Yesterday I picked up a Gen4 G19 (Dec12 test fire date)used but looks like new. I have a flawless Gen4 23(2k rounds) 26, and 27. I shot 50 rounds through the new 19 and almost every round ejected brass to face. Even hi pressured self defense rounds were hitting BTF. It will be several days before I can switch out parts and get back to the range. I am going to switch out the extractor first.

My grandfathers were too young to have been in WWII, but I think of a few WWII veterans I have known personally in my life. My old high school girlfriend was raised by her grandparents and her grandfather was a DDay survivor. I can't remember a single word he ever spoke of it. His granddaughter said he only spoke of it a few times during her life.

The most comfortable holsters to me are those that ride high and tight to the body. I always praise the Glock Sport Combat holster, it rides high, tight against the body, and has a slight cant.

I love a classic Bianchi, they just remind me of a better time in my life(and A particular girl).

I had a Shield but couldn't quite get over my Glock love. The Shields handle like a fullsize handgun and shoot well. I would have no concerns carrying one on plain clothes assignment, off duty, or as a BUG. In these cases i would be very likely to need to take shots at 30 plus feet. A lot of people use their daily carry piece on the nightstand rather than opening the safe before bed and before leaving the house, I would have no concern with using a Shield with 7-9round capacity to get me to a more effective long gun. So I could see a lot of benefit to having night sights on a Shield. Disclaimer: I don't have night sights on any of my personal guns.

I have been fortunate to not experience but maybe one or two BTF out of thousands of rounds through 2008 and newer Glocks. Most of the guys with troubles say they have occurred and gotten worse after a couple hundred rounds. I read of one guy that was getting BTF almost every round after 1k rounds, it was a Gen3 G19 also.

Put it this way, I trust my reloads more than factory ammo. I can not say the same for someone else's reloads.

GT DIstributors had a bunch of 226 and 229's with DA/Sa triggers and 3mags for $450 ish a few weeks ago. I think all the 229's were 40's but most of the 226's were 9's.

You are most likely right. A smaller city that I worked in we couldn't take any arrest action against a city ordinance violation. We had a drug case threw out because the only PC was loud music(violating ordinance) and we had a huge problem when we arrested someone for refusing to sign a city ordinance citation and disorderly conduct. When we went to the prosecutor it was explained that we couldn't arrest for city ordinance violations because of the way our city charter was written and apparently most are written the same way. Our city court judge was appointed and not elected, apparently this makes all the difference in the world(even though the cases were going to a sessions court judge).

I really don't know what a city can do if your breaking a city ordinance. Fine you? That is about all they can do.

Yes, Snappers, particularly the old style rear engines are hard to beat for a homeowner. The John Deere's, Husquavarna, and such that you see in box stores are just wearing a name. Just because it is a John Deere don't think your Deere dealer will have or even be able to get parts. Snappers are Snappers around the world. They Re still built with quality and hold up well.

Jehovah Witnesses since WWII have not opposed war as a whole. JW do have a distrust in government though. A man that was my step-grandfather was a Korean War Veteran and a Jehovah Witness. His family was very supportive of my desision to join the Army. I was stationed in Hawaii with some Jehovah Witnesses that I would talk with, they knew I was Methodist and were respectful of that. The religion has adapted to modern times. They still see adultery, abortion, drugs, tobacco and such as serious sins but the evangelist door to door preechings are seen as dangerous. They still do them but with extreme caution and never alone.

Which ever he will let you get the best deal on. I like Gen4's but others do not.

Large misconception there, I know a lot of Jehovah Witnesses with guns, who are or we're in the military, and in general have a good understanding of what is wrong with this world.

I have seen several of those videos and I assure you that criminals have as well.

I have visited a range in Florida that is useless. Wait three seconds between shots, no holster draw shooting, just shoot paper targets and lay the gun on the bench. It is really boring and really unpractical. It is a county run facility with retired LEO's as RO. PC may get dangerous at times but it's still better.

I would say you are probably pretty well prepared if you have a large stock of fmj/hard cast lead 45acp. This is my biggest concern with a 9mm for shtf scenarios. A fmj 40, 45, 10mm has a pretty good chance of getting the job done. Also if your target is wearing soft body armor you are most likely better off with fmj anyway.

The cheapest indoor range is Fugates in Calhoun but it is about 40min from Chattanooga. Carter's on Hwy 58 is still reasonable. I think he told me nonmembers was like $15/hour.

The officer decides which test will be taken and the suspect can refuse. Normally you just transport the suspect to the ER for the draw. As far as drug impairment after the results are recieved you just have to go to a chart to see what everything is and how much is present. We see mostly in this order pills, pot, and then meth on drug impairement. I really don't know what the allowable limit is in regards to how much consumed but impost are 10x the legal limit so it must not take much to be over. Actually we normally see several drugs present in their system.

And there is no hurry to get a blood sample when most drugs are the reason for impairment.

That's a hot topic, some say it hasn't changed and some say it is an altered process but is still as good. I have not had an issue with any later gen3 or gen4 finishes. The MIM haven't given me issues either, but I suppose one day they may.
