  1. If anyone in Chattanooga wants some, GT's has those for about the same price. They are government overruns.
  2. I have heard they are now homeless, they lost the farm and everything in a civil suit. Actually I think they are in jail on weapons violations.
  3. I used to live in Hawaii, I never met Dog though, no way would I do what he does there. It is a wonder he has not been killed. I think he is about a joke but he really doesn't do anything disrespectful or illegal.
  4. I am affraid by posting a picture I may give away a secret that could save an officers life. There are a few holsters out there now with fake straps and buttons.
  5. I bet most people couldn't get my belt off. I use the wraparound Velcro and slide OC spray and handcuff pouches around. I do this to not have anything on my back, everything is accessible easily with both hands. I have an extra cuff over my left rear pocket which is hard to reach with the right hand but not impossible.
  6. Yes and No, you are not supposed to shoot who you have full belief is the police entering your home. Chances are you would be shot before shooting one and definetly before shooting the second one. I could not see someone being prosecuted, much less convicted if they shot the police who were at the wrong house. Especially if it was believed you are a honest citizen believing it was a home invasion. If you survived you could have one hell of a civil suit.
  7. FWIW, a friend of mine up there says the holster was the Safariland with the fake strap across the front. They got the hammer strap off but didn't know the one on the side was fake and the real one is behind the trigger. Apparentl the officer never knew why hit him, he was shot from his blind side.
  8. It is like this. You have a reasonable explanation of fear if someone is entering your home. Do you have the right to automatically shoot someone who is entering your home? Truthfully, no. Most people will, and I would. If one of these thug bounty hunters is at your home, knocks twice on the door and yells, "Bail Enforcement", knocking down the door, I am going to shoot. I have no reason to believe as a honest citizen that they are there for me. I am going to shoot, especially if he is charging me with a gun in hand or visible on his belt. If I am a local turd out on bail, and have reason to believe the police or private bail agent is looking for me, I will probably run. I may also shoot them hoping to escape. As a honest citizen I have to be able to convince the courts that I was in reasonable fear for my life because I had no expectation of a bail agent entering my home. This is assuming I make it to court because after I shoot the first goon the others will probably shoot me dead, these guys are known to carry serious firepower in AR's, shotguns, and heavy caliber handguns. Even though they have legal authority to enter the address on the bond contract or any address they see their skip inside, I still have the expectation of someone using force on me is a deadly threat. I am going to meet force with force. I am sorry if they are at the wrong place or there skip is inside my residence. I really think it would be hard for the courts to convict me, assuming they don't over power me. I guarantee I'll take at least one with me though.
  9. I have always been kind of disturbed by the existence of bouny hunters, even though I hope to never be out of jail on bond. Private bail enforcement agents like we see in TN and most other states, do have the right to enter the address on the bond. What bothers me is the times in my law enforcement career I have went to serve a warrant at a residence the person no longer lives at. I am sure people give bondsmen the wrong addresses all the time. So know this bail agent is kicking in the door of the correct address of a honest, unsuspecting citizen. I understand the homeowner wants to use deadly force to stop this home invasion. So he shoots the bail agent. The real ones, not the fly by night ones, always have backup. They often have shotguns and AR's. In 6 years of law enforcement I have only ran across one group of them in the field, this experience was different than other my other law enforcement buddies. This crew actually looked presentable and not the classic mall ninja, gear whore goons. It's funny, they actually had a bail contract with an incorrect address. They loaded up and left immediately after talking with the people at the house. They didn't ask to come in, it was obvious it wasn't the correct address. I stayed on the street and they came back to their trucks and said thanks. I asked them what they were going to do next and they said, "Find him". They left and I never seen or heard from them again. They weren't rude, just acted like they had no time to chit chat with a small town cop. The chick bounty hunter was hot, when I described her to someone later they told me she was a licensed private investigator that does cheating cases. She also was said to have slept with her entire National Guard Company in Iraq. I know her type.
  10. Yes and yes, your 8th amendment guarantees you the right to post bail within a fair amount. What I was referring to was some state that does not allow bondsman. You can post the entire bail amount or pay a 10% bond with the remaining amount up as secured collateral(paid directly to the county, no third party if forfeit) I'll try to find out what state it is. Basically the county serves as the bondsman. When your a no show the county can pay their officers such as a bondsman pays a bail agent.
  11. I didn't know we still had some guys carrying 9's in this state.
  12. There is a boat ramp on the Rhea County side.
  13. The Nano has a great trigger for carry, smooth, stiff, and long. I would have no problem carrying a Nano with one in the pipe.
  14. I know that it is an offenders right to post bail and be released on bond, but TN and a host of other states are so screwed up about it. One state, I don't remember which one, you post bond to the county and the county itself seeks asset forfeiture when the suspect doesn't appear.
  15. These are the exact words from a friend who is a 1911 finatic. "Kimbers are pretty but almost everyone else makes a better 1911". He owns more than you could imagine, he eats lives and breathes 1911's. He has a few Kimbers but I think his most precious piece is an early 1940's Ithica. I have only shot a few of his but he normally brings one or two when he comes to visit. One of the best shooters out of the bunch is a Taurus. Yes, Taurus actually makes good 1911's. I don't care for a 1911's personally but he has had a Springfield and a few Rock Islands that impressed me for their low cost. I have heard him rave on about the Sigs being great but time will tell how they hold up. S&W 1911's run pretty good and can have some good looks to them but they are notorious for weak finishes. Most 1911's have MIM parts, people are making a big deal about Rugers having them. I would be willing to beat a Ruger would hold up as well as about any of them make now. I have not seen too many reliability complaints if any.
  16. A fair amount of 40 and 45 at Wally World on Gunbarrel rd. Chattanooga.
  17. The price has went up a little over the last few months but since reloading supplies are harder to come by than loaded ammunition no one is buying brass unless it is something expensive to buy. A reasonable price for a buyer and seller as of today is about $3/lbs which is about 70 pcs. Less for military crimped. If it is all the same headstamp and clean brass it could go for $5/lbs that assumes someone even wants it. Loaded .223 has been reappearing and there is little to no cost savings in loading .223. Someone may change it into 300 blackout though.
  18. I haven't used a Ryobi in a very long time. I see a lot of them being used though.
  19. One more thing, certain 4.0's will have a highly desireable rear Dana 44 axle. You will have to crawl under it to find out. The Dana 44 will have a metal plug on the differential plate and the undesirable Dana 35 will have a rubber plug. The Dana 35 isn't all that bad but the right person will pay $1000 more for one with a Dana 44. It's not anything that is a deal breaker on a otherwise perfect jeep but the Dana44 is sought after by many.
  20. I don't, I see no similarities in the higher end brands. Obviously they operate the same but they share little to no parts.
  21. I have been Wrangler less for 2 years now. I gave up a 06 4.0, auto, 33's, 3.73's. Turning the O/D off everytime I cranked it helped mileage and made driving it more pleasant. I think I even broke 18mpg's once.
  22. Poulan and Craftsman really are, probably one or two others as well. Most of the professional lines have very little in common.
  23. I have owned a lot of Stihl blowers, they have been great, I just find the Stihl string trimmers too heavy. I also dislike the heads a little. I know some guys with Echo trimmers that have ran for 10k hours or more. I don't mind Redmax but they have a few flaws like shocking your arm all the damn time.
  24. I tend to favor 97-06 TJ's over YJ's and JK's. YJ's have a vacuum assist on the front axle(will never bother 90% of people). Factory soft tops are better on TJ's and TJ's actually ride very well. YJ's aren't bad the early Peugeot 5speeds have given some trouble. People say 4cyl 5speeds are dogs but I have never really felt they were all that bad. People that buy them as weekend toys complain far less about 4cyl, daily driver 4cyl can get a little annoying. The 2.5 4cyl actually is a pretty good engine, just weak. Kind of rare but the 04-06 2.4l 4cyl you may want to stay away from for no reason other than just being an oddball. The 4.0 is really the preffered engine. If the top will be off 95% of the time get the half doors but with the top on the full steel doors are so much quiter. If ride quality, being able to pull a small boat, and extra room mean a lot, the Unlimited is nice.
  25. I have been in and out of the lawn care and nursery business my entire life. The best string trimmer on the market at any price is a Kawasaki. I can't remember the model but it retails for about $250, the smoothest most well balanced machine I have ever used. There is no longer a dealer in Chattanooga for them, they never wear out and they use the same heads as the newer Red Max(black head).
