  1. I have said that from the beginning, Martin utilized stand your ground and Z resorted to self defense. I am not saying either was wrong or right.
  2. If small and light is your focus then the XDS isn't much over most .380's. The concern I would have is that in the woods you have no where to run. You can't flee to a well lit, populated area. You can't reach your car to flee and you may not get cell service. Even when the greatest possibility is humans in the woods I would want a fighting gun with a fair amount of ammo, at least 15 rounds.
  3. Following someone is not illegal. Truthfully Z could have legally followed Martin all the way to his front door. Martin had the legal right to confront and use force instead of retreat under stand your ground. I can't say that I may not do the same if I was being followed.
  4. Even the most honest of people will lie when it comes to talking about their finances. Here is what sucks, anyone of us could have been Martin or Zimmerman. What I do believe is that Zimmerman was wrong to stalk (not illegal in FL in this situation) and Martin should have called the police himself. All evidence supports that Martin could have very easily made it home but instead decided to confront Zimmerman(Martin may have had a fear in this unknown guy knowing where he lived). I hate it that both men are in the situation they are in now. It's unlikely that Martin would have killed Z but he could have. All it takes is a light hit to the right spot of the head to kill you.
  5. It could be a black panther. I had to, sorry.
  6. Fwiw, a friend of mine who was a therapist at a VA clinic says 90% of vietnam vets carry and illegally at VA Clinics. Even though none will admit a lot of older guys carry illegally everyday.
  7. I am looking for a LCP and at the best price in or around Chattanooga. I need a new one, not that anyone saves buying these used anyway. I haven't really been out at all the retailers lately and I am wondering what the going rate is now. It's for my grandpa who lives in Chattanooga.
  8. I have seen two deaths in which the head wounds bleed very little. One a self inflicted 45acp wound to the side of the head with 2 cups of blood at the most. The next was a 9 story fall in which the mans head hit first. This was unbelievable with no more than a single drop of blood.
  9. Oh yeah, if you buy a woods gun 10mm should be it. I have friends in Alaska that say for years 44mag was a staple in every household, you could buy 44mag ammo at the grocery store. However 10mm is becoming very popular. Do to affordability and the capability of smaller shooters taken multiple well placed shots, 10mm is getting a following.
  10. Makes sense, I actually heard there was 6 but thought I heard wrong or they were mistaken.
  11. Our justice system was pretty much broken from its inception. It is so hard to convict by getting all 12 jurors to come to the same decision, especially to convict. There are way to many questions in this case for him to be convicted. I personally can't come to a decision in this case. I understand why each party involved did everything they did. While there was some mistakes nothing illegal was committed, assuming Zimmerman shot Martin believing his head getting pounded into the ground was a deadly act. Note to everyone: never underestimate someone by their age, weight, or sex. I have seen some bad dudes finally get their ass handed to them by a teenager.
  12. I have also seen the exact opposite with the app. It will be showing no ammo in stock and everything but 22 and 9mm will be on the shelf.
  13. Well of course 10mm would be better but he is asking which of the two guns he owns will work best. No way would I hike in grizzly country with either one of those. As far as for TN, either one will work. I still think you are more likely to discover 2 legged threats while hiking around here.
  14. Normally I would pick a 45 over a 9mm for woods duty but this is a tuff one. Understand in the woods an aggressive animal will be very determined to get you and there is no where to run. On the street a turd may retreat after the first shot and you will be fleeing in your car in less than 2 minutes. People unlike animals realize they have been shot and suffer psychological effects and they try to nurse their wound or lay down. An animal has no clue what the hell happened that is why they run half a mile after getting hit with a hi powered rifle. With the XDS 6 or even 8 rounds seems uncomfortable to me asumming you can't get a magazine change in. Another thing, can you empty the Glock (18rds or 16) faster than the XDS?
  15. I have seen a lot of 9mm just in the past week. I still am not seeing a whole lot of .380 and no bulk pack 22's, even though I am not looking.
  16. I know they say the VP70 was first but the Remington was making the bolt action pistols with plastic grips back in the 60's.
  17. H&K I believe could have been a lot more successful with the VP70 if it had been easier to use and understand. The VP70 confused people. Why was a plastic gun so heavy and expensive ? Combine that with the fact the versions available in the US were not selective fire with an attachable stock. Americans thought they were paying for features they weren't getting. Then they try to squeeze the trigger and discover a 20 pound trigger pull. Where Glock scored was easy to purchase and fire, cheap non-dumbed down for US market, lightweight pistols.
  18. I really believe the first striker fired handguns were Browning FN 1900's.

    Toy gun buy-back

Be sure and tell them after they hand over the gift card that you are selling toy guns to buy real guns.

If I really wanted to soak innocent people I would open up on them with a water hose or a water ballon. Just like; If an international or domestic terrorist really wanted to injure a lot of innocent people he would drive a Suburban down a busy sidewalk or set off an IED.
  21. Tragic but you know a child that is not taught what a firearm can do will pick one up, along with drugs, needles, snakes, and about a million other health hazards when not taught to respect them.
  22. Your out of luck, you might be able to give it away for firewood once it has been dropped on the frond into manageable lengths.
  23. Yes, they can. Find someone who reloads to pull them and do them right. Exactly!
  24. It's a 9mm, find me some ammo. I am just kidding. Honestly I don't know if I could handle it, it is that annoying. I actually took 100 rounds with me but decided to only shoot 50 knowing I could switch out parts to try and get it working. Another issue is people report issues occurring more frequently after 500, 1k, or even 3k rounds. I have the o-4-3 RSA and the 30274 ejector which are the latest updates.
