I will tell you though, if a semiauto is going to fail you it will be in a high stress, poor grip situation. The saying common with cops during the revolver to semiauto transition time was that "a revolver is six shots for sure." I carry a revolver because I trust them to work more reliably in adverse conditions, in a jacket pocket, or while jammed into an assailant. I have not carried a full size auto or even a compact auto for some time now. I went back to a Shield for various reasons, but I have recently went just straight j or k frame. I can just draw them and engage a target faster than with the Shield. This is mainly because I pocket carry so frequently. I feel that I can do an emergency reload pretty quickly, I practice very frequently, but I don't really feel that it is that crucial. I have actually had some very formal revolver training; I went through the only police academy around that made everyone shoot a revolver after qualifying with an auto.

In my life I have spent a lot of time driving and using tractors owned by other people. As far as stuff made sense 1990 and on, Kubotas have always impressed me. My family owned a Bobcat and I thought it was a great machine; it gave us very little trouble. The New Holland and Case stuff was nowhere near te machines as my Bobcat I don't know anything about Bobcat tractors though. We had a family friend that sold Yanmar tractors and spoke well of them. I just can't recommend a Deere after using a few of them.

If you have an alarm do not use a key fob to disable it before entering your home. Enter your home, lock the door behind you, and then do a quick scan to ensure everything looks in order. I have heard more than one story over the years of a person, it's not always women, that get approached and pushed into their home/buisness by an assailant. If this happens you will have a silent distress code that will silence your alarm and alert the police that you are under distress.

I have never shot a pm9/cm9, but I have read tons of great things about them over the years; people really like them. I was extremely disappointed in a CW45 and then again in a CW380. Some of the stuff I couldn't see being any different on a cm9 like the sharp corners and overall cheap feel. I see that you own and carry a shield. I would argue that my Shield comes pretty damn close to behaving like a full size gun. I went through some shoot houses and stress courses as law enforcement that I would not hesitat to go through with a Shield expecting to receive the same score.

It is possible that they have seen a video of the gunman that we have not.

They move and shoot about the same way as I have seen others around the world. I am not saying they are professionals by that statement.

Updated to the first page.

Probably the cheapest I ever heard of anyone paying was about $375 for a tandem load and that was in 2001. Most of the guys just tried to make $100 to haul a load that took 2 hours of their time. I was in the topsoil business at one time and did some trading with tandem axle truck drivers. I have not talked to anyone who has bought a load in years, but I would have figured people were paying closer to $500 nowadays.
-
That is about what people were paying 6-12 years ago.

I have heard it a few also. I google well, but when it comes to Lexisnexis I lack the skills. Interesting enough TCA 55-10-41 states something to the effect of illegal to operate under the influence of intoxicants or operate with a measurable amount of .08. Tennessee Code Annotated 55-10-401 is all one would use to arrest for a BAC under .08.
-
No, actually zero tolerance specifically applies to the .02% maximum for minors. Wrecks with injury, a DUI with a minor in the car, and it seems like on other circumstance I believe case law set the precedence for a lower amount to be aggregated DUI if memory serves correct. I have won probably 2 DUI's out of 5 when challenged about a BAC under .08
-
You may actually be correct. Most of what I have heard has been from CDL drivers themselves, but I would never try to make life exceptionally hard on them so I never processed a CDL holder unless I felt hat I really needed to.
-
No, supposedly only RMR or whatever.

Someone from the sheriff's department was talking to te press on tv and I heard him say that it was a 9mm, M&P Shield. He referred to it as one of the newest, but most commonly concealed carry guns out there. Actually, if you google "Veronica Rutledge M&P Shield" you will get several pages of stories.
-
I have tried to prosecute a few over the years under .08 per se when they were severely impaired but it is a tough case. A wreck where there is serious bodily injury or a DUI stop with a minor in the car is not too hard to win for law enforcement under the zero tolerance legislation. If someone has a CDL, even driving their personal car cannot have a measurable amount.

I went from a Shield(40) to a XDS(45) and then back to a Shield(9). To me the Shield in either chambering is a better gun for less money. I can't imagine a ss glock in 9mm doing anything my Shield can't do. I lose some rounds but my Shield already handles and shoots better than larger Glocks.

Yes, it makes it easy to find my keys when time to leave also.
-
Still hard to bear that a two year old could pull a trigger. Just for those wondering the handgun was a M&P Shield.

You mentioned him being a paratrooper but he does not have wings on his uniform. It is possible that he was, his short frame would have been benificial, but maybe he decided just not to wear the wings.

Oh, thank you for your work. I'll confess, there are hundreds planted out there that I at one time recommended. I am sure there are people cursing me today. Another thing that happened with Leyands was over-population; it can happen anytime a species is overplanted or planted too closely. Plant any species too close and you will see how fast they get disease and insects. To OP, how tall and wide would be too big? Also, what part of the state?
-
The Osage orange trees, or hedge apples, make a good screen, grow fast, are very disease tolerant, do ok in droughts, but are not evergreen. That is the only thing to know when making a screen out of them. Otherwise, they screen from noise very well 9-10 months a year.
-
After spending 10 years working in garden centers, growing up with parents and grandparents working in garden centers, and going to college for horticulture, I recommend against Leyland cypress. They grow fast and serve as an evergreen hedge, but they have problems with cankers, bag worms, needle blight, and Phytophthora and Annosus root rots. Emerald Green or Green Giant Arborvitae look very similar and will not have half the troubles. Beware, all of these will get 60' tall and the Leylands will be the ugliest things you have ever seen in about 12 years. The Leyands just get ugly and thin the older they get; it is the nature of the beast. Arborvitae tend to stay full their entire life. I recommend whatever you do plant on triangular centers if the property is deep enough. Twenty-five foot triangular centers will look like 12.5' centers when viewed perpendicularly. If you do not have the room for 25' triangular centers than you don't have the room for Leylands, arborvitae, White pines, or similar. Trust me, I have seen this mistake time and time again.

That's a favorite of mine, but until powder becomes more plentiful I will not waist powder on loading 9 or 40. Otherwise, I enjoy loading .40 and find it as tweakable as other loads. There is a lot of savings to be had rolling your own .38/.357 so I focus on them nowadays.
