    Shield plus

I have not shot a Shield Plus but I have handled one. The grip of the Shield Plus is only slightly thicker than the 1.0 or 2.0. Such a shuttle difference I believe S&W should discontinue the regular Shields.
  2. If you are doing it because you love a particular breed of dog it’s okay. If your doing it in hopes of making some money you will probably better off picking up aluminum cans to recycle. Some of my close friends did Yorkies for a couple of years and gave it up. Another friend of mine has breed dogs for thirty years and apparently does okay. He started with Jack Russels and has done Great Danes for a couple of decades.
  3. Get the optic and see for yourself. A few of the people I have consulted with years of use with red dots on pistols now say they wouldn’t have an issue running a reputable red dot without iron sights. I’m not seeing a ton of night sights with optics. I see some blacked out sight and some fiber optic fronts.
  4. The Glock 20 is an awesome 10mm. Actually, Glock is a wonderful platform for the 10mm with the 29, 20, and 40. I know a few people that hate Glocks but own a 20 because it is such an awesome 10mm. I had a 20 about 10 years ago and sold it to a good friend. I meant to immediately replace it with a 20 or a 40 if they went into production but ultimately went to a 1911 in 10mm and then a revolver in 10mm. For capacity, reliability, durability, and price the Glock 20, 29, 40 really cant be beat.
  5. Thanks. I shared this with my friend. It represents about what we suspected. I think it’s safe to say about 20% of adults in the US have tried CBD products and about 10% of adults will use it on a semi-regular basis.
  6. What are the first three letters of the serial number? Around 2014, there were a bunch of new 432 showing up on online retailers. I didn’t recall seeing one on a shelf anywhere. I passed at ordering one because of the lock. I wished that I would have bought one. It’s hard to say if they had been hanging around for ten years or if S&W did another short run like they often will do.
  7. Thanks for those taking the time to vote in this poll. The background is a friend, with a business selling CBD products among other items, is wondering why his sales have decreased 60% in the last two years. We are trying to evaluate if the industry is over saturated.
  8. I tried to make a poll but it keeps giving me an error. A friend asked me to take surveys of random groups concerning the average Joe’s CBD lifestyle. What are your CBD habits? 1. I do not buy CBD products and I never will? 2. I tried CBD but it is old news. 3. I still buy CBD products. 4. I tried CBD products but I have moved to products with THC.
  9. I need an early 686 rebarreled. The factory will not do it because they are backed up on warranty work. I have a factory new barrel already. Can anyone recommend a gunsmith, they don’t have to be in state, that can rebarrel a 686 and not spring the frame?
  10. No, I have to use a paper clip or bobby-pin.
  11. This is my 9mm Champion which should have the exact upper as yours.
  12. Both of mine look like the bottom example. I really thought the double spring was for the 40 and 45 while the single was for the 9mm.
  13. I believe what Res308 is describing is the factory guide rod and spring. I thought the Wilson wouldn’t fit the Springfield anyway but I may be mistaken.
  14. I have the Springfield Range Officer Champion, and I actually like it a lot.
  15. I have had so many Wranglers it’s hard to keep count. The 97-06 TJs are pretty good vehicles. I wished they still made them; I would buy a new one tomorrow. As mentioned previously, watch for frame rust. I have seen dozens parted out because the frame was falling apart. The tubs generally do not rust. I would avoid the 2.4 Neon engines the TJs had in the later years, but the 2.5 was not a bad engine despite being weak. The 2.5 as a daily driver gets a little annoying. As a weekend toy the 2.5 is fine and would probably be ok for a teen. I say avoid the 2.4, but if it were a hot deal I would buy it. I think 10k for a super clean 4cyl is a little high. With wranglers, the years don’t matter too much. It’s condition, condition, and engine that matter the most.
  16. Yeah, I would not hesitate to give them a try. The reports of issues are actually pretty rare.
  17. If I recall the WC lack of a feed ramp built into the mag presented the issues for the 10round 9mm ETM, but it’s all resolved and they will replace them. I have several 10rd 9mm Tripp Cobras that are flawless. My Springfield ETM has factory 10 round magazines made by Metalform that work flawlessly too. I have never had the issues with 10rd 9mm 1911 magazines that so many people report.
  18. Yes, the current EB magazines have been Checkmate for about the last ten years. They used to be another manufacturer’s rebranded to EB. I think they were Metalform, but don’t quote me. Checkmate magazines are definitely in the top five 1911 magazine manufacturers. I personally will rank them ahead of Chip McC. I have heard a few bad reviews of the 8rd 45 Checkmates but as a whole they are good and worth trying. The 7rd EB are the best $20 magazines for 1911s. Also, 1911s are one of those guns that what works in one may not work in another. I got introduced to a 9mm 1911 fanatic before Covid stopped all training. His thought was, if you are ok with 9rd 9mm magazines, there is no reason to buy anything other than Checkmate brand 9mm magazines. The same can be said for 38S, 10mm, and 40 1911 magazines. Even WC screwed up on their first attempt of 10rd 9mm magazines. My thought: If you aren’t trading in more than three magazines your better off buying the EB and selling your crap magazines for whatever they bring. You pay shipping both ways with the trade-in.
  19. Some do, and I have heard many of my Japanese friends make comments about it. I spent several years stationed in Hawaii. My wife taught school while we were there and we had some close friends of Japanese decent. The truth was the attack was built around bad intelligence and fear. The whole “If there had not been a Pearl Harbor, then there wouldn’t have been a Hiroshima and Nagasaki.” Is well understood and accepted amongst the Japanese. Military strategist believe the Japanese provoking the US to join when it did was probably one of the best things that could have happened to end the war. Many more lives would have been lost around the world if the US had not intervened and dropped the MOAB. I can not describe what it’s like being on Oahu each December 7th. It just feels eerie. It’s almost as if the sea, the plants, the animals, and every person knows December 7th on Oahu is a sobering day. The sun just rises slowly on that day each year.
  20. There is more ammo for sale at SGammo then I have seen in months. There is 9mm and even .380.

    .45 GAP

    Why you ask?

    .45 GAP

I shoot 45Gap in my 45 revolvers. My supply has dried up.
  23. Remember, Ballistic by the Inch is measuring a fixed breach and not accounting for the cylinder chamber in a revolver. The real velocity of a two inch revolver is closer to a 3.5-4” single shot or semiauto. The velocity loss through the cylinder gap is equivalent to the velocity loss operating the the blowback of a semi-auto; both are generally 25 fps is all. My 4” 45acp revolver still has more velocity, with the same loads, than a 5” GI 1911.
  24. The Bulldogs have some snap. I actually have a lot of love for Charter Arms. I had a super reliable and accurate 40 Pitbull that I sold to one of my best friends. I had a darn nifty 70ish undercover that I sold to another friend. Neither one of these ever had an issue. I never realized, until I inserted the undercover into a kydex holster, but they are actually smaller than a j frame in almost every dimension.
