Oh, I would say that you are correct. I did not realize that it was Bo*****.

I have never understood how P mags get such a bad rap because I have witnessed probably 100k rounds shot through them without malfunctions.
-
I bet they will have some guys that continue to shoot 40s&w for their off duty and back up qualifications.
-
They will be the first in TN to go back to 9mm.

My local Academy had the 10rd for $19.99 and the 6 rd for a few dollars cheaper. Both were the Promag which has been dependable in every weapon I have tried.
-
I have seen 10rd mags at Academy.

I think that it is just your average croppy. The sad thing is I doubt they will ever take him fishing again so maybe they should mount it. His normal day consist of going to school, going shopping with his mom, and then probably spending the rest of the day in his room. It's kind of sad, his mom won't hardly let him out of her sight.
-
Yeah, I told her that there was no reason to keep it but she has had it in the freezer. Lol!
-
I have a family member that wants to get her son's first fish mounted. Does anyone in Chattanooga have a recommendation?

Not all that funny but it is the best story that I have. I didn't have much luck my first couple of years of deer hunting. On about my fourth time in the woods I was eleven and was throwing up sick after sitting there for about three hours. My dad and I decided to leave when then out of nowhere three does walked right up to me. I took the first one.

I agree. Why the Springfield and the Ruger sp101?
-
There are actually very, very few reports of problems on 2nd gen 2 pin frames and it is easier to just produce the same frames. However, it quickly became apparent to Glock within one year of the 3rd gen frames that the 2pin 9mm could not handle rail mounted accessories. There was about a year of 2 pin, 9mm 3rd gens made.

Both are current production guns so they will probably depreciate or appreciate at about the same percentage. I am not a fan of the sp101, but it does the job. The Springer though may be the best 1911 for the money. I am trying to not put down the Ruger since I admitt that I am biased to S&W. The sp101 has two weak areas to me: the ejector rod is to thin and flimsy and it is made out of cast stainless instead of being forged. Now, 99% of users will never notice this about the Rugers though.

I only see it that way because it is the way I was told it happens by experienced professionals. I was somewhat leery of it until I saw it happen; a person who I knew, who I thought was honest, was unwilling to take a chance on losing a firearm. Then I saw it happen once again and I heard of cases where thugs learned of being caught and wanted no part of an item. It is a stolen firearm. I guarantee you that it will be passed on to a detective and receive strong priority. The department has to answer for unclosed cases. It may be impossible to find the statistics but I guarantee you that police find more guns through NCIC checks than citizens find guns on private websites. If you would truly call the police and go through the hassle of appearing to be a suspect until the police hashed out the details then you are a lot more honest than the majority of other citizens. Generally thugs trade hot items unless they know the item is too great of a risk. You want them to trade it on the street so that the new owner may be carrying it and get the number checked one day on a stop, or you want it to cycle through a gun or pawn shop.
-
One of the best ways to not get a stolen firearm back is by telling a thief that it is hot. The best hope at getting a stolen firearm back is by the gun getting sold to a pawn or gun shop. Sadly, even when an honest person runs across a stolen object they want to get rid of it and not call the police. Too many times stolen guns get thrown into rivers or stashed away deep somewhere so in case it is really needed. I had an acquaintance call me one time an ask me to run a serial numer. I said yes but I need to have the gun in my hand first because if it is stolen I have to keep it. He replied, "I don't want to loose it". This is not the only time I have seen or heard of things like this happening. If I had a gun taken in a theft I would probably call the police with the serial numbers and then make post indicating that I did not know the serial numbers. I would post that I was willing to pay a reward to get the gun back because I will know it when I see it. Another option is to post a want to buy ad for a stainless LCP and hope that someone tries to contact you with yours. Just ask for the serial prefix when they describe it or send the pictures. Then call your detective if someone wit your LCP contacts you.

He told me his first name was James but does anyone know if that was his actual first name? I have his phone number; are we to the point that we should have someone call?
-
How do you feel about the safety on the Ruger? That would lean me towards the Smith with it's extra mag and potentially lower price.
-
I am not going to share too many of the details that I know but TBI was really puzzled by the whole disappearance. There was a lot of questions that for the first year had the whole LE community stumped.
-
Well, it was my fault for two reasons: I was working the trigger mechanism while it was disassembled and when it wouldn't go back easily I forced it. Ruger actually said that the ejector got bent in the process. I was actually a lot bigger and stronger then and don't know if I could do it now or if the average person could force it, but I wasn't my gun.

Exactly, I have been tempted on several occasions to pick up a new SD during one of the $299 sales but I can get a used Glock 22 for the same deal at GT's. By doing that I will be sticking with something that uses Glock 40 mags( I have dozens). I was really excited about the SR9 when they came out 4 years ago. We took one apart inside the gun store and I was turned off by too many little moving parts. When we tried to put it back together we got the slide stuck and it had to go back to Ruger.

I toted the same ones on a 642 for awhile. IMO, they are a little too big. The best is the Uncle Mikes banana grips that come on 357 60/640/649; they are perfectly concealable with a thin strap covering the rear and a lot to hang onto. The Compac grips are nice for my magnum loads though.

I have shot a full-size 40 and 45 M&P; I could not warm p to the trigger. For some weird reason the Shield's trigger is so much better than a regular m&p. It really sucks because I am a huge S&W fan. I do carry a Shield daily.

My Glock info source, which is always right, says that as long as the G42 is selling they will not make a 9mm version.

I'll chime in for Chattanooga: Bea's Restaurant, Zarzour's, Nikki's, NYPD, Aretha Frankenstein's, or Biba's. Aunt Effie's in Ringgold is great. Canyon Grill on the Dade Co end of Lookout is fantastic.
