  1. I have lost a few friends over the years but I want to remember one from Tennessee this and every Memorial Day. Army Staff Sgt. Daniel D. Merriweather Died January 13, 2010 Serving During Operation Enduring Freedom 25, of Collierville Tenn.; assigned to the 118th Military Police Company (Airborne), 503rd Military Police Battalion (Airborne), 16th Military Police Brigade (Airborne), Fort Bragg, N.C.; died Jan. 13 at Combat Outpost McClain, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his vehicle with an improvised explosive device. Also killed was Pfc. Geoffrey A. Whitsitt. DoD: Memphis soldier killed in Afghanistan The Associated Press . (http://projects.militarytimes.com/valor/army-staff-sgt-daniel-d-merriweather/4459023)
  2. Not always, many of them have so many chemicals soaked in they will outlive all of our kids. I would pick up the phone and call around, anything close to $10 is a good deal for a used RR tie. Ask for a bulk discount if you are getting a lot.
  3. I would agree that it is a great backup but it is often my primary, it would be cool to carry two.
  4. NAA are great guns but many can't get passed the 22lr or 22mag chambering though. They are S/A but that doesn't bother me, it is very easy for me to cock them. I had the 22lr version and sold it to go 22mag, I was actually extremely accurate with the 22lr version. I am less accurate with the magnum even with a 22lr cylinder.(Strange I know!) For a civilian it is hard to beat a LCP or other pocket .380.
  5. Good luck on the Sig magazines! As for the Beretta magazines you can post WTB adds on the various market place boards and probably get more replies than you can afford. I sold my m9 mags a few years ago for about $10 a piece on GOC.
  6. I bought both of mine at GT's, my dress belt is a G&G($50) and my tactical belt is the 5.11 Double Duty($20). I purposely didn't get an operator style belt because I didn't want the metal buckle. I at first questioned if the Double Duty was strong enough and it is. http://www.sportsmanswarehouse.com/sportsmans/5.11-Double-Duty-1.75-inch-TDU-Belt-/productDetail/Mens-Tactical-Accessories/prod999901360020/cat120607
  7. You did well, I have a friend that has been looking for one of those for awhile.
  8. A black Labrador with a cat for a best friend.
  9. J frames handle .357 a lot better than the K frames. The cylinder notches are also offset on the cylinder which makes them stronger.
  10. You can call S&W and get a different answer from everyone.
  11. If you need some more done let me know.
  12. Your date is 1996, a call to S&W a few years ago told me that nothing special was done to .38spl models after that date other than stamping the plus p. however two of my guns were not approved for plus p only because they were not stamped.
  13. In 1972 SAAMI dropped pressure specifications for the .38 Spl from 21,000 psi to 17,000 psi,  Pressures exceeding 17,000 psi were given plus p designation in 1972.
  14. FWIW, the .38spl ammo available when that gun was manufactured exceeds plus p levels made now. Just shoot a few of your Gold Dots and carry with confidence.
  15. Strange that S&W advised to not use plus p ammo, the 36's normally hold up really well.
  16. I had an add on GOC for months wanting to buy 9mm brass paying up to that amount and never got more than about 300 pieces.I was basing those prices on what I could buy range pickup from some of the ranges.
  17. As long as it not tarnished, the 9mm is worth about $5/100 and the .38 and .380 worth about $6/100.
  18. It was not that long ago that $400 was the upper end of what Sig 225's were selling for. I have seen one recently at a shop that is normally fair on pricing and theirs was $599.
  19. I had good one once named Roudy, he was named after his father who was a champion. I had to put Roudy down thirteen years ago today on May 17, 2001, he was a good one and lived to be 15 years old. The coolest black lab name I have ever heard was Coffee, sometimes they called him Mr. Coffee. My current one is Bo and he is a good one, I have had several labs over my life.
  20. Also you gain the very much so desired full length ejector rod. Is your 22lr j frame a 34 or a 63? I have never seen a 3" 34 or 63.
  21. Stay away from the Grands, specifically the v-8's.
  22. The perfect j frame, and those are the best grips ever in existence for a j frame. It's beautiful!
  23. For the one or two guys looking to get a double edged safety razor I got lucky and found two for $10 at an antique store.
  24. I like the 64 but they don't carry as well as the 640 did. I can shoot the 64 quicker and reload it quicker. This is not mine but this is what I really want, a 2.5" model 10.
  25. Yes, very nice. Those 625's are worshiped by many, but not too much my thing. When I went through the police academy a few years ago one of the firearm instructors from Oak Ridge PD carried a 625 as a duty weapon. He could easily dump 12 rounds into a target in 5 seconds.
