  1. I read the obituary, momma has about nine more.

    price on M&P 40 ??

Here is the thing, the used market is flooded with used M&P 40's, even a few compacts, for under $400 OTD. Atlanta PD got rid of their M&Ps(2500~) and a few others did as well to include a large department in Ohio. I understand wanting a new one but if you wanted to get rid of it you would be stuck with it.
  3. Pearce has extensions for the Shields now. http://www.pearcegrip.com/Products/Smith%20&%20Wesson/PG-MPS

    Glock 42

All indications is that it is a .380 but it would make better sense of it were a 9mm based off of the M&P Shield.
  5. I have sold just about every cc Glock holster I have ever had except for my Glock Sport Combat holsters, and they only cost about $12. I do have a Safariland ALS but it's not really the best cc carry holster out there, I did the IWB tuckables for awhile but got annoyed with them.
  6. Not that it should matter but the victim is of the same race, I believe I read somewhere he is actually in the software/computer business.
  7. Are you talking abou the victim Jaden Archer? Googling his name makes me believe he has lived in Chattanooga his whole life.
  8. Two thugs try to rob a 35 year old in Chattanooga at a Bi-Lo parking lot when they meet to sale some tablets off of craigslsit and it does not go well for them. http://www.chattanoogan.com/2013/12/10/265194/Man-Shot-At-Bi-Lo-Parking-Lot-Taken.aspx
  9. I recently sold a Glock 26 Gen 4 w/3 mags for $475 and it took several days, so 450-475 is about right on.
  10. No they can only "borrow" or inherit.
  11. Service member or civilian they only need to be 18.
  12. I know people have bought 9 and .223 recently but it isn't worth much. I have bought some 9 for $3/100 and sold .223 for about the same over the last year. Some 45acp/lc/gap is easily moved and so is 357 sig and mag. Since so many LEO's use 40 you can find it cheap or free.
  13. As weird as it may seam they only have to be 18.
  14. Your friend that shot at the masked individuals is no different than about half of those folks that pull and shoot their autos in an emergency. I have heard so many reports about malfunctions when needing the weapon and I would say a lot of it has to do with never testing under stressful conditions with the carry ammo. All of this assuming you do not believe in Murphy's Law.
  15. Oh yeah, good deal. Post pictures.
  16. It's a rare occurance that I leave a gun on the nightstand while I am away. Nine times out of ten my daily carry whatever is what sits on the nightstand while i am at home.
  17. I actually have a connection to both the victim and the shooter. Mr Westbrook had been really sick, he could no longer speak but had not shown any signs of aggression like a lot of dimenia patients do. I went to school with Hendrix, he was always polite and respectful, I never remember him trying to pick a fight or even getting into a fight. The last word I heard on Hendrix was years ago he fell sick and almost died in Iraq. Something very interesting in this case was a week prior the fiancé had a belligerent man(younger) beating down her door at the residence. The sheriffs dept arrived within 10minutes but the guy got away, the reason I was told Hendrix had been staying there was because the fiancé felt the man may come back. This is such a tragedy regardless but as a LEO I am not so sure I couldn't even be found in the same situation. One of the most dangerous calls I ever went to my light died right in the middle of the confrontation.
  18. Let me throw in my 2 cents, 90% of what I reload is straight walled pistol cartridges and I have no desire to get rid of my single stage press. I know what a turret press is capable of and what a progressive press can produce, and enjoy my single stage. I have less than $300 in equipment and produce easily 70 rounds a hour(includes case seperation, cleaning, and lots of inspection). I jus feel my quality control is better with a single stage and it still feels like it is productive at 70 rounds a hour. I keep a lot of brass around, it makes life easier. If I only had 100-300 casings I probably would want a turret or progressive, otherwise I resize/decap every so often until they are all done. Then the next week or a month later I may bell the casings and reprime. Then after awhile(following week) I will calmly charge and seat bullets, something like 100 at a time which is what I normally shoot in one range visit. I sit down to charge and seat bullets a lot more than I do to do the other steps, resizing/depriming & belling/priming are normally several hundred at a time. I really want to get into casting, it is harder to jump into than reloading itself.
  19. Supposedly the same recoil spring 40 to 9. Other than the barrel and magazine all the parts are supposed to be the exact same. Even the slide has almost the exact same measurements and specs.
  20. They are using 125gr 357sig GS.
  21. My Glock 23 rides the nightstand, it has over 3000 perfect rounds through it without issue. I wouldn't mind switching to something else quiter in hopes of saving my hearing if fired numerous times inside the house. While I can't tell a difference between shooting 9/40/45 I think the 40 is louder w/ more flash. I once worried about an intruder having body armor but feel the continuous volley of fire will deter them out of the house if at least one round doesn't hit face, neck, groin, arm, or leg.
  22. How does this not raise the psi? Also, if I shoot an open case with a live primer in it at night there is enough ignition for some to be seen coming Ou the muzzle, how would there be enough space in any case?
  23. Everything mentioned already plus many old timers, my grandfather included, would tell me the grip safety would often stick. Remember, JMB excluded the grip safety from the 1911 but to sell the model he had to go back and include it. The 1911 was designed for a different crowd, while people liked autos there wasn't much trust, very few carried wit a round in the chamber. If you had to chamber a round is when you would activate the safety, otherwise the 1911 was designed for folks who carry hammer down on an open chamber.
  24. I hate to sound negative and I hope this is just some game she is playing hiding somewhere, but often if a child has been taken it is by someone close. Anything peculiar with family, neighbors, or friends as of lately? Grandparents, older sibs, or another parent? I only ask because as a LEO once I found a missing teen with an older half sibling no one mentioned.
  25. I have read some reports of seperation and fragmenting during testings. Honestly, that doesn't scare me at all. The last I heard was that THP was using the Golden Sabers.
