  1. Sometime back I had the same type of BS fed to me, I almost bought into it. It wasn't a week later I was at my mother's house when the same guys didn't recognize me and told me a completely different story. The, "I was born in Africa and came to America at age 6" must not have been working so they were saying they were "recovering crack addicts". I actually believed the later to be true. You will never get the magazines.
  2. The only ammo FAMs have shot in the last 10plus years is the Speer Lawman and Speer Gold Dots as seen in the photos.
  3. It happens all the time. I know where their is about 100k rounds of ammo in a locked trailer. Yes, Fed's ammo.

As long as you can handle the weight their isn't anything to be concerned with. I had a lot of friends that carried them as duty weapons at Chattanooga, the weight was the only concern.
  5. " He had acquired the gun from a friends gun shop who had passed away suddenly and this was found in the shop in a brown paper bag." My grandfather had a gun just like that one, this one may be it. My cousins took it when he died (2005) and sold it. Colt made some none working guns that looked just like the real thing but had a plugged barrel and a non working firing pin. The entire upper could be replaced making it a working firearm and that is what he did. My great uncle stole it from the Army, it wasn't as accountable as working firearms and gave it to my grandfather. He said the guns were used for training and sometimes ceremonies. I once found an article on them, I'll see if I can find it again. Never mind, yours actually has a colt slide. The "US Government would have been stamped on the frame. Makes me think the frame may actually be from a different gun but with Colt grips. I have to question why it is in a paper bag, if it were. Makes me wonder if he knew it was hot and this was a throw down gun. A lot of scenarios, someone may have dropped it off to have work done. And those are the same grips his had. Do me a favor and post a picture of the thumb safety, his had a different thumb safety from all the other ones I have ever seen in my life.
  6. The 940 doesn't require them either, it's just hard to eject spent cartridges without moon clips.
  7. The ruger sp101 is between a j frame and a k frame. A holster for an LCR should fit about the same except for barrel length. The trigger guard is about the biggest part compared to a j frame.
  8. Shields are hard to beat, even the 40 Shield seamed easier to shoot than my LCP.
  9. Other than the G36 I find the 45/10 Glocks feel a lot different than the others. I actually like the feel of a Sig220 over a G21 and I am a huge Glock 9/40 fan.
  10. Anyone know who gives the most for old cars in Chattanooga/Trenton area? It's a 87 Caprice( no engine) if it matters. My stepfather has one he needs to take somewhere.
  11. That's about the best comparison one can make. To me both are highly accurate and highly dependable. Sigs cost more and cost more to own. IMHO the Sig 220 is the best of the Sigs and beats a heavy(for Glock) thick Glock 21. Holsters, barrels, magazines, and parts for Glocks are so much more affordable and readily available I prefer them solely for those reasons. Glocks tend to have a higher capacity for size than Sig counterparts as well.
  12. I am sure this article is fake but I have known a few that swear Taurus 1911's are some of the best for the money.
  13. Story of my life, I did get a LCR out of the deal though.
  14. A lot of men make the mistake buying a wheel gun for their wife's first handgun. I would say as much as 90% end up keeping them at home. My wife, mom, and a lot of other women I know have j frames/LCR's, and Taurus 85's at home but carry a LCP or similar. I have a few j frames and my wife has a LCR w/ all three grips. Truthfully all the 5rounders, they handle the same. If she will carry an all steel j frame(~20oz) they handle a lot better. My only complaint about the LCR is it is easy to short stroke the trigger.
  15. I'll give you a hint, go in and say, "Give me which ever one you think looks the best.". The guy I saw do that got a nearly new one with three mags from the back.
  16. I was told, and saw one, that they have some in blue boxes, some with 2 and some with three magazines.
  17. All is great advice. Save your emails, I have witnessed a knock and talk by the ATF and when the guy being questioned printed off the emails with phone numbers the ATF was ready to talk to someone else.
  18. They had a model 10-6 for $199, no joke. Actually the whole place is full of some deals. Glock 23 Gen3 (fair shape) for $369. I think there were some Glock 22's still. They had one Sig 226 in 357 for $399, it's new enough to have a rail but it's a DA only (not DAK).
  19. The are not a S&W Law Enforcement dealer, they have some Shields, Body guards, and rerovolvers at civilian/retail prices. The M&Ps came from a trade for Glocks to Atlanta PD.
  20. There not on the site as far as I know, they just got them this week. Supposedly they have 400+ in stock with more coming every day. Atlanta now has Gen4 Glock 22's and SWAT has 21's.
  21. If you have never shot a 40 in one, S&W did a wonderful job on building these to handle any "snappiness" 40's are tagged as having.
  22. If anyone wants a slightly used M&P in 40, GT Distributors has them for $349 w/case and three mags. They have several hundred and are getting more every week.
  23. Yeah, TN has some stupid articles under domestic violence. Some aren't but some are.
  24. Screw an active shooter scenario, she was driving a 4k lbs nearly unstoppable bullet. I have said it before, if someone really wanted to cause havoc a car is the best weapon most of us have.
  25. No, I have seen issues when renting without a lease.
