  1. If you need some more done let me know.
  2. Your date is 1996, a call to S&W a few years ago told me that nothing special was done to .38spl models after that date other than stamping the plus p. however two of my guns were not approved for plus p only because they were not stamped.
  3. In 1972 SAAMI dropped pressure specifications for the .38 Spl from 21,000 psi to 17,000 psi,  Pressures exceeding 17,000 psi were given plus p designation in 1972.
  4. FWIW, the .38spl ammo available when that gun was manufactured exceeds plus p levels made now. Just shoot a few of your Gold Dots and carry with confidence.
  5. Strange that S&W advised to not use plus p ammo, the 36's normally hold up really well.
  6. I had an add on GOC for months wanting to buy 9mm brass paying up to that amount and never got more than about 300 pieces.I was basing those prices on what I could buy range pickup from some of the ranges.
  7. As long as it not tarnished, the 9mm is worth about $5/100 and the .38 and .380 worth about $6/100.
  8. It was not that long ago that $400 was the upper end of what Sig 225's were selling for. I have seen one recently at a shop that is normally fair on pricing and theirs was $599.
  9. I had good one once named Roudy, he was named after his father who was a champion. I had to put Roudy down thirteen years ago today on May 17, 2001, he was a good one and lived to be 15 years old. The coolest black lab name I have ever heard was Coffee, sometimes they called him Mr. Coffee. My current one is Bo and he is a good one, I have had several labs over my life.
  10. Also you gain the very much so desired full length ejector rod. Is your 22lr j frame a 34 or a 63? I have never seen a 3" 34 or 63.
  11. Stay away from the Grands, specifically the v-8's.
  12. The perfect j frame, and those are the best grips ever in existence for a j frame. It's beautiful!
  13. For the one or two guys looking to get a double edged safety razor I got lucky and found two for $10 at an antique store.
  14. I like the 64 but they don't carry as well as the 640 did. I can shoot the 64 quicker and reload it quicker. This is not mine but this is what I really want, a 2.5" model 10.
  15. Yes, very nice. Those 625's are worshiped by many, but not too much my thing. When I went through the police academy a few years ago one of the firearm instructors from Oak Ridge PD carried a 625 as a duty weapon. He could easily dump 12 rounds into a target in 5 seconds.
  16. You guys and your 640 no dashes make me sick! Do you know how many times a day I beat my head into the wall because I sold mine? Actually, I ditched the stainless j frames for stainless k frames, particularly matching 2" 64's. I was thinking that adding an extra round was well worth the extra 4oz. Hindsight I should have kept a 640 and only bought one 64.
  17. I am a j and k frame fan, the only thing to keep in mind is that both the J and k frames should only digest a small amount of 357mag and preferably heavier than 140gr magnums. The J frames are actually a little stronger but still not bulletproof. Unfortunately L and N frames just don't do it for me but I would love a 3" S&W 610.

    KAHR 45

My "modified" 1911 magazines worked perfectly only if I installed a Kahr follower. I had a XDS a few months ago the recoil between the two is not comparable. The XDS was a lot of recoil that was a force but came somewhat slow, the Kahr was a slap and all at once. It reminds me of the so called 40 snap that people say they experience.
  19. VOW is Volunteer Ordinance Works just North of Cleveland Speedway on Lee Hwy. Call Carman and see if she still has the 640. It was new and $599 which is actually a pretty good deal for a new one.
  20. Fugates had a 640 last week and VOW had a 686 plus.

    KAHR 45

Oh, and I bought it one the theory I could use slightly modified 1911 magazines but I never could really get them to work 100%. They do not like Hornady ammo nor do they eat semi-wad cutters.

    KAHR 45

When Kahr dropped their prices a couple of years ago I picked one up for $375. It was my first Kahr, and I was not impressed but I did buy a cw380 a while later. The chamber on the CW45 was extremely tight not liking a lot of ammo and the gun was just not easy to handle because of sharp edges. The recoil was a lot, and this coming from a non recoil sensitive guy. However I do kind of wished I would have kept it.
  23. While I enjoy shooting my 4" k frames, the versatility of a 3" can't be beat. A 2.5" 19 or 66 has never interested me much because of the adjustable sights, plus the 3" gives you a full length ejector rod. Ever seen a 2.5"(not a 2") Model 10? They are rare and very desirable. I loaded it up today even though I have not shot it and carried in a pocket, i always heard it could be done and wanted to prove so or not. It's possible, reminded me of carrying a Sig239 I had for awhile. If one considers the 3"sp101 pocketable I guess the 3" 65 could be as well. It's a true waistband gun.
  24. I use either a 1957 or a 1960 Gillette Fatboy with quality blades. I shave my face about every day and my head about once a week.
  25. I lived in Hawaii for 5 years, I miss it so much and plan to return to vacation before to long. While visiting Hawaii and not seeing Pearl Harbor should be a sin, I would encourage you to visit the Big Island or Maui. Oahu really is a large island on a tiny island. I miss the weather, the laid back mentality, the beaches, the surfing and mountain biking, and especially the food. If you have any questions specifically please pm me, I really enjoy talking about Hawaii.
