Wolfattack, I was referring to one gun compared to the next. Almost every Glock unless it has been modified feels about the same. M&Ps feel different one gun to the next. My first M&P was one of the smoothest I had ever felt. The one I have now has an obvious break. It doesn't worry me since it isn't a range gun but an occasional carry piece, the trigger if pulled will probably be yanked in high stress.

I call BS! Everyone knows that .22 ammo is extinct.

I have known those types, in both uniforms come to think of it. -

That was long overdue, I actually think I made more enemies as a MP than as a civilian cop. -
I have a dry tumbler and if I had it to do all over again I would get a wet tmbler, even if all i did was tumble it in liquid only. I have seen brass processed in stainless steel media and it does a fantastic job, I just don't know if the cost equals enough performance gain.

I purposely try to not watch too much TV and movies just for the fact I hate building the careers up of these same Hollywood goons. There are 314 million people in the United States, I hate it that they continuously use the same 1000 or so actors and actresses. Then we build them up to heroic type status, bowing down to their beliefs. Besides, NCIS is so factually wrong I almost can not stand it, NCIS Los Angeles is so far off base it should be on the SciFi channel.

I followed debates on using lead in polygonal rifling when discussed on other sites. I do have about 1k rounds of hard cast lead through my G23, I have since put several hundred jacketed through it, but I cleaned it often. One time I was able to see and shave out a piece of a lead shard that was about an inch long and the thickness of dental floss. Other than that every brush came out with only little loose pieces of unburnt powder and the usual. Maybe it was the type lead I was using but I wouldn't have a concern about going several thousand rounds of lead in a polygonal barrel, frequently cleaning it of course. I believe the thought was that polygonal rifling created excessive pressures because of fouling. I haven't messed with reloading 40 anymore since it is the easiest to find ammo, scarce reloading supplies go towards harder to find calibers and those more expensive to buy. I have a 2nd gen Glock 19 that has less chamber support than my Gen4 23, I recall my old Gen3 and Gen4 9mm having adequate chamber support though. One of my only complaints about M&Ps is the very inconsistent trigger, one gun will be smooth and the other will have a very noticeable breaking point.

Never mind.

Someone already mentioned the rarity of the Old Vaquero, I just happened to know someone who had a shop who bought a 45acp Vaquero, according to the Ruger rep the Vaquero in 45acp is rare anyway.

I think we all have guns that feel more like an extension of our arm more so than some others do. I only brought up focusing on the front sight post to be helpful. I have even been taught as an officer to draw looking over the sights to engage targets within close proximity, feet squared with shoulders squared... With that said, any gun should hit a target within a reasonable area up or down from another brand. Those targets further away would require sight alignment.

Is that the number on the crane or the butt?

The first homicide I ever went to was a 22lr to the head, a week later I went to an accidental shooting with 44mag. The guy was able to tell me exactly how it happened and was as calm as could be, half his shoulder was missing.

Before I got big into handguns I was in a Sig course while in the Army, I told the instructor some guns pointed more naturally for me than others. His response as to why I had that issue: I was not focusing on my front sight post.

Northern Hamilton County will have damage visible come day light. About 30 minutes ago seemed to be the worst of it.

Old timers that come around or are still at my department talk about having a 50yard qual with a 4" model 15. If we did 50yard quals we would have 10% of our existing workforce. Those are not the first 9mm is taking over the world propaganda adds I have scene lately. TDPS went to 9mm from 357sig but it was also a completely different platform change. NCHP went to a 9mm only because of 357 sig problems in the M&P, they pretty much did an even swap because of the bad publicity S&W was getting. Indiana State Police just dumped their Glock 17's after many years to get the new Sigs in 45. There was at least one department listed in the 2014 Glock Annual that just went to G22 from 9mm. I have seen a few departments in TN switch to 45 or 357Sig from 40 in the last year but the two newest agencies in TN to get armed up have chosen Glocks in 40s&w.

You like the Nano but you don't like Glocks? The Nano is awfully Glock like.

I thought it was going to be an automobile fire, like a slow-mo of the pace car fire.

We had a guy in a Chattanooga suburb die from a copperhead bite in Bout 2011. It was his second bite in a 3 year time frame though.

Thanks, I'll keep in mind.

I was wondering if any members wanted to take a limb off my house and possible take down the entire tree. Nothing really tricky about it, it is close to the house but plenty of room to drop it with a rope. The tree is a ~70' Hackberry partially covered in English Ivy. If you are in the business but far away, what is the going hourly rate for tree work?

The Xds is not bad, I had one in 45acp. The ergonomics of the XDS is every bit as good as te Shield. Recoil was to be expected, I hear the 9mm feels the same as the 45 for the most part. I got rid of it to go back to a Shield which recoils so much less.
-
I have only owned and shot the Shields in 9 and 40. The Shields really are great shooters that carry very well. The Nano is a little smaller if memory serves me correct. The Nano does not have a slide stop lever, really only an issue when clearing class three malfunctions. The Shield does have the manual safety which some dislike. It appears to me as if the Shields get slightly better reviews than the Nanos.

Those articles mean nothing to me. It's a cycle within a cycle, 9mm to 40 to 45 and then back to 9mm. Witchita Police Department just switched back to 40 after a 5 year stint with 9mms. Can you guess what they will be carrying in 5 years? Have you seen my post that is a sticky at the top of the Handguns section? There are only two agencies with 9mm in the state out of about the 250 agencies we have confirmed. In Georgia I do not know of a single agency exclusively using 9mm, but supposedly GSP is dumping the Glock 37 this spring in favor of Glocks in 9mm or 40. Other surrounding states I believe are about the same, no love for the 9mm. I have even noticed some of Federal Government agencies have dumped 9mm lately, DOD Police, Coast Guard, NCIS, and VA police have all went to 40 in the last few years.

There has been hours of rain on top of the melting snow in Chattanooga, with more rain and temperatures under 30 degrees Saturday morning making for slick roads.

A good 3" in northern Hamilton County.
