I have pocket carried a 26/27 a lot. I have seen several cops take their belt off at the end of shift and stuff a Glock 22 into their pocket for the ride home.
-
The 26/27 use the same recoil spring as earlier models so they never experienced those growing pains. The 40 calibers tend to have a few less reports of brass to face. Just buy whichever one fits your needs best a go from there. I had a Gen4 19 that was pretty much flawless and a Gen4 26 that had maybe 5 cases of BTF out of several hundred rounds. I don't think I have had a single BTF out of 5k rounds of 40 through gen 4 23/27.

The Shield is like magic. It will carry all day in a pocket, outshoot the range guns, and eat the crappy ammo spit out of the other guns off the ground. Then it will shoot circles around our PPS without cleaning it.

If only there were enough 640 no dash .38's to go around for everyone!

I have a LCR and several j frames. The trigger may be one of the worst aspects of the LCR and I short stroke it all the time. One of my family members has had a PPS since the day they hit Tennessee. I have always enjoyed it but for some reason it has more recoil than the Shield, and everyone agrees so. Other than that the Walther Police Pistol Slim is a fine firearm.

Last night was the first time in over 5 months that I have pocket carried something other than my Shield. Just saying!

If it did not have the city and state for the manufacturer to be contacted they could not sell them in the US.

Does the frame not say Symrna, GA?

I had to carry the Berretta club as a MP for six years. I have always said that everyone can shoot a Berretta but no one shoots them great. I just have a neutral opinion on them after shooting probably more than ten thousand rounds through them. I have heard more than one person say that the Taurus 92 is every bit as great of a gun as the real thing with a few things done better. The biggest let down of the Taurus is not being able to use Berretta magazines. Fortunately you can use the same holsters; with so many service members carrying Berrettas over the years there are a ton of holsters on the used market.

I am almost for certain that they have been authorized once again.

Most guys with progressive presses normally do not clean primer pockets; it is not normally that essential anyway.
-
As far as manuals I have no issues with my Hornady book. I often go online though and then turn to my book.

Dawgdoc, if your handgun was in plan view, open carried in your vehicle, you would not need a permit for GA.

Atlas, I think you are correct. I just think that when you veer from the 5" 45acp 1911 you have a greater chance of it not working than working; I speak from experience.

Let me ask you this: what is the pay? While I do not know any welders, machinist, or fabricators at Y12 I would be willing to bet they are making pretty close to $100k with benefits like you would not believe. I say this because I know they make that at TVA and they normally pay the same or a little less.

That is a lot of questions. I like the contours of the Shield, better finish, the lack of a grip safety, the slightly lighter weight, and the lack of recoil. I had a 40 Shield and thought I wanted a 45XDS, I sold the XDS and went back to 9mm Shield. The XDS does have better sights. As far as fullsize guns I do not really care for regular M&P triggers, they are a gamble and not consistent one gun to the next. I have noticed that the finish on M&P's hold up a lot better than XD's. The XD probably does have a better trigger. It will be hard to beat the XD three free mag promotion they have right now. I have never shot a 9mm XD or 9mm M&P, only the 40's in both models. The M&P may have recoiled a little less but neither was bad at all. I don't really see the XDM as that much of an improvement or being more accurate. Either should be as accurate as the user. I also have no interest in a match grade barrel and it's tighter specs. I have heard the will not run dry because of that and will not like many peoples reloads. On your 1911 question; I believe 1911's should only be 45acp and 38super. I also believe that they should only be 5" government models the way JMB designed them over 100 years ago. I say that and I am a 10mm believer. I just don't think the 10mm belongs in a 1911. I am biased and not the world's biggest 1911 fan.

While it is competitive there, I would highly suggest giving it a shot. There are a lot of people that drive hours a day to work there, it is that great.

Buy any Springfield pistol and receive 3 free magazines

I had a XDs with 5 mags and tried to trade it for another Shield. I eventually gave up and sold it for just enough to buy a Shield and a third mag. I do not regret the decision! -
Cheapest quality .40 ammo I have seen for awhile
Patton replied to Patton's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Oddly enough, I just recently bought 750rds(15 boxes) of hollow points. -
The notch out of the bottom of the forcing cone is the whole reason for the fear, it was necessary to fit a 357 magnum length cartridge into the frame. That 13 is sweet and given the choice I would have taken a 13 over a 65 but I was just thrilled to find a 3" at $400.

Yes, 7.65mm but remember that it was just a movie. I think it was mentioned in a movie once.

It is not as cheap as the .40s&w Israeli crap but it is a great buy. Supposedly shipping is free for first time customers. This equals out to be $12.70/50 http://www.freedommunitions.com/40-S-W-180-gr-RNFP-New-p/fm40r180n-b0500.htm

I can't believe anyone could find them remotely similar. The Pf-9, XDS45, and LCR(s) are some stiff guns. I actually thought the Shield was pretty soft. Back on topic: 9mm Shield 24oz/ 38 Charter Arms Undercover 20oz/ Glock 27 30oz

Thanks, the 3" k frames are awesome. They are the smallest and lightest guns I care anything about shooting magnums. I shoot some magnums through my 640 but it is just for laughs. I have some dies if you want to borrow them.

It generally happens because of lead build-up that causes stretching of the forcing cone. If one cleans the forcing cone frequently all of the weights will be safer.
