I believe Sportmans Warehouse has handled the situation extremely well. I have walked in at 4pm on a Tuesday and purchased 22's lately. I stood in line yesterday and they said try back on Tuesday or Wednesday because the truck did not arrive. They said it would be put out as soon as it was unloaded and stamped.

There is a very creditable member on here, I think his name is Zybsco or something similar, who has owned a 40 and a 9 Shield. He said the 40 has a slight bit more recoil than the 9. I got rid of my shield only to add another S&W J frame to the collection, I just love J frames. My dislikes of the Shield was the safety, the disasembly I didn't care too much for, and I just couldn't quite convince myself there was an advantage to a Shield over a Baby Glock. The Shield absorbs a lot more recoil than a baby Glock, I would say the 40 Shield had less felt recoil than a G22. If I had it all to do over again I would have kept the Shield.

Shields are nice, even the .40's have little to no recoil.

Yeah I know. Just because they sell them for that doesn't mean people want to buy them for that. I have been running scenarios through my head. Buy the derringer and buy a box of ammo. Find someone reloading .45acp to pull the bullets and reduce the charge. I will shoot a few for familiarity and save the others. Maybe one day I could pick up a 45acp or 45lc/410 barrel. I can't imagine the barrels are cheaper than $150 though.
-
I have wondered the same thing. The 45 Win Mag is a rimless round. I would have to have the barrel recessed as well.
-
I was thinking 2 familiarization rounds and then 2 to carry hoping to never use it. Apparently it has less ft lbs of energy than a 44mag but barely.
-
I couldn't imagine shooting full power mag loads. 20,000 psi loads like 45acp recipe would be the max. I was disappointed to see that replacement barrels are almost nonexistent.
-
I found a deal ($235) on an American Derringer but it is a 45 Winchestr Mag. What would you do. I can reload but I doubt I would ever find brass for it. Even if I were to find factory ammo it is as hot as 44mag. I have never seen barrels for sale for American Derringers either

I assume you are talking about the $12 Glockcollector Sport Combat holster, it is a great holster. -

IWB is not for everyone, I have tried several tuckable IWB holsters to determine I just can't do it. I prefer high and close to the body OWB carry. You have to have a good thick belt. I don't find a Glock 19 much different than a Glock 26 when your talking IWB/OWB, I generally only carry a baby Glock in the pocket and a lot of others carry on the ankle. -
WALMART Stone Drive Kingsport has .40 .45 100 round WB
Patton replied to Krull's topic in General Chat
Well 40 and 45 really hasn't been too hard to get around here. I have given up on 9mm, I found some a couple of weeks ago and that was the first since December. -
There are some weird stuff on there also. Why do they have M249 Drums.
-
I have the same soft spot for 92. After a few hundred rounds through a Glock I found out I shot them as good or better. To me the 92's are big and boring, but reliable. I shot some M11's, in my days but actually preferred the M-9's.

The 200gr is the true winner of the 45acp, even the 230 gr Gold Dots have been known to not expand. I have seen someone die from one 22lr to the brain and the next week someone accidentally shot there self with a 44mag and live, one round to the shoulder and he didn't even go into shock. Shot placement is what I keep in mind and anything worth shooting once is worth shooting twice.
-
Correct, I shipped some last month, about $20 to ship 200 rounds of 9mm. To simplify, no, I did not have to pay hazmat fees.

It took 23 replies for someone to mention going with another caliber. You do get a lot more options when looking for a 9 or 40.

Prayers from down here.

I have said this same thing about some different brands of handguns over the years. Someone told me the reason I have this problem is because I am not focusing on my front sight. I hate to say it but they were right.

Just to make you feel better, most every 9mm factory load is hotter than its 38 spl cousin of the same make. That taken into account, 9mm's in small packages can be a handful. It kind of comes down to higher pressures in the same gun creates more felt recoil. I can tell you 9mm in a revolver feels closer to 357 than a 38 all being shot in the same revolver. I said all of that to say this, I often carry a 5 shot revolver for comfort. Even though I have had very few troubles with pocket autos, revolvers tend to be more reliable in less than perfect grips and environments. No doubt a micro 9mm has more power and capacity, it is also harder for me to shoot. I have had formal revolver training and I can reload quickly. (I went through the only police academy around still teaching revolvers) I only carry one reload though. Tuckable holsters were a great idea but they just don't work on me, I am not fooling anyone. It makes me look like I am 20lbs heavier. If I am dressed up I will have a small pistol in my pocket. I have a Kangaroo holster which works pretty good, I'd just rip the shirt open to get it out.

60% of the time, it works everytime.

That was $800 Minimuim every 90k miles. It uses a few more plugs, a little more oil. I noticed a pattern everytime I went to get a part for a V6 Accord. I would look up a part for the same I4 and then the V6, almost everytime the v6 part was 10% more. The radiator is bigger, the rotors, and pretty much everything mechanical on the car is bigger and more expensive. The alternator for a 1998 v6 ex coupe was almost 25% more $183 vs $227 and harder to get. http://www.bkhondaparts.com/parts-catalog/honda/accord/1998/2dr-ex-v6/ka4at/engine/alternator-delphi-v6 http://www.bkhondaparts.com/parts-catalog/honda/accord/1998/2dr-ex/ka4at/engine/alternator-denso

Too big for most people wanting a sub compact or a compact. In fact I know some guys with H&K45 c's as duty weapons, I couldn't believe it when they told me they had the compact versions. They just seem huge, bigger than a Glock 30.
