash made in 1983. The no dash models ran from the begging all the way until about 87. A mint in box, pinned 60 no dash is probably worth up to $650. One without the box and with signs of minor carry wear is probably worth as much as $450. The j frame market has went down some over the last two years. I am seeing lots of nolock j frames for around $350 right now.

I too have come close to spending the six Benjamins for the stainless shopkeeper.

Pretty much my story. I always shoot 100% on quals with my agency issued gen4 23. I don’t even own a Glock in 9mm. I just didn’t see the need to keep a 9mm Glock around when I get tons of free Glock 40 Mags and 40 ammo. I do have some other 9mm guns though. I asked our chief if we were sticking with 40’s, and his response was he just bought another 100 cases of 40. I would just assume keep the 40’s.
