  1. I am almost positive that TCA has changed to where vehicles from other states have to follow that as well. It was purposely done so that people would stop registering cars in other states to avoid tint laws pertaining to them.
  2. I am USAA across the board, I used to be a traffic investigator and always heard great things about them when doing follow ups. I heard numerous bad stories with other companies, progressive seemed to be one of the worst. I have been with USAA about 8 years and have nothing but great experiences.
  3. I have not bought it but I am probably going to pass on it. It would be about $335, I looked at some older auctions where they sold for less. I may just hold out for another Smith or a more reasonably priced Undercover.
  4. Gander Mountain's prices are insane! Academy is reasonably priced on almost everything, should only help Academy.
  5. I have always liked older revolvers, how about a Charter Arms Undercover 38spl? It's not a Smith or Colt but it still has prestige, Serial no 6459** it is very very good and possibly unfired. What is your value on it and overall opinion? I believe it is an older one when they were of great quality.
  6. I would also be cautious in GA with dark tint. I know about 5 people that have been stopped and inspected in the last year. I don't think I know a single person in TN that has been stopped for tiny in the last year.
  7. I don't think you will ever get stopped for excessively dark back window tint, there is supposedly and exception for multi passenger vehicles(vans, SUVs, limos, medical, and LE). Another issue is most tint meters won't work but on roll down side windows. I would venture to say most LEOs think truck back windows can be dark.
  8. Bigryo, PM inbound.
  9. Really it is a matter of luck and geography plays a huge factor. The best gigs are government contract or government employee. There are some people making $70k plus a year at DOE and TVA sites but they really have the portfolio to work there, prior Federal service most of the time. I don't have a clue if there is anything like that around Nashville. Most of the private owned nuke sites pay even more than TVA but still if you aren't military and/or excop forget about it.
  10. Most any good paying job goes to off duty law enforcement or someone with a good resume with police work and/or elite military.
  11. The armored car drivers and runners are making about $11 an hour across the state. I have never met a single one that was happy after just a few months. Really it won't be a hard job most places but dealing with managers who have never had to do your job will drive you insane. It can can take a couple of months to get your license from the state and will cost about $300 total. Expect to get laid off frequently, you will always find work around the holidays though. As far as armored car companies Brinks is one of the better, Loomis has screwed people by giving them bad references even though the were great employees.
  12. For sale: My life long collection of Alabama Crimson Tide Memoribilla, at least 8 Bama hats, 5 assorted XL Alabama Crimson Tide T Shirts, and an Alabama Crimson Tide hoodie. Taking best offer. I want to sell while I still have a chance.
  13. They still make them, even though they are manufactured in limited amounts. http://www.gtdist.com/ProductDetail.aspx?PartNumber=GLOCK-PI2430103
  14. Oh, and it may be the rarest of the models as far as the numbers go.
  15. I had a G24 a few years ago, honestly just the same as any other Glock. I actually was wanting to use it to take a deer or two, I found out it was not anymore accurate than even my baby Glocks. If you read into published velocities some ammo out that 6" barrel is as great as some 10mm out of a G29. Is yours a Gen 2? I wonder if you have my old one, I traded it away with one 10rd magazine and a newer style box.
  16. Just test Buffalo Bore if you find some, the 9mm+p+ was some of the worst grouping ammo I have ever shot, and no it wasn't because of excessive recoil.
  17. http://www.wrcbtv.com/story/24400315/crime-stoppers-thief It began as a normal late-November day at Southern Gold on Brainerd Road. Surveillance video shows a woman entering the store. "She's a black female," explained Chattanooga Police Sgt. Craig Joel, "5'6", 5'8", average build, maybe around 150 to 160 pounds, or so; appears to be in her mid-20's." The woman spread some jewelry out on the counter to be appraised, perhaps to sell, and that is when the extraordinary happened. "The actual employee doing the inspection realized this was her own gold," Sgt. Joel said. "Of all the pawn shops, of all the gold shops in this county, city, tri-city area, the odds are kind of astronomical that this happened." Later, police would find the door kicked open at the employee's residence and several thousand dollars worth of jewelry and electronics missing. When she recognized the pieces as her own, some of them custom-made, she tried to call to get police officers to the store. "The suspect made excuses to step outside and fled the scene," said Joel. "They weren't able to locate her." That leaves you with an opportunity to aid the investigation and earn some reward cash. Have a good look at our suspect. The surveillance video and pictures are admittedly not of the best quality, but there are other clues. "We're hoping that someone will recognize her based on her purse, her appearance, her demeanor," Sgt. Joel added. "We think that there's someone out there that will recognize her and if they do, that recognition could lead to a reward." There is a chance this freak occurrence scared this thief straight. Coming face-to-face with the victim like that may have made her swear-off a life of larceny, but we don't know that for sure. Let us not take a chance, help stop her before she strikes someone else's house. There is up to $1,000 waiting for the right bit of information. Call Crime Stoppers: 698-3333 Remember, a police officer may answer the phone or return your call, but he will never ask your identity.
  18. It feels just as good without the sleeve, they should have made the baseplate one solid piece including the sleeve. Similar to a Glock 30/36 baseplate but to the same Shield ergonomics.
  19. My take on it if anyone cares: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vwXu4WAnFKw
  20. There have been a few already hit dealers.
  21. When George W Bush left office gas was $1.78 us/gal. Just saying! Just trying to fuel some fire. I used to see bumper stickers saying, "When Bush took office gas was 1.48 gal."
  22. I knew a Walmart manager that was doing that a year ago at the height of the shortage, I mentioned it on here and people were bitching about it. I am sure it was a reseller anyway.
  23. I for one hope to have one soon, being that it is lighter than a G21 it is an all around improvement and roughly the same length as a standard 1911.
  24. While a better nightstand gun, beware of firing magnum loads inside without hearing protection. I recently met a guy who had almost complete hearing loss from firing a snub nosed 357 in his basement. It has really got me thinking about a set of electronic ear muffs to sit on the nightstand.
  25. If it is in good shape, even with one barrel that is a deal.
